  • Thai Milk Tea or Cha Yen as it is known in Thailand is a seriously popular drink. You'll find the full easy print recipe at bit.ly/milkteathai
    Cha yen is sweet, cold, aromatic and super tasty. Found on every Thai street corner and in any busy soi, vendors have boba to add too along with plenty of ice.
    It is quite easy to make but you do need to equip yourself with a few things and of course by the authentic Thai Tea Mix to get started. But it is a heap of fun for everyone adding boba and sucking up the tapioca pearls through an oversized straw. You have to try it!
    I put together a special kit just for Thai Iced Tea and Boba Tea over at kit.com - check it out using the link below.

    This is so well explained, thank you, a quick question: if you want to make this warm without the ice, how much water should be added?

    Thank you for your wonderful recipe. It was so tasty. My boba did not taste sweet to the bite which is what I'm used to. I used caramel sauce recipe but the caramel did not get absorbed into the boba. I let it soak for about 20 mins. Was that my mistake? Thank you!

      If you followed the video, then the brown sugar should be absorbed into the boba. If you did anything early or too soon then that is probably why it went wrong.

    How many ml of hot water when you at in Thai tea thanks

    • @TastyThaiFood
      @TastyThaiFood  4 года назад

      Hi. Use about half a cup (about 120ml) of drinkiing water to 1 teaspoon of Thai tea mix. The water is passed through a straining sock multiple times to get a strong brew which you need as it is later diluted with the added milk mixture. You can learn more in our post on the website at bit.ly/milkteathai

    what is Boba?

    • @TastyThaiFood
      @TastyThaiFood  4 года назад +1

      Boba is tapioca starch which is formed into round balls with a firm chewy jelly-like consistency, They are frequently served in drinks served with large bore straws which you can have fun chasing the balls around trying to suck them up the straw as you enjoy your drink. They are also sometimes served with other sweet offerings such as puddings etc., and coloured to make them pretty to look at.
