    I love Barrett-Jackson, I wish I could physically participate! Thank you everyone! I was in the service station business for about 13 years, over the course of 22 years starting in 1968!

      That was when they had full service, check your oil sir? I was 11 in 68 and still remember the off brand gas stations having price wars and they were in the low 30 cent range. My Dad has a 62 convertible Tbird. Man I wish I had that car now and gas was 30 cents.

    I should have kept all the cars I once owned. I had the ‘78 version of that T/A exactly the same but without T-tops. I never would have thought it would bring $100K.

    in 1970 my dad bought a 1966 Pontiac LeMans 2d (18,000 miles) in that same purple as the thumbnail in almost mint condition for 900.00. We drove that car for years and then he sold it in 1978 with about 55,000 miles on it for I think 600.00 but it was still as straight as the one at 4:06:45 that sold for a 100K today. I am sad now :(

      Why did you get rid of them if you like them so much? Honest question. Odds are good that you didn’t own these simultaneously. Probably sold one for the other again and again. I was born in 1982, so as a child, these were cars people simply didn’t want, while those from the 50s and older were sought after.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk 2 года назад +2

      Did you do the work yourself? Because that sounds like you’re a checkbook restorer. Either you’ve paid someone to do absolutely everything to a rusted out shell, or you bought one of these off BJ. After investing $150k on something like that, you aren’t going to drive it, which is a shame. BelAirs are functional pieces of art.

    What do you with such a car! Tour it around to car shows? You can't drive it day to day! I'm wondering why other people aren't making and driving a Troy Reed magnetic motor car? With all the gears heads out here! Or why someone hasn't made a self charging EV? Kids are doing it! Clearly the car companies won't make one! All they want to do is charge you an average of $55 grand for an EV. With the average person making about $30,100 dollars, this eliminates a lot of buyers!
