I just wanted to shout out to the editor of this video: I know you're getting roasted here in the comments section, people saying it's too hard to follow, etc. As a professional video editor myself, I just wanted to voice my opinion that you did a great job. You kept the pace of the video alive and in my opinion the cuts were made in places that made a lot of sense. I followed the instructions for all of the planes in this video (except for the Tumbling Wing) and I didn't find them hard to follow at all. I did have to pause the video a couple times, which is to be expected for an instructional video of this type. But I honestly think that all the people who are complaining about it being too hard to follow just suck at paperfolding. I've folded origami since I was at most five years old, so I understood the terms and techniques he was using and I didn't even really need to look at the video that much; I mostly just relied on his voice and only looked up at the video when he was referencing a specific corner or crease. You probably don't need me to tell you, but you didn't do a poor job editing this video. I think it's simply a case of target audience mismatch: an experienced paperfolder like me can follow along no problem, but the normies of RUclips struggle. Thank you and the rest of your team for a great video!
Jesse Garrard glad you have been folding paper all your life. Not everyone has, and the camera shifts are confusing, because as soon as the camera shifts, most find themselves having to find their place again, and by that time he’s three steps ahead, along with 14 more camera changes ahead. I’ve got a funky origami plane of my original design that I call the F-23 because it vaguely resembles the YF-23 Black Widow. It’s not a phenomenal flier or anything, but it’s cool looking. I also have another one deceptively named Victory. It’s a complex plane with long broad low set wings and a tail and winglets and elevators. If built properly it can fly well, but it’s incredibly temperamental and also has a high chance of not flying particularly well. That said it’s fairly quick and likes to glide off high places with a gentle launch sometimes at a slight downward angle. And then of course you have your classic Flying needle which is an exercise in what happens when you throw a thin heavy thing really hard. It was my first. It’s a joke plane that everybody makes at least once. It’ll put your eye out if you stand in front of it.

The first boomerang plane is not an easy one, but I used to do quite a lot of origami when I was a little younger. I only stopped because eventually I got to the point that, if I wanted to progress further, I'd have to start making my own origami paper, because the size of the square I would need to learn most projects that were harder than what I knew was way bigger than what was readily available, and it still had to be thin and strong. But, I have made the first boomerang plane featured here quite a few times, using different versions of tutorials: diagrams, gifs, videos of varying qualities. This video is a bit harder of a tutorial to use because of how quickly he moves through it, and as a result, this requires a lot of pausing and backtracking. But it's not impossible. Keep practicing. Trust me when I say, this plane does come back. I've done this one several times (even though it's not one of my favorite models, and it's still a little irritating for me), and the boomerang 2 is very similar. That's the one I'm currently working on.
