  • The very first daytime episode of The Price is Right with Bob Barker from 1972, now remastered in 1080p and with massive video quality improvements. The daytime TV franchise, now in it's 51st year, began with this show on September the 4th, 1972. Original network commercials (and the PSAs that aired on the network feed that were covered by local ads) are included. The first three games ever played on the show? The Any Number game, Bonus Game, and Double Prices. All three are still in the rotation to this day.
About a decade ago, I posted my copy of the first episode of the daytime Price is Right to RUclips, however I eventually had to take it down. The cop(ies) that have circulated since then are copies of my copies, obtained from downloads and trades. Supplanting that older more washed out copy (and the copy of a copy of a copy that's on RUclips, with VQ issues), here's my full HD 1080p copy.
(Accidentally uploaded my "old but still better than RUclips" copy this morning. This is the one I MEANT to post)

@@tonycrabtree3416 My take on the "I don't trust you" was that (1) Bob was still doing "Truth or Consequences" at the time where tricks were sometimes played on contestants and (2) players had to give up winnings on the similar "Let's Make a Deal" to play in the final round. Connie needed have worried; The car and fur were hers to keep even though she didn't win the showcase.

Bob barker and Peter Tomarken inspired me as a child to speak in front of people. I always wanted to be a game show announcer and/or host when I grew up in the 80s. I'm finally living that dream as a youth sports announcer in my hometown. Don't make much on it, but boy is it rewarding.

The very first contestant won a new car! I grew up in the eighties and I used to watch the Price is Right with Bob Barker all the time. Good times.

I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid, loved it! Bob Barker was always a class act, his smile when Connie squeezed him while hugging him, cute! I was born the month before this episode aired.

Ah, hearing the only real Price is Right theme again actually gave me chills. I know the show existed before and after Bob Barker hosted it, but in the eyes of any real Price is Right fan, the show started with this episode and ended with his final episode.

@@FCUK-this is a newer version of the show. It existed beforehand and Bob talks about it at the beginning of the show.

The same games were played in his final episode, but in the reverse order, and Bill Cullen hosted the original Price is Right.
