Hey jacob, don't open the mummy possum. If you do it'll start to rot almost instantly. And it's going to stink bad too.its sealed up now but won't be good to mess with.
Hi Jacob it was nice for you to share your collection of curiosites as well your heartfelt moment with your appreciation to meeting Soo many people throughout your travels. I think maybe for your Figi Mermaid a small plate stand may keep it in an upward position to view better. Also the lites that you have maybe where there are those auction cups maybe adding some small drilling holes and attaching them to the wood with small wood screws may keep the lites more secure for your cabinet. As always keep up the great work you do and we all appreciate the time and the passion you have in your vlogs. Wish you well.
awesome collection very impressive ! so glad you have got to do all those amazing things!! here is to many more happy moments and years with you! Jacob!
I’m glad you got to relive, your precious memories, as you showed us, different objects, & curiosities, while on the tour through your cabinet, and house! I love the cats! What is your favorite two curiosities so far in the cabinet?
The Gorilla tape is awesome stuff! We use it onstage and offstage to hang objects, smaller running lights, costume hangers...GREAT stuff. Love your kitty cat Scarlett!
You are amassing such great experiences and memories that you are becoming an amazing storyteller. That is something that is truly treasured here in Appalachia.
This is such a great treasure trove of memories, and thank you so much for sharing! You may want to look into battery operated string lights for the cabinet too - they'd be pretty atmospheric, especially on that second shelf!
Dude .. it’s awesome you share your personal things . You even shared the wedding of son ... to me your awesome . You are like a friend I never met yet . Thanks for being out there for me and a lot of others .
Thanks for showing us your cabinet of curiosities and some of your mementos, I enjoyed hearing you tell us about them. I wouldn’t mind another video on the other items. 👍
So glad to see that one of the 3d printed Carpetbagger figures survived the postal service. I remember seeing the un boxing video you did and the priority box was crushed on all sides and the 3d prints were broken. But looks like you saved one of them. As for" My Small" RobotHut robot collection, I have over 4000 robots in the hut and have robot collector visitors from all over the world visit. Nice start to the Cabinet of Curiosities !
You sound like you're coming down with a cold, Jacob! But this video was really great, I totally enjoyed seeing all the wonderful items that you hold, care for and cherish in your personal Cabinet of Curiosities! You really are an awesome guy and a wonderful RUclipsr! It must be something to just hold on to a lot of items that you've gotten over the years from your travels, because things like that are one of the sentimental things in life that you'll always have there to cherish and to look back on as either an accomplishment or something to feel happy or to just feel good about! God bless you, Jacob! I look forward to seeing many many other great videos filmed by the Carpetbagger! P.S. I hope that the Gorilla tape works well for your light fixtures, for your cabinet of curiosities! Haha
You can get a small fishbowl for your feedee mermaid. It can be easily propped up inside. You can even decorate the tank with gravel and seashells to add to the aquatic theme.
For the Fiji Mermaid, I think we got one from the same artist. I think it was a BoingBoing link, and we got one of the larger ones, which has a more classic pose. What we did with ours is to find a cheap birdcage, and then attach the model in a decent pose with the thinnest monofilament we could find so it looks like it is swimming in the air in the center of the cage.
If you want to stick the lights on with something heavy duty, try the large snap hangers that are used for hanging pictures. They can hold quite a bit of weight.
Late to the party but I loved your sharing of your Cabinet of Curiosities! Lots of good advice here on helping it look cool. A suggestion for lighting would be to get some flickering battery operated candles. Would look good next to the taxidermied critters.
Consider getting some clear cubes used for action figures to create different levels in your cabinet, that way everything can be seen. I love your Dapper Ducky, I too have one in an easter bonnet!
Hi there Jacob, absolutely love your channel, thanx for sharing your inner sanctuary with us and all your collection, and you never know how it could grow, perhaps one day your grandchildren will be saying "And all this started! With our grandfather Jacob, known as the 'Carpetbagger'. Touring the country collecting these little nuggets of wonder. How cool would that be, anyhoo back to 2019, I sincerely wish we had as many wonderful side shows here in Scotland, unfortunately the only freak show thing is a woman called Nicola Sturgeon who thinks that she owns Scotland and we must obey her every command. So big thanx here from Scotland, and hopefully one day you guy's might turn up.
@@loralee792 thank you so much, it's really great when someone says hello from so far away. Hopefully your having a great day and what a wonderful name: my real name in Scottish is Ruari, nothing to do with Graham, it's my birth name Ruari, but noone likes it so it's Graham, and Ruari from the clan McLeod, one of my ancestors had a romance with a fairy queen but they could never marry, so she gave him a fairy flag, it was used to guarantee victory in any conflict, and could only be used 3times its been used twice, the remnant is on display too this day.
Sorry Loreley I have no nicknames, very interesting your grandfather coming from Scotland originally then Ireland,,do you which part of Scotland he came from? You'll have to excuse me if I don't reply sooner. 2 year's ago I was rushed into hospital after 2strokes and double pneumonia this quickly became severe overwhelming sepsis. Apparently I wasn't expecting to live, so I ended up in a coma for 30days with multi organ failure, then a further 30days in a ward, I've had to learn how to walk, talk eat and swallow. So I'm on a lot of pain killers that make me vety drowsy morphine, diahyracodine plus a few more. But anyhoo thanx for getting in touch and it would be great if you could find out where your grandfather came from originally, funny how a lot of Scottish and Irish people ended up in America, was always a dream of mine but unfortunately life got in the way, anyhoo hope you have a great day and take care.
It was awesome to see the inside of the bunker. Definitely use a doll stand. Metal ones with a plastic tip surrounding the actual.mermaid will protect it. It was neat to see the belts side by side. Totally love the subscriber belt. Have a great week
Maybe like a painted board and then mount it with it's back against the board by either tying it to it with clear fishing wire or something. You could paint the wooden board to look like dank ocean water or better yet get a fish bowl and dress it up to be kind of "antique" style. You could also display it in a "jar of fun" style, sans fluid so that you can see it clearly, just by varnishing the inside of the jar with a yellowy lacquer to give the aged effect.
