- What a horrible thing to happen to Scott Welker (Leg Arms). We are just so thankful it wasn't worse and that he will likely make a full recovery. Accidents like this are rare but always possible. Safety is so important and we must do what it takes to prevent such things. Thank you all for your support!

Again just want to say just how thankful we are for all of your support. Leg Arms really appreciates it!
My prayers are out for leg arms
I think he planned this so you can’t fire him anymore. Hope he heals fast.
At least it’s right before winter! always sucks to get injured and have to sit out. I’ve been out for 2 months so far on a sliced achilles i know how it feels...
Wish him a speedy recover from Dufton family.👍🇬🇧🍻
Hope your ok leg arms hope all the best to you and your family ❤️❤️
People who know nothing about farming do not realize how dangerous it is. Prayers go out to Leg Arms and his family.
Some people dont realize! But really it doesnt matter what field of work you do, you can do things a millions time without anything happening. It only takes that one time for somethin to happen though!
Our family has been in farming for generations, and as such, someone had to keep the line going, it's like a given now. My brother, took that role, as caretaker, and i went on to pursue the other side of the family in architecture. But there isn't a single day, when he's in season, that i don't fear getting "that" call from my sister in law. Because, as you can imagine, our family having been farming so many years, we've had our share of fatal accidents. Personally, i put farming up there with the two other great professions, medicine, that heals us, architecture, that houses us, and farming, that feeds us. Without these, we'd never be what we are today (Engineering too, but we never admit that, because we're petty, us architects).
@@TC-dz5df exactly, one time is all it takes and complacency is a real problem as well.
Best of wishes from us Scott, I was a farmer and know to well about the lurking dangers and a long time ago had a nasty accident myself which left me with 3 partial cut off fingers.
But we are tough and move on, I hope you have good insurance , if not I’m sure the You tube community will step in to help you out including us.
Get well and rest
People would be suprised on how many farmers are missing fingers/hands
It shows everyone that even though he knows what he is doing, accidents can happen. Never get complacent. I hope he has a speedy and incident-free recovery.
It only takes a second and it can and does happen to the best of us.
It took a lot of courage for them to share this with us because of all the trolls and self proclaimed experts on youtube. It's hard to believe but one of the safest guys I know had one of the worst shop accidents I've been around........we do what we can to minimize the risks, and learn from the mistakes we make.
This is true my dads best friend was harvesting soybeans and I don’t remember what happened but he thought he knew what he was doing and left the header on and the header grabbed him once his arm got hung he was already gone the sad thing was that his son was riding with him at the moment and he was the one who called 911
Accidents happen. "Show me a guy who doesn't make any mistakes and ill show you a guy who's not working hard enough!"
I’ve never clicked on a video recommendation so fast. Prayers for Leg Arms recovery.
Praying for full and quick recovery .
So big bud and leg arms both got some new steel plates.
So glad he's doing well.
Let’s just hope that the big bud can fully recover from this terrible accident.
Praying you make a full and rapid recovery
Take care guys. Just reminds us how dangerous what we as farmers do everyday is
Very true. It only takes a second for a accident to happen
As we say in the oil field. "Everything here can hurt or kill you. Be safe."
Yep I’m on a farm and it is scary
Ha south sask
True
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but Millennial farmer Zach just posted that his daughter Isla broke her arm too. We will keep both of you in our prayers!
Praying for a full and speedy recovery.
While that accident was bad it could have been so much worse. Here’s to a full recovery by spring
Hey it’s Cousin Kevin. That looked very bad Scott. So lucky it wasn’t any worse!! I hope your recovery is 100% and easy!!!
Hey Kev! Thanks!
Aww 0.0
@@WelkerFarms you guys should get an amazon echo (Alexa) they are relatively inexpensive I think I got mine for $39 around Black Friday and they are extremely useful for timers and math calculators but they have a brilliant feature that you could have used if Legarms needed help. It’s called Alexa call for help and you would just tell that to Alexa and she would have a list of emergency contacts that she would call so that you wouldn’t need to look for your phone. Glad to see Scott is doing better, I know you have a long road ahead but back in the shop just using a tape measure is a good sign.
