You have experienced such a life changing journey, hugs to you. Very sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. I took have a huge hole in my heart, it's be even two years and I can't look at a photo or wake up each morning without losing her all over again. I'm happy to hear that you have another job that you love so much 😊 you are wonderful at what you do and your reviews reach so many of us who are looking for inspiration to better ourselves. Your lift looks amazing!! I've had cosmetic surgery myself, for me and I'm happy about my decision. Wow, you have been through a lot in a short period of time 😕 I lost my mom 20 years ago and while the pain subsides a bit over time, I still miss her terribly. I also have been divorced after 17 years but that was the best decision I ever made. I can relate about the change, I was living on my own for the first time in my life. I didn’t even know how to grocery shop for 1 person. But don’t give up on relationships! I too had decided no more after my divorce but then met the love of my life. We’ve been married 15 years now and I have never been happier.
My life goal is to live in a 55+ community! Lol. I am 56 so I can but we’ve put so much into our house, I am not ready to sell yet.
I am wishing you the very best in this new chapter of your life, I know you will be great. You have such a good attitude. Congrats on the weight loss and rejuvenating yourself, you look absolutely fantastic!! You should be a life coach, well, I guess you kind of are 😊 ❤️

I have bought from and follow Frannie’s Hair. Frannie had a video presence as Frannie’s Square and then got into wigs. She has dived into wig sales and service with her whole heart. She’s wonderful!

Thanks for being so candid about what’s been going on in your life, especially the face lift. I think as women, as we age, we just want to continue too feel good about how we look. It’s something I’ve always cared about and it’s not a bad thing. Also, your club at your new place sounds amazing! We are very involved with ours and I love it! Marlene, thank you so much for sharing your story with all of us! I respect you for all you do for us. So sorry for the loss of your mom, it’s a HUGE loss! My mom was my BEST friend and I lost her many years before she passed away because she had the dreaded Alzheimer’s for 11 years. It’s the worst! As far as Wig Studio 1 goes I truly feel that is their loss!!! You sound like you’ve found your new path forward and your new home sounds wonderful! Can’t wait for you to share some photos!

It broke my heart when I heard more about your previous employer (what really happened). Huge loss on their end. Honestly, you were one of the main reasons that I bought from them. Now, it's Frannie's Hair only (she is such an awesome lady)! Thanks for the update. I lost both my parents to Alzheimer's about a year ago. I'm now just finally feeling like myself again, so I understand how grieving takes time. Sending love and hugs your way.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen you for a while....happy to hear you're getting through all these life issues. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I, too, was very close to my mother and lost her several years ago, feel I'll never really ever get over it. The job loss was a clincher, sounds like without much of an explanation, terrible. Good luck with all your endeavors, Frannie's will be a good place for you (I did see some of your comments on her site and was pleasantly surprised). The facelift and weight loss was a big surprise but again, you nailed it! Good luck with everything.

Hi Marlene! I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s illness and passing. My mom passed away just a couple of weeks before I was to move to Kansas from Puerto Rico. It was such a sad, difficult time for me, so I hope you’ll always be kind and gentle with yourself. Give yourself the love your mom always did. You look beautiful and not swollen at all. When I first started the video I thought you looked so gorgeous, but I just thought it was you being your gorgeous self. Best of luck with this new chapter in your life. @@MarleneFabGlamOver50 do you mind if I asked where you lived in Puerto Rico? We lived in an area of Dorado called Dorado Beach East. The company paid for our membership to their golf club, clubhouse and stuff. While we were living there the Ritz Carlton built a really cool hotel and resort there, also. I loved how we could take the golf cart to the beach and the family oriented spirit of the Puerto Rican people. My son spent his middle and high school years there and to him it’s “home”. He goes back quite a bit. It would be kind of cool if I found out you were around the same area.
@@Tagg2 I don't mind you asking at all. I lived in Condado from 1979 til 1991. I was a restaurant manager at the time, then moved on to be the food & beverage director at El San Juan Hotel and Casino. I met my husband in PR and my children were born there. I know Dorado very well. My husband and I would go often. There used to be a restaurant up at the top of a mountain overlooking the golf course and the ocean. I loved it there. We also stayed at the resort a few times. My family is Cuban and immigrated to Jersey back in the 50s. When my maternal grandparents moved to PR looking for a climate as they had in Cuba (1964), I'd go and spend each summer vacation with them. They lived in Puerto Nuevo. Later in the 70s, my dad moved there and opened a business in Santurce where I joined him. My dad and grandfather are buried in PR, and although I haven't been back in at least 20 years, I will always consider it a second home. My brother still returns almost every year; one day, I'll return. xoxo

