    Hello, I would like to know the spells you used in early, mid game if that's possible. Bilocation? Mental breakdown? Fear? Yes no ?

    Can I ask what your end game gear looks like? I just don't know what armor or staff to use

    • @sheepherder3893
      @sheepherder3893  3 года назад +2

      Armor would be a sturdy tactical vest made with a psi beetle carapace and black cloth.
      Staff would be Høddurform: stygiansoftware.com/wiki/index.php?title=H%C3%B8ddurform

    I still wonder if hybrid builds might now try adding thought control to their builds since now full all class psi isnt as viable, since thought control has some rather nice skills in their disposal and but may need something to back it up since robots exist, i doubt it though

    • @sheepherder3893

      Apart from the disables, Though Control doesn't have much to offer to hybrids. Neurovisual Disruption is bad and to use the other abilities effectively you'll probably want Locust of Control, which has a requirement of 10 Will. That might be a bit much for hybrids.
      And you can't dip into TC either, because the disables can be resisted and the chance to resist them depends on the effective TC level of the caster, thus you need to invest heavily. From my experience, at least 200 effective TC is needed on Dominating.

      @@sheepherder3893 Damn shame, hopefully styg and the team improve it in the future, since i believe the psi nerf was them to allow them to do add new things to psi, and because now no one will really use it besides like gimmicks builds or someone attempting to go full psi post nerf which is something i would like to see actually cause now it seems more like an interesting challenge

      @@videodruggie I wouldn't call it a nerf to psi. The mechanical changes in this patch nerfed exactly one, overpowered build type: the all-school psi only (either tranquility or psychosis). Previously psi had issues with build diversity, as there were only 2 real ways to build it. After the new patch, due to increased psi cost of memorizing abilities from several schools, there are now incentives to specialize, instead of just getting all the psi. And the spell slots just mean that playing psi requires some minor planning and foresight.
      Full psi is still the most powerful build type in the game.

      @ScepticalCynic Maybe. Although I prefer the current situation, as I like playing specialist builds over generalists and there wasn't much point in playing specialist psi builds before.
      However, even before the patch psi gameplay wasn't very diverse, not for me, at least. There were a handful of powerful abilities and combos (for example LoC+Enrage, TD+PK, Mania+Cryo Orb) that I'd use over and over and would hardly ever use anything else.
      The generalist psi build is also still viable, just takes a while longer to get insane. Needs gear and feats to reduce psi cost. Needs levels to increase its damage. A bit more complex to play too, as there's an element of planning involved in which abilities to memorize. Although I do think a way to swap a memorized ability at a cost, once per combat or temporarily, would have been a good addition to this new system.
      Another complaint I often see is that the less popular psi abilities will be used even less often after the patch. While it's largely true, as some of those abilities are arse (lol Neurovisual Disruption), but with how specialization is now rewarded, it's possible to make a build centered around some of the less popular damage dealing abilities and still do well.

      @ScepticalCynic I mean sure, I’d use the fancier combos occasionally, but I’d go out of my way to use those. Or they’d be useful in some very specific situations. In that case, the patch didn’t change much. For example, I’d just memorize distortion for shrooms/bladelings. But overall, I do agree that some abilities will never see usage after the patch, unless used in a specialist build.
      This build is 8 INT, I think. And it’s two schools. Three schools would maybe need 10 INT, but I think I personally could get by with 8 INT and just swamp spells before fights. I have meta knowledge, so I guess most should opt for 10 INT.
      Traps and damage dealing grenades are not necessary in any build. The build in this video uses damage dealing grenades against robots, because TC has no other way to damage them, but otherwise I do all of my runs without using either (except in outposts, newton and GSM, but don’t tell that to anyone). I do use Flashbangs and EMPs extensively tho, as CC.
      Imo the reserve loss is a non-issue, past very early game (pre Newton). One click does not constitute tedium. Unlike, say, the digestion of looted gear into scrap and then into repair kits. Ugh.
      The psi point loss when swapping seems like an oversight on devs side, but I don’t see how they can fix that. Somehow memorize the max reserve amount? It's the same if using the staves from the natives.

    i have a question how are you doing damage to the robots with neural overload , becuase if a remember .. robots can't be attacked by any thought control attacks , The Faceless Centaur is robot class rite time scale 1m10sec to 1m17sec ... were you did 474 damage with neural overload ... do you have item which lets you target robot .... am building mind controler .. some of the feats are differn't to mine
    but very nice damage liking it baby !

    • @sheepherder3893
      @sheepherder3893  3 года назад +1

      Faceless Centaur isn't a bot, Plasma Sentries are. And for most of the game, I'd either stealth past bots or use grenades on them. No way to damage bots with TC, unfortunately.

    How did you do early game? Whenever I play it rathounds eat my ass before I can kill all of them. I am fairly new to psi, would like some pointers if that's ok.

      I'd recommend abusing crits, taking survival instincts and keeping yourself at low health early game is the best way to abuse them

      The rest of the skill points are whatever you want. You can also replace LoC spec with Tranquility spec for an extra cast of NO at lvl 30, but it's debatable. At lvl28 Strider is nice, but can be changed for something else. Level 30 feat is whatever.
      No other schools apart from TM because I wanted to make a NO focused build.

      @@sheepherder3893 thx, great, do you think TC with TM is more powerful then Psuchokinesis with Metathermics under Tranquility? If you have P+M build ideas please, show it. P.S. sorry for my poor english )