Glad you're ok Scott. You hate to see farm accidents like that but its the reality people need to see to realize farming isn't easy and crap happends. Best wishes to you and you're family and a speedy recovery.
Leg arms 80% strength is still 100% of most Americans. Montana Strong.
Thank you for showing the actual accident footage. Hard to watch, but it will stop me from taking similar short cuts.
Thank God it wasn't worse! Retroactively praying for a speedy recovery.
I'm so glad he's doing better. tell leg arms will keep him in our prayers as he continues to recover. I bet you guys were happy that Harvest was over. Have a great afternoon
As a retired diesel mechanic in the heavy duty trucking industry for 44 years, I crushed my foot after about 16 years "on the floor." It happened as fast as what you experienced, and it ended my career. (to punish me, they made me a manager for the rest of the time. . .) To anyone doing this kind of work, let me remind you all that it is SO important to keep "situational awareness," of what you're doing, because a single moment can be a monumental change. (I was also working alone in the middle of the night when my accident happened.) Scott, glad to see you've come through this, and I'm sure you know they'll be a ton of rehab to go along with it, (not to mention that security at the airport will be a challenge from now on. . .,) but thanks be to God, it could have been worse! I saw this on your Instagram much earlier than this video posting, and have been praying since then! Hope your healing time goes well!!
I've 3 plates in my forearm and no issue at airport security.
@@Cannibal440 That's great to know! Maybe they've finally adjusted the things properly. I had a secretary with an artificial hip & had all kinds of problems. She ended up carrying a doctor's note & a copy of the X-ray.
Amazing how quick you break a bone that takes 6 to 8 weeks to heal. I've got a well stocked hardware store in one arm from a few different mishaps.
Hey Scott sorry hope you get better soon looked like a horrible accident thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
You can say one thing about Scott. His sprit is defiantly stronger than any ones arm. God's speed!
I remember reading, years ago, that just about everything on a farm can hurt you.
WIshing Scott a full recovery. Glad to see him smiling at the end.
Hope you have a smooth and speedy recovery. Watching from the uk
Farming is inherently dangerous. Unfortunately we are reminded every day as accidents happen and unfortunately lives are lost. Farmers are a hardy bunch of folks (men and women). If it wasn't for these hardy people we would go hungry in a very short time.
I pray for a speedy recovery for Scott.
Legarms and Grandpa Millennial Farmer should do a "convalescent" show together and then have Andy Detwiler come in at the end and tell them both to "get back to work, they have mouths to feed." Do it as some form of kick start to an ag based fund for farmers hurt on the job.
Cool Idea!!!
@@zedhead2864 You can add Daughter Millennial Farmer to it now as well.
I like that idea too. I am up here in Ontario, Canada but follow several farming channels from the states. It was awful seeing Scott or any other farmer hurt. I would support this venture on both sides of the border. A good idea has no borders. Get well soon Legarms.
Isla broker her arm as well. Not a good week or 4.
Leg arms I hope your doing better buddy...your comments about your family being your first thought was very heart felt!!
Everyone in Alberta Canada is wishing you a speedy recovery.
Even in the X-ray, though, you can tell why they call him Leg Arms. Speedy recovery to you!
Thanks for sharing. As a full time safety consultant, retired paramedic, and part time farmer - it takes a lot for a man to share his mistakes. This information goes along way in helping further the safety of others working in shops back home alone. I have also been hurt or damaged equipment by working alone or thinking I can rig something to accomplish a task and overstepping my capabilities. WE ARE HUMAN! WE ARE STUBBORN! and we are better people for it.. In the industry (occupational safety) you had what is described as a "line of fire" accident. Pass on to your viewers to always have an escape route, and if none is there, make one. An example of using that jack to lift the draw bar safely, if someone did not have access to a lift, would be to choc it with timber before working under it. Again, thanks for sharing and this is how people learn! Excellent job on the video as always!