Some one else made the same suggestion for your mermaid. A doll stand would work they sell them different sizes. Love that doll very cool have not seen one like that since I was a kid. I always wondered if you collected snow globes. Too bad I gave my collection away had a lot of the older ones. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
To fix the handle, go to a hardware store be it local, or one of the bigger chains like Home Depot, take the handle with you so you can size the screws needed. Most stores have bins you can buy screws individually. Also allow for the depth of the door when selecting length. The Handle looks like it has holes in it, so you will need 2 bolts and possibly 2 washers as the holes appear to be worn from use. Assemble from there. Option 2 is to buy a new handle (measure the length between holes) with the metal prongs that will fit into the holes and washers to keep it from coming out and screw it in place. Hardware stores have handles that have an antique look to them. Michael's has doll stands that can prop up the Fiji Mermaid.
Thank you for sharing :) SO many funky items! A tiny doll stand for your Fiji mermaid would work. I liked your story behind the opossum skull. Last winter I found a raccoon skeleton left by coyotes in the woods near our home and figured out (with the help of google) how to clean and preserve the skull. Maybe one day I will be able to get a taxidermy one. Keep up the great work and awesome adventures!
That was just grand! Just like the 18th century ones over here! Give my love to Kristi. Cee from kenndyrain and the little haunted cottage in Ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
Hey Jacob, if you continue to have issues with the lights sticking; you may want to use a deglosser in the area you will place the lights. You can find this in the paint area of hardware store. Test in inconspicuous area. Some old varnishes really cause problems with adhesion. Good luck and let me know if ever in VA for meet up!
Great video , I love seeing all your treasures . thanks for the shout out. Put an empty soup can under the back lip of Dillinger to display him at an angle so he can be enjoyed without opening the cabinet. To display the things that wont stand by themselves like the Fiji Mermaid , get craft sticks aka popsicle sticks and white glue a half stick cross base and then glue a full stick upright and paint it black then hot glue stick the item to Ht. thanks Erick Erickson
There are quite a number of various internal lighting options for your cabinet, all very simple and inexpensive. You might look into some art lighting and auto interior accessory lighting options-they can be as simple or elaborate as you want, and most don’t require any carpentry skill: just use double sided adhesive to mount the lights into the corners!
Protip on the jars for anyone making wet specimens. You inject all major organs with formaldehyde or formalin and then put it in a 70/30 mix of alcohol and water.
You have a lot of neat stuff there. Your cats were curious about it and, are cute too. You could get some 3M double sided tape to hold the light up with.
This is really neat I think it was the science channel had a reality show called oddities I loved watching that and the people that work there were interesting With two pairs of pliers and an old wire coat hanger you could probably come up with something to hold your crypt keeper mermaid doll
On the snow globe, I'm guessing the water leaks out as more like water vapor or humidity than as liquid water and over time, so you would not notice it leaking through until it was quite far down in the globe.
You could always wrap a wire around the middle of the mermaid and against a wooden pole...but as other people are saying, a doll stand might be better. Also, I think it would be cooler if you displayed two faces on the doll at once.
Jacob 2 quick hacks for you one is take wooden toothpicks and break them off in your door handle hole than use 2 small screws to hold them on, and for your mermaid take a wire hanger and bend the hanger top 90 degrees measure up how much to reach under her arms and add a bit more make a circle with it and set up you mermaid on her own stand ..
For the lighting If you use the stick on lights you could use either a uv glue like five second fix or you could use finger nail glue or other sinocrylic or silicone construction glue. If you were willing to drill a hole in back panel you can use led light strips or led light rope, they have both battery operated as well as plug in versions , You can also get both trimmable or connectable versions. You would only need to drill the holes probably just for the plug in versions, The rope or ribbon versions could either be taped to top panels or you could also use small cup hooks to hang the lights, the hooks can be bought as either screw in versions or suction cup versions.
Metal clips to hold your lights. You can attach them over the end of the shelf if they are small/thin enough the door should still close. In a pinch bent paperclips might work. Not sure how well gorilla glue is going to stay stuck to varnished wood... depending I suppose on the humidity where you are at. No apple shrunken heads? One of the weirdest dolls to me is those corn husk dolls... just seems bizarre maybe it's me. Thanks for sharing your cool collection of creepy curiosities.
A doll stand or barbie doll stand would probably hold up your mermaid better for the display
Its been said but a doll stand could easly hold your mermaid
Omg your cat in the cabinet cracked me up. Cats are very curious! Lol
Some mini lights inside the cabinet would go a long way! It would be a shame to keep such fun things in the dark!
I just love a glimpse into the Bunker! Especially with the kitty interactions!
Scarlet is curious about your curiosities...cool collection with stories attached
awesome collection very impressive ! so glad you have got to do all those amazing things!! here is to many more happy moments and years with you! Jacob!
I’m glad you got to relive, your precious memories, as you showed us, different objects, & curiosities, while on the tour through your cabinet, and house!
I love the cats!
What is your favorite two curiosities so far in the cabinet?
Sentimental journey. Nice!
Try Velcro to hold your lights up,
Jealous of that bunker! Just joined Paetreon, please use my first $3 to buy a lid for the “poop and paws” jar!
I also have one of those triple faced bisque baby dolls. Mine is haunted, that I know. There were popular in the 1980s.
The Gorilla tape is awesome stuff! We use it onstage and offstage to hang objects, smaller running lights, costume hangers...GREAT stuff.
Love your kitty cat Scarlett!
Scarlet thinks the curiosity cabinet is a good place for her to be curious. 😃
Love the cabinet, great choice. And love the things inside even more!
You are amassing such great experiences and memories that you are becoming an amazing storyteller. That is something that is truly treasured here in Appalachia.

