I don't even know him and I don't even play SF6 but I was at the edge of my seat watching him. I was cheering for him like I knew him for a long time like, you got this man! Was rooting for him and Endingwalker. After that, I instantly bought SF6 and I'm in the lab for 20 hours total game time already. Punk's win truly is inspirational!

I know people will mostly talk about top 6 and Grand Finals, but I really appreciate 11:39. As someone from NZ, if I were to go to Evo (especially Las Vegas, THE Evo) it would probably only be once as it would be hella expensive, so I appreciate that he would take the time, in case they don't have the chance to go to Evo again, much love to the homie Punk, you a real one and grinded hard for your championship after so many years!

To be honest initially I thought it was kinda cringe Punk vlogging with cameras on him during the Evo live stream, but now I see how amazing it actually was from his perspective, I felt like I was the one walking there and could feel all that energy.
Was curious. Why didn't they keep it Top 8?
@@willn8664 To still have time for ads, special events/announcements, and setting up games without going over schedule at the venue.
This year might've been okay on time with Top 8s. But, there have been years where the last tournament ends around midnight. Especially, during years where longer games like DBFZ are a main game, cause one year they ended Saturday finals at like 2 or 3 am.
The other 2 people in each Top 8 still at least get a medal, I think. But unfortunately, don't get to play in the arena, now.

This was actually pretty helpful for me as it’s only my 2nd year competing in Street Fighter since SF6 dropped. Never been to a big offline tournament yet & I now got an idea of what it’s like and why it’s so cool to attend even if you’re not in contention for a championship.
You were 1 of the 1st names, if not the 1st, I heard of being the prominent Top Street Fighters and this EVO win only emphasizes how hard you work and deserve it as well as the title of being The Best. I'm glad u gave us a POV of how it is coming out onto the main stage of the biggest FG tournament in the world! I felt that energy of the crowd roaring even though they weren't calling my name and it got my blood pumping! Must be even more amazing making it on to that stage, no wonder Ending Walker was a bit nervous😅. Glad he was able to relax and play well. As well as you seeming to be a bit more relaxed and taking your time in between rounds/matches instead of rushing back in.
What changed, anything specific like maybe advice from other people players, or just maturing/figuring it out yourself from being in the situation so many times, etc?

EVO was my very first gaming event and I had an incredible time! When SF6 released it brought a resurgence of passion I had for fighting games and I remember watching EVO 2023 on stream and didn't know anybody but top six had only 1 dude representing USA and it was you Punk so I said that's my guy. Fast forward a year later I now know soo many names of people in the FGC and enjoy there content as well but I would of never of thought I would have the opportunity of a life time to see you take first at EVO! Congratulations Punk I was soo happy that night it was epic! I will never forget. Also I ate at the Wynn as well and no joke that buffet is amazing, even the damn butter for the crab was the best I've ever had lol.