This is a fairly uncomplicated arm fracture.
Scott is young and heals well.
He is fit and has good oxygen uptake.
He will recover quickly.
“Who Broke It Better Leg Arms or Isla?! Leg Arms, no doubt!”. Scott your break is
the better type to have. She really busted up her elbow. I think you should
call that little girl with some words of encouragement. While you are on the
phone call Case IH and have them send a left-handed demonstrator tractor so you
can use it. Might as well put the rest of what you have to good use. 😊
Prayers sent for healing to both you and Isla, God bless you both
Haven't seen how bad Isla's is yet, but I hope she is okay.
She broke it pretty bad but to my understanding she should heal up well.
Who could look at Isla's elbow x-ray and not say she wins twice over?
No offence Leg Arms.
@@KrakeLakn Well Isla broke her arm right above the elbow what is REALLY nasty. Scott had the easier one here.
@@JackMacLupus im just glad it wasn't more serious. My thoughts and prayers going out to them.
Hello Welker family and specially Scott. I wish you a good rehabilitation. I hope you will have a good team around you to make you get the power and function back as good as possible. Take care of your self and your family, and dont rush this. Best wishes and the the best hope for a good recovery from Jan in Norway
That sucks, don’t worry, everything is going to be alright.
Wow. Praise be to God that he didn’t lose that arm.
I mean "God" could have just dropped that Drawbar next to his arm instead of crushing it but whatever floats your boat man...
Yeah his leg and arms
@@TheDrumminguy are you trying to be funny?
@MotoMatt he can do everything actually. but there is a reason for why he lets some things just happen.
God is made up. Not real. Doctors and science fixed and saved his arm, blind luck limited the damage.. but fairy tales had no hand in it all. Take personal responsibility rather than suggesting its an invisible friends doing
Nice of you guys to share it with us 🇮🇪
Prayers - hope Scott is doing well. Seeing the video brought back a 'flood' of calls that I went on over the 35 years of fire service. Again hope he is doing well. Take care God Bless - Spin
Praying for Scott "Leg Arms" Welker. May the Lord see you to a full recovery. We really enjoy your channel.
Amen
Praying for a complete recovery
Thanks for sharing
Here's hoping Scott has a full and speedy recovery. It's unfortunate that the accident happened but it's good to see him laughing and joking and in good spirits. Thank God it wasn't any worse.
Wow this video caught me totally off guard, to see this happen to Scott "Legg Arms" really bothered me. I've been watching you guys, the Welker family for so long now feels like I know you personally. I drove an 18 wheeler for 31 years retired now but working a farm like you guys do always interest me. Hope Scott has a speedy recovery and God Bless the Family...
Scott i want to wish you the best of luck on quick and full recovery. It just isn't fare that things like this happen to good guys like you.
If it can any comfort to you, I had the exact same injury 45 years ago. I snapped both bones in half in my left forearm. It healed back stronger than ever and I have never had any problems, pain or arthritis from the injury. Get well soon buddy.
That’s scary stuff. I work on heavy equipment every day it only takes one quick instant for something to happen unexpected. Wishing Scott a speedy recovery
Shake Hands with Danger
@@cudwieser3952 LOL remember those cheesy 1980s videos
@@Adam_Poirier Only what I've come across on YT (I was born in 84) :) Tell you what though there was on shown on late night tv here a good few years ago called forklift driver klaus. It was germany with subtitles. It was a legit safety vid, but had a very 'german' sense of humour
Scot as you heal DON'T get impatient and over reach and hurt yourself more . Recovery will ALWAYS be too slow for you.
I did my ankle (only the end cap, not the main joint) and it still took 2 years to get full strength back.
Good luck in your recovery.
I'm not religious but this is one of the only times i pray for a good recovery
Why? Doctors fixed it.. not imaginary friends
You don't have to be religious to pray. God bless you.
