Let's Play Planet Coaster - Studios Park - Episode 8 - JAWS: The Ride

- In this series I build a studios inspired park using the studios pack DLC released by Planet Coaster. Throughout the series I'll be building a wide variety of different rides and attractions all with a movie based feel. Along with building some fantastic roller coasters and water rides, I'll have a huge focus on dark rides using some of the fantastic new ride types available in the game.
Throughout the series you'll be able to get involved by suggesting what should be built next, ride names and much more! To participate, share your thoughts in the comments section on this video.
In this episode I start work on my biggest project to date here in Volcano Bay Studios. I'll be starting construction on JAWS: The Ride, a highly detailed boat ride with a twist. Along with installing the ride and landscaping, in this episode I start to add the scenes and theming around the ride. In this next episode I'll finish the ride along with working on the Amity Island area of the park.

Could you build a well themed, Jurassic park style rapids/ water coaster which could also include a dark ride section? That would be awesome. Keep up the good work Shawn!
I was thinking you could add a Jurassic park/world aswell possibly a dark ride to add an extra fright to a ride. Although I am commenting in 2020 so the series will probably over 😅

After this attraction, I believe that a family area should be next (maybe something like a Toontown, with a junior coaster such as Gadgets Go Coaster and a dark ride such as Rodger Rabbit. Maybe even a few walkthroughs or some meet-and-greet locations.) Thank you, and have a great day!

The new idea for the drop tower

Long ago the old tour master lived in a mansion, people flocked on his tours to see the legendary giant shark, but one day a whole boat was destroyed! People grew suspicious after two more boat attacks, the tour master met a horrible fate as people stormed his manor and murdered him in revenge for their lost family and friends, to this day, people report hauntings from his furious soul, seeking revenge for his death, will you escape his vengeful ghost?

This is basically the theme and story of the original JAWS ride at Universal
It's similar but my own take on it
Theme Park Worldwide it's not really your take on the ride. Everything that you were claiming that you came up with was part of the actual ride. I would recommend stop trying to pass other peoples ideas off as your own. I have no problem with the fact that you want to recreate this classic universal attraction, what I do have a problem with is that your claiming that at your claiming that you came up with the ride idea when every one of those ideas was in the actual attraction.
Florida Attractions yeah but it’s not though. It’s a video game not an actual theme park. It’s hard to actually make an original attraction based on 1 single film that’s already been made. What does it even matter to you anyway, again it’s a video game not an actual ride bringing in money. It’s just fun come on...

WHO DARES TO DISLIKE THIS MASTERPIECE?!?!??!
Ok so I'm gonna ramble about some stuff but hear me out. So I went to Legoland Billund for the weekend with the family and one thing my mother really noticed about the park's western area was that there was so much life in the area, it felt like a nice area to be in. Now why is that? Well according to her it's because every building has a purpose, which makes sense. There is life in every corner because there is something happening at every corner which makes the whole area feel better. If she (and I) were to design the entrance area for the jaws ride we would probably have the path lead all the way up towards the loading area but have some of the buildings used for cafe's, restrooms and souvenir shops. Little things like that really helps evolve an area into something better. I hope we can see something like that in this park (though it would require some changes but hey I just hope this helps with either this park or a future one

Fishtitan I was thinking more like Cafe's and facilities that people would actually use. It means people will walk around the area more and therefore make it feel more lively. I mean I have seen this play out with my own eyes comparing the Western areas of 2 parks I've visited. One has something for the guest in every building while the other one is mostly just empty facades with one or two things to do and the one with something in every building was much more lively and felt nicer to be in.
Been to Thorpe Park today, so when you said "Amity Bay", the town from JWWS didn't even cross my mind...
It's amazing to see what people can do in Planet Coaster. Great job! I also noticed the Helix music.

Please do a launched rollercoaster themed around time travel as in travelling through different ages!! 😁 loving this series btw! Also I noticed the wicker man theme in the background, I think it goes rlly well with these videos!

This is amazing Shawn, truly a great take on USF's old Jaws ride. Maybe next, try adding a ride based on The Matrix. Maybe it could start off as a walkthrough, with the entrance part of the apocalyptic, machine ruled world, and you walk through it until you find Morpheus' rebel ship where he gets you to board a vehicle (the equivalent of putting you to sleep in the films) which takes you into the dreamworld simulation of the film. This part of the ride is a highly themed launched coaster. Here, you'll face Agent Smith etc as you go on a journey that leads you to rebooting The Matrix and saving the world.
JLM 2002 And I would want it to be using the Cube flat ride system.

When you finish this series you should do a full on thrill seekers park. Complete with huge roller coasters and other big thrill attractions

Maybe for the grenade launcher cue, add some water effects and explosions, then push the dead shark back a bit? I feel like that would be pretty cool for the ride. Great work on the park by the way!

You should make a Chinese/Japanese themed area where you can have like an anime ride with glitter and all that jazz!!
Have it so at the end the shark hits a barrel of dynamite with some crates and it explodes the shark. Also the shark could swim along and then go under water in front of the water tower so it looks like it knocks it over ( you would have to put it half in the water though )
Should put a (possibly just decorative) beach area somewhere in the park if it's gonna be Amity Island themed! Maybe to close off the right side of the park.

Perhaps you know but its actually music from Grieg's Peer Gynt. So in my opinion it would fit something with some Norse mythology theme alot more :p
Another suggestion I have is that in your drop ride, you should put a forest in place of the 2nd cellar, and that's how the public makes their escape. There are some evil trees that you could use. In The Sinister Mansion at Volcano Springs, you didn't use them in the forest section there. But you don't need to do that, just a suggestion.
P.S.
I forget to say, you could also use those reaper-looking props in the forest and cellar.

Maybe on the boat ride the tour person calls for a safety boat and that could have the boss on it. And then maybe the safety boat could get eaten by JAWS
This is very cool, but I’d say having one recurring shark instead for multiple sharks at once would make it scarier

this was really cool but I feel like he could of worked on the shark placement a bit more it made it look like there was more than one shark
part of what made the jaws movies so good was that they didn’t have sharks show up every five seconds so it made the shark scenes more enigmatic

Great scenes here! The use of Fog/mist would enhance some of the sections to create an eerie sense of dread, and could also be used to hide elements until the last possible moment! Just a thought.
I plan to add mist in the ride next!

With the drop tower you could stick with the kinda theme with tower of terror but with amity hotel with the elevator getting stuck and it falling
Other ideas there could be an leakage at the bottom that links to the boat ride and jaws is at the bottom ????
That water tower should have a trigger to fall over as you come past

You should do a launched roller coaster called "SiegeFire." It's back-story could be this: "A long time ago, there once were two kingdoms that were always fighting, but the one of the them, kept winning, and stealing the other side's glory and happiness. And once they were fully defeated, they promised that they would one day come back and destroy the winning side. So after time passed, the losing side finally came back, but this time, with the treasure of the god Atlas, an ancient idol.. And they used that to forever curse the used-to-be-winning side. And that brought pain and weakness to them, and they got locked away into the depths of the castle. They now want you and the rest of the public to investigate, and give them back what was rightfully theirs. But beware; that idol summoned demons and dark creatures that still lurk. And the one rule the kingdom has for you: DO NOT ENTER THE DUNGEON." One of the parts in the ride could be were a knight says "YOU DIDN'T LISTEN. I REPEAT: DO NOT ENTER THE DUNGEON!!!!" And then you launch into the dungeon.