Use fishing line to hang the mermaid. It will look like it's floating
Fell in love with Scarlett! More videos featuring her, please 😻
I have daughters so I would suggest a barbie doll stand for the mermaid. Anna have any old ones? I know my girls had monster high doll stands.
You should take a trip to Niagara Falls and go to the Nightmares Fear Factory!

7:23 That’s a 13-lined ground squirrel.
Excellent one Jacob 😁👍🏻
I love this video. Thanks for sharing! :)
You can get a small fishbowl for your feedee mermaid. It can be easily propped up inside. You can even decorate the tank with gravel and seashells to add to the aquatic theme.

Good to see the CarpetBunker! I hope that you some day have a museum/roadside attraction of your travels.
Glad you share this....it was interesting...God bless always...😃 ❤
Use playdoh for your fiji mermaid stand. Shape it and then let it dry out for a few days.
A small plate stand might do the job, depending on the width of the tail.
I love your cabinet of curiosities! The haunted face changing doll is my favorite! Awesome!
Your fish tank is still Awesome!.....
I adore the Duck with pink Ribbon, so sweet.
If you want to stick the lights on with something heavy duty, try the large snap hangers that are used for hanging pictures. They can hold quite a bit of weight.
Awesome stuff! That’s a thirteen-lined ground squirrel. They run amok all over here in Michigan.
I enjoyed this one Bagman! Saw the spaceman from my old hood the Launching Pad! That 72 oz steak was amazing!!
Someone should visit you and upload it on their channel. Such lovely memories and things that you've collected over the years.
I cannot believe you have a piece of Smarf from Too Many Cooks......that's just incredible
Late to the party but I loved your sharing of your Cabinet of Curiosities! Lots of good advice here on helping it look cool. A suggestion for lighting would be to get some flickering battery operated candles. Would look good next to the taxidermied critters.