@@_Gundy_ thank you 👍🏻
To pray isn't always a religious thing.
Tough break. Scott is a tough dude. He'll recover and learn from this horrible event. Lots of support. Be well.
wish you all the best on your recovery sir.
Could have picked an easier battle. Here's hoping Scotts Leg Arm is as good as new before too long
Yikes, glad he's going to be ok, absolutely brutal injury, thank God he wasn't laying under that thing.
Thank you for showing this incident. Its so easy for something to move at the wrong time into the wrong place. I'm really glad he's going to be ok.
Farming is no joke… everything is fine one second and a second later you can get hurt pretty bad. Get well soon! Now you have a manager role, you can tell everyone else what to do now!
Same with logging rolling equipment boom falling on you while you are taking it off that almost happened to my dad
My thoughts and prayers go out to Scott for a speedy recovery.
Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad its not worse than it is. Take care and heal quickly.
Praying for a full recovery. Glad to see you up and around and in good spirits. In the future, if a quarter ton of anything is falling, don’t try and catch it. 💪
Glad you're doing well leg arms! Hope you have an easy and fast recovery.
Sending love and best wishes from Scotland. hope you make a full recovery Scott .
I praise God with y’all that He protected Scott in the manner that He did. May the name of the Lord continue to be exalted through all of you. Amen
Guardian angels I've had a accident with the only way to explain why I'm still alive and Scott sounds like you have one too God Bless brother.
Nick don't worry about making videos right now, family comes first. I said the same thing to the millennial farmer. His little Isla broke her arm at school. So take all the time you need. Love the video's keep up the good work and god bless and stay safe.
Can every body pray for my grandpa he owns an apple farm in Michigan and he has open heart surgery on Wednesday. And we are all praying that leg arms will be okay
Hope all goes well, that is a very hard thing to deal with.
Yes. Prayers for your grandpa.
what apple farm? im from michigan
Surgery got done at 4 and he is doing just fine, thank you for the prayers.
@@colleenmurray4707 Good to hear. Thanks for the update. God is good.
Glad to see you’re okay Scott💪🏼 I have to say, I loved it when your father brought over the “This farm has been accident free for 5 minutes” sign, that was pretty funny!
I’m late to the get well party, but I am so thankful you made a fabulous recovery!
Y’all’s strength of Faith is so inspiring❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m so happy to hear that everything is going better. How terrifying. My prayers are with you and your family. God is good!
Please have a spotter near by. I know someone in our farming town, the jack failed and he was crushed because his family was at the store. I know it sounds dopey but it’s not worth having someone die or get hurt
Scott, praying for a full recovery.
I’m watching this video to learn from Leg-arms. Every minute is terrifying but I have to get through it so I can learn what I can do to avoid getting hurt. Accidents happen and I am sure Leg-arms was being safe but it is still an opportunity to learn. I am so sorry Scott!
Thank you for posting this. I am sure it was hard to edit. I am praying for a speedy recovery Leg-arms. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hang in there!!!!
I vote Leg Arms to become the boss until he is fully recovered. Rest up my friend and god bless.
Praying for a steady recovery Scott.
Man, that first shot of leg arms in the hospital was rough. You could tell he was in pain. I'm glad you guys can find some humor in the situation.
From what I see in the video, it appears that when the drawbar dropped, it swung the jack he was holding onto underneath, pulling his arm into harm's way.
Be careful with those pain meds!
Sorry that look very painful. Hope you heel quickly. Prayers from West Virginia.
Leg Arms I wish you a speedy recovery. Accidents happen to all of us at some time in our lives. I learned a lesson on safety when I was only twelve years old. A garden tractor bit off part of my index finger in just half a second. I see that reminder every day. I have enjoyed watching you and your family's farming activities for several years. I'm amazed how much farming has changed in the last sixty plus years.
