One of the best and informative videos on playing the IG game. I'm disappointed that all IG has become is sell, sell, sell. It would be great if it was more integrated with actual 2-way dynamic visual/aural communications. The IG experience feels more and more boringly gratuitous to me, and I find less and less interest. That makes me dismissive as it's such a lost opportunity for more than just "buy this" selling. A deeper, more multi-layered and social presence actually can promote more commerce. You touched on it lightly, I appreciate that.
Thank you! And I totally know what you mean with Instagram just being sell sell sell, but the way I look at it is very difficult and way more human. This way it's about creating a strong community. ;)
Great info Thanks for sharing. BTW thank you for liking my jewelry on Instagram. It means a lot when I watch your videos and see I caught your eye on my pieces.
Hi Donna, you're so welcome. I'm glad to hear that you are getting some value from the videos! And you're welcome, you have some lovely pieces. Just about to reply to your email too. ;)
OMG the best video I have ever watch from you! Thank you, you are so hired!!! for a consult once the timing is there for me :) I am working on creating stock and Uping my skills. I have outsourced my website to a friend with better skills in that area :) Thanks for the amazing content!
Ahhh yay!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! If you liked this, Module 8 of my CSA Course has loads more!!! This is just scraping the surface. And I'd love to welcome you when the time is right for you. Loving your excitement and passion! Excited for you taking things into your own hands! Let me know when your website is out. Would love to have a look. ;)
I’ve been buying equipment and tools for my Studio. I’m wondering what Rolling Mill would you recommend. I bought $500 on Etsy from one guy. Not real happy with what I purchased. I have a some money left for my metal smithing equipment & tools. I keep seeing your blue rolling mill in your videos. I saw some that looks like the one in your Studio but they weren’t what I was looking for. Does that make sense? I appreciate your videos. Thank you for all your info and shares. Thinking about taking one of your courses!
Hi Deborah, how exciting that you are getting your studio set up! In terms of rolling mills, everyone loves the Durston rolling mill. They are quite expensive though. But could be worth looking at different ones and different size ones. They usually have the possibility to mill wire into different profiles etc. Mine can't do that. But it depends what you are Looking to do. 😉 And if you're thinking about joining my Consistent Sales Academy and have any questions and would like to chat about it, feel free to send me an email - megan@megancollins.co and we can find a time that works for us both. Wishing you a wonderful day further, Megan
what if you have two styles or brands of jewelry that you like and make? Two completely different brands....... I make boho hippie style rings and necklaces AND I like doing the simple , clean plainer rings and necklaces. Can you or should you combine or do seprate ????// Or give up one brand???
Very good question! That requires a more in depth answer and is the kind of questions I help my 1:1s with. It's all about getting clear on your brand pillars and what your brand stands for.
Very valuable info, thank you for sharing, I will definitely give krisp a try😃 I heard that these dormant gems accounts following me are also detrimental, even though they don’t get a follow back..🤷♀️
Hiya Megan, I don't think I'll ever understand all the 'new to me' social media, so I'm getting help from some local younger people. I don't think it would be appropriate to use a 9-year-old, but they know most! Hehehe. This is all good stuff, and I even understood every 5th word, or so. Stay safe, Steve...
Thanks for watching. I know this one may not have been as helpful to you specifically, but I know a lot of people struggle with it. It's totally ok if you choose not to use it though. ;) Stay safe, Megan
@@megan.collinsI want to use social media, it's just a case of getting the right help. The video was a great help as I now understand a bit more, and it all helps. Stay safe, Steve...
I do find that most of my followers on social media are other jewellers or makers. It seems that many potential customers have private accounts and so how can I target them if I don't know anything about them? Many potential customers feeds may just be pictures from their life so it seems odd to follow them or know if they would like my stuff. Is the answer just to put lots of reels and stories out there, hoping to draw people in? I do follow profiles who are similar to me hoping that I will somehow reach their audience too. Does Instagram work like that??
I hear you Deb. ;) I used to be too! I grew up on a mountain with no technology and still used to hand write my uni essays hahaha! But I managed to improve my skills over the years! 😅
Hiya Deb, I'm so with you, I've found someone local that can help me. He is going to make a logo for my site, and I hope he'll help me with setting up my sites. Yes, it will all cost me, but I'm realising that if I don't I'll be the one missing out. If you ain't in it... Stay safe, Steve...
There are different ways. One is by buying them. - look at the engagement on their posts and if it's really low, this is possibly why. Or they just have really good content that people love! Evident by looking at the comments. Or they did follow for follow and unfollowed a lot.

Your Photography class is lots of great info ! So worth it !!
Aah! Thanks so much for your lovely comment! So glad you are getting value from the course! 🤗
Way above my head algorithms etc. I know what they are, but keeping up with the latest changes seems so tiring. Thanks Megan. Interesting.
Yes, it sure is, but it's such a super great tool if you know how to use it.
Love the advice you gave about using larger photos for the purpose of not leaving room for an additional preview of another!
Thanks for sharing! Yes! It sounds like such a small thing, but can have an impact. ;)
You're real dear Megan, thank you 🙏

Hi Sue, I'd recommend using hashtag searches of key words and then going to recent and engaging there. 😉
What camera do you use?
There's a link in the description of the cameras I use. 😉

How do people all of a sudden have 14K Instagram followers and they only follow 378? Are they using a service to get followers?