One day you'll walk in and that doll will have a different face.
Hi Jacob, very awesome collections of your cabinet of Curiosities! Like your curio cabinet and cat!
That doll might not be haunted but its creepy!
Awesome video thank you for sharing
Hi Carpetbagger! Your cats cutes chasing a shadow. Awesome curiosities. Great video

I love personal videos like these. Please do more videos like this one
It was awesome to see the inside of the bunker. Definitely use a doll stand. Metal ones with a plastic tip surrounding the actual.mermaid will protect it. It was neat to see the belts side by side. Totally love the subscriber belt. Have a great week
The cabinet is very very old Jacob! Make sure to take care of it's glass!! Lovely collection!
Come on up to wv this October and check out lake Shawnee haunted amusement park. (Out side of Princeton WV)

You need a little doll stand for mermaid and try the small screw in gold hooks for lights

Hi how are you. 💚
An old fashioned pipe stand would probably work for your figi mermaid and would look cool!
Cool stuff Jacob - thanks for sharing!

Glass cabinates mmm 🤓👍. Good idea ..they do produce doll stands all sizes ask Annabel . A trip to the toy section, will fix that issue with merman

Your “Froggy” is a cane toad. I have one like it that I bought when I lived in Queensland, Australia. The label on the bottle reads “Toad Rum”.
If you ever come up to Raleigh, bring your Fiji mermaid and we can make a stand for it for you. Just let me know.
Protip on the jars for anyone making wet specimens. You inject all major organs with formaldehyde or formalin and then put it in a 70/30 mix of alcohol and water.
I made my own stand for holding up figurines with some craft wire and pliers, it's not the most elegant display but it works 😁
You could use fishing line for the Fiji mermaid. Tie the fishing line around it, then use a thumbtack and stick it in the shelf above.
You have a lot of neat stuff there. Your cats were curious about it and, are cute too. You could get some 3M double sided tape to hold the light up with.

You are awesome! I love this collection
Hey Jacob, how you doing? Here's just a suggestion on one way to light up your nice cabinet is maybe with those fake candles that you can get!
That badger is so fun to look at glad you got it
Such a wonderful collection. Such memories !
I love the dapper duck!
U should get a small doll stand at hobby lobby or Joann’s to display your mermaid
You can get doll stands and for smaller ones figure stands . Led strip lights are good to .
You've got me SO interested in curiosity cabinets & oddities now too that I'm also creating my own! :) Love your cabinet!
The shrunken head snowglobe is so cool.
You could get some sort of holder like doll collectors use to display dolls for your Fiji Mermaid!
your RUclips career pays more then money.
I like you first and foremost because your down to earth, that among many other reasons. keep the real going.
Jacob thanks for sharing bro. I really enjoy watching your videos, keeping coming! ;-)
You need to get your hands on a Zoltar.
Think I saw a small one near the armadillo.
I will be sure to gift you some more jars of fun when you make your TAP Wrestling return!
Very neat collection!
On the snow globe, I'm guessing the water leaks out as more like water vapor or humidity than as liquid water and over time, so you would not notice it leaking through until it was quite far down in the globe.

Jacob 2 quick hacks for you one is take wooden toothpicks and break them off in your door handle hole than use 2 small screws to hold them on, and for your mermaid take a wire hanger and bend the hanger top 90 degrees measure up how much to reach under her arms and add a bit more make a circle with it and set up you mermaid on her own stand ..
you are the only youtuber i'd love to meet and have my pit helmet singed
Ahhh to fun , thanks for sharing!
Thank god your videos are not just about about fun parks .
Hey jacob for your figi mermaid find a clear glass vase or cylinder and hang the hands over the rim
i would get a mini doll stand for your small figi mermaid! amazing collection jacob!!
a wood block of that scale size with a slot for the tale to slide in will hold your mermaid upright.
I remember that episode when Adam got that olmec head, it was the last one at the statue store.
