This was a great run to watch. I didn't give this game enough of a chance when it first came out because I didn't like Nero's prosthetic arm mechanics, but seeing the rest of the game played by pros definitely makes me want to go back and give it another go.
that went REAL under estimate. I wonder why the estimate was a lot higher than how long this actually took, maybe this run was just unexpectedly very smooth lol
The estimate was for both incentives one of them being a higher difficulty and the other playing a long cutscene. It also had much faster loads than what Cosmic had at home when he estimated

I suck so fucking much at this game and I couldn't figure out why, and the guys explained it to me. The fighting game analogy makes perfect sense, since I suck ass at fighting games also.

The fact that V was half of Vergil was supposed to be a big reveal even though it was extremely obvious, so the audience was faking a reaction as a joke when the commentators brought it up.

Angel Berrios of course they changed the layout to maximize the damage output. It’s especially important for nero as his maximum damage output utilizes both the arms and the blue rose and it’s physically impossible to simultaneously charge both at the same time.
I was actually wondering if that first fight against Urison was supposed to be winnable. I thought the game just makes him forever untargetable after a certain amount of damage and trolls us. The more you know!

Not having much experience with this series or games like it myself it's interesting to see the variety of thoughts and opinions being shared in the comments. There really doesn't seem to be any consensus
DMC5 is bar none the coolest game I've ever played. It beats out all the other DMC's, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, Nier Automata or anything else you can think of. I can't think of another game that pulled a broader banana grin on my face than this game did. Combat is not just visceral, engaging and flowing, it's an open canvas. It really invites you to play and experiment with all moves in a way that no other character action or spectacle fighter game has done before. Edit: You get a motorcycle as a weapon that splits into a set of dual chainsaws. Even Warhammer 40k can't top that.
You can actually do that. If you kill him in the prologue mission you immediately unlock Sons of Sparda difficulty. But there's not really a point in speedrunning that since you don't have any special attacks to work with in new game mode.
Graphically, the game is very sharp, but the environments are so dark and drab, too many "organ" looking levels. It would've been nice if they had more diverse locations: castles, dungeons, fields. I like the concept of V, they should've kept it just Dante and V, no need for Nero.
This game is so meh..when compared to dmc1 or dmc3. Cant find that tone of "darkness" or slight horror from the first or the excitment of progressing thru that tower to face virgil for the first time on the 3rd instalment. Good action tho.
I can understand what you mean, but calling DMC V a meh is just not it chief. It easily trumps all other games in the series as a whole. Previous DMC's are great, but as a full package, V is superior.

I personally heavily prefer DMC5. The gameplay is just so far superior to any other installment. The original really doesn’t hold up, so not sure what you’re talking about there, but I agree DMC3 is pretty close.

You have to. It's practically impossible to charge and do melee combat under default control.

1st fight u can win and get an alternative ending
You can win all of em except the one where youre supposed to lose as Dante, because if you won as Dante, it would be a time paradox.

Been playing DMC since I was a kid and I have owned and enjoyed all DMC until DMC 5. The game just doesn't interest me at all.
