- Driving the 2021 hardtop convertible corvette on the race track. This is in the afternoon when things got warmer and people went home so I had the track to myself. It should do 55s in the morning IF there's no traffic.
Crazy how tame it is, nice neutral steering in the corners, very predictable when it starts losing grip. Awesome machine
Sure, but give credit to the driver, because a lot of what you described is thanks to his smooth inputs.
Dude, revisiting this video. What a fluid dance partner (credit to the driver zentrose) it was hypnotic in the nicest way possible. Very cool. Everything looks well translated and progressive in its handling behavior. Crazy Hes going very fast yet in a stable and gentle flow state of under neutral and over steer.
Awesome to see c8 track content!
Incredible lap.
This guy knows how to maximize that car, wow! Looks easy on video but you have to have big you know what to drive this fast! Kudos!
Thanks 👍
Man you are a hell of a driver
I’ve never driven around a track before this looks both fun and scary
If you like tracking your C8 you might consider the Speedway Composites Chassis X Strut Brace. It improves lap times considerably and looks great. For top down cruising they have Wind Screens. Plus several products to keep dust and water off the engine and increase cabin storage!
1:45 was insane. I wouldve spun out there 100%
Nice driving. Shocking how little steering angle is required.
Using that mid-engine layout to commit in places that would terrify me with front-engine placement. Nice!
Also seeing as you owned and track most modern generations of corvette how would you rank on and off road?
Very very nice upgrade from the Miata! What's the plan with this one? Isn't the car market supposedly crashing right now Zent?
Yes. This car was sitting in my hangar and I needed to unload it but wanted to track it first. It literally went straight to auction after this track event.
Good driving. Car looks like a handful at times.
Yes it loves to rotate. Such a fun car!
@@ZentRose what TC setting are you using. I made the mistake of using sport2 last time I was at BW.
@@iewsemaj I selected track mode then I put it into competitive driving mode.
What tires and brake pads are you running. Stock?
@@jameslynch2372 Nankang CRS. Stock brake pads
You said below you were in Track Mode, competitive driving mode, but which one, Sport, Race 1 or Race 2? Great car control btw, gonna hit that track on Dec. 17th with SpeedVentures
My best time in my previous car, 2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe is a 2:00, this will be my first time in my vette.
I didn’t have PTM on this car so I couldn’t choose between sport, race 1 and race 2. I would start with sport.
@@ZentRose ah ha gotcha, that was my plan, I know the course but not the car. Thanks for the reply! Hope to see ya out there one of these days.
How do the brive by wire brakes feel at the limit? Dealbreaker?
It looks fun but I get why you say it’s tricky to drive on the limit
Yep a little tricky but it’s a total blast to throw this car around 😁
Just found this video but I’m curious to know if this was using the track alignment or if you had any other slight modifications that helped it to oversteer at times. I’ve been heavily considering a C8 but worried about its understeer nature on track, many reviewers make it out to be a pretty big issue.
Yes I have track alignment settings. Handling balance is fine
I was just tracking my C8 at button willow last weekend. Was down in the low 2:03-5 range but had really bad brake fade into turn 2. Upgrade the fluid and pads prior to the event but did not put it in competitive driving mode, only track mode. My research is saying the brake pedal feel changes in competitive driving mode. Have you tried just track mode with the TC/ESC on?
I did not try in track mode with TC on. Maybe that was causing your brake issue? I was on stock pads and I destroyed them at this event.
!!! ❤❤❤
Seems tail-happy for a mid-engine car. But I've never really driven a mid-engine car...at least one with power. (Think 80's MR2).
Ive actually heard the opposite. Usually too much understeer
Jeez.
Hey how did you get the overlay from garmin isolated?
I just masked it in Final Cut Pro, then overlayed it
If you want to improve C8 lap times you need a Speedway Composites Chassis Strut X Brace, improves chassis rigidity by 8% and lap times by 1%.
go away shill, no one wants your scrap metal