A really cool display of the capabilities of the human body, when your mind kicked in and overrode your normal limitations to tap into that hysterical strength and allowed you to free yourself. Also I think that chain should be retired from active service, painted gold, and mounted on the wall as a tribute to its service in saving Scott's "Leg". Glad surgery went well, and I wish the best for your recovery, and your family.
I agree but it should be painted white to match the tractor.
I hope you get better soon, I wish you a strong and swift recovery.
Scott in 2009, I rolled my 3 wheeler 185 Honda. I dislocated my right shoulder like you remove a chicken wing. I drove myself to Glasgow, they flew me to Great Falls. Dr Greg Pike fixed me up great.
I hope that you get as good of recovery as I did. Leg Arms has a ways to go! I am praying that you have 100 % recovery. Do your physical therapy every time that you are supposed to do it, or more.
Good luck Scott. I want to see Leg Arms in the shop.
Hello from north east Montana.
I’m so glad he’s going to be ok. I’m looking forward to seeing him singing in the bins again.
My grandfather has been in and out of the hospital for different reasons but has not been able to work and has been going crazy and I just can't imagine how that must be and leg arms will have to go through that same type of thing in the coming months, I feel nothing but sorry for you and hope you have a speedy recovery big fella
#legarms
Scott, on behalf of myself and my entire family I wish you a speedy recovery and the full use of your arm. We appreciate all that your family does to feed America! Thank you! God Speed your recovery!
Still concerned but a huge relief to see you’ll be ok. Blessings.
Sending our prayers for a speedy recovery “Leg Arms”!
Wishing Leg arms all the best and a speedy recovery. Love watching your vidoes. Best wishes to you, your family and the whole Welker family. William Robertson, Inverness - Scotland
If not for his thick skin and those darn leg arms yea probably would have dismembered him. ;-|
I have no words! That was just brutal ... I'm not a weak-stomach person but just realizing how heavy that steal was ... F! Even over the adrenaline from that shock it still have to hurt a lot!!! These accidents can scare person for life ... Scott man! Stay strong! You will endure this.
Praying for a full speedy recovery Scott
Glad his surgery was a success and he's in good spirits I pray for a speedy recovery 🙏
Guess who just got promoted to a supervisor position.
Get well Leg arms!! Prayers lifted we love your farm show & babies!!🚜🙏🏼❤️
Keep farming strong brother! Much love!
Get healed up fast LegArms. Prays for Scott and family.
Best regards from Ireland, hope you are back to your best soon! Looking forward to seeing you back in the workshop soon.
Props for Scott admitting that he was careless and knew better. I'm surprised he even attempted to do something like that without help.
Malama Pono (Take Care) Scott "Legarms" Welker!!! Prayers from Hawai`i from me & my Family.
Aloha
Prayers for Leg Arms hope his arm gets better soon. This made me almost cry.
my eyes were tearing for most of this video. my heart goes out to you, Scott. I hope you find a personal example in your life of God's healing power through the acceptance of prayer and silent meditation as you focus on returning to your perfect health. I think we are all grateful for the contributions you and your family make to us as viewers, and also to the wider world. I and so many others stand in support of you, and in support of your family. We thank you and also pray for your recovery.
Bad times for Millennial Farmer - his daughter fell and broke her arm and you - leg arms, your break, pray for the complete recovery for the two of you. Perhaps you could reach out to her, she is the little one, the two complete opposites, big and strong, frail and small. God bless, heal and have a speedy recovery for the two of you.
For Isla, for her it is a slightly different story. This is down to age and the bone growth. Isla also has more than 2 bones and her fracture is a complex break as it is on a joint. Hope both make a full recovery though
Holy cow brother, good luck with your recovery. Don't see too many life flights around here for a broken arm, you must be in the middle of nowhere! Glad it's all working out, probably could have been much worse. Take care and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Ouch, that is serious stuff. Let's hope for a quick recovery.
Absolutely Right Andy :)
Hard to watch- knowing what was coming- but you WILL get better- lots of people praying for you Scott!
Praying for a full recovery!! God bless!
legarms, We’re all thinking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery.