And I'm sure you will enjoy living in the new community. And your job.wow Marlene. God does open doors and windows for you. I could not tell you had a face lift. I'm scared to do one because of scars. But if this makes you happy and I think it does than who cares what others think. Looking good Marlene! The divorce had been coming for a while so no surprise there, and I'm really happy in that aspect. Losing my job was devastating but doors I never imagine would open have, and it has been a blessing in disguise to say the least.
I was also concerned about the scarring due to my darker skin tone, but honestly, the scar under my chin isn't visible and the tiny one by my ear can only be seen with a magnifying glass and 10x mirror. I'm not sure if you know, but my wig reviews are on my other channel: Marlene's Wig & Chat Studio. I try to upload 2 or 3 times per week. I lost my job during the first week of October, but within a few days first Shirley reached out then within a day or two, Frannie reached out. Love both these ladies and all they do for the wig community. I don't know how they feel, but I know I feel very fortunate to work with them xoxo Marlene

I’ve been wearing wigs less than two years but ordered all of my wigs (15) from Wig Studio I because of the great reviews from you, Eileen, and Taz. I ordered my first wig from Frannie’s Hair yesterday. My husband passed away in 2009 and I’ve been alone since then, and although I miss him deeply, I am enjoying a wonderful, single life. You will too.

Hi Marlene. You've been through some very hard stressors, all in such a short time. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. Mine's been gone for 20 years and, like you, I talked with her on the phone daily. It's so hard not to be able to do that anymore. Now my sister and I talk daily. I think your facelift looks super natural and you look fantastic! I'd love to have my eyes done but need to save up for it. And wow, about losing your job. Marlene, I don't know how I missed this post but I am glad I stumble upon it. I applaud you and your journey, you have had a lot going on. So sorry about your Mom. I lost my Mom years ago during the holidays and like you and your Mom we talked everyday. She really was my best friend. With loss we ride the waves, you never know when a big one will hit! But having a loving mother gives you loving memories. I also lost a job right before the holiday season but as much as it was traumatic it freed me up to pursue something better just like you. One door closes and another opens, right? and the new companies you are reviewing for are outstanding! You look so much younger, healthier and happier and you are just starting another chapter. Seeing your facelift makes me want to go get one! If we feel younger inside why not help the outside along a bit! and your new home for 55+ sounds fantastic! I wouldn't hesitate moving into a place like that. You will meet all new friends and have a great time. Thank you for sharing this , you make us feel like we have known you for a long time! Marlene this is the 1st time I've visited your Fab & Glam page. Thanks for sharing your story. I can relate on so many different levels. As for getting used to living alone, I got divorced almost 8 yrs ago and now i don't know if I could ever get used to sharing my space again.
I will tell you though that you will never stop missing your mom... It's been almost 15 yrs and I still miss being able to pick up the phone and talk to her.
I love your attitude and how you're moving forward. My brother and his wife live in one of those communities in Lake Wales. I just visited him a while ago and thought it was great!

I'm just now seeing this and I can tell you after losing the amount of weight you lost, the amount of weight I lost(112 lbs), the face and neck need a little work. I'm excited for you! I wish I could do a lower facelift, but I decided to do Coolsculpting on my abdominal area instead. I definitely believe we need to do what is best for us. If that means doing nothing, great! If it means working on a part of our body, fantastic! Since we are basically the same height(I'm 5'5"), I can relate to everything you've been through weight wise. I reached my goal of 130 in 2021, but I've gained 15 lbs. I'm back on track and losing these 15, but more importantly, I'm eating food that makes me feel my best. I've lost 3 lbs this week so everything feels right. I am not concerned with weight, but my best health and what gets me there. You keep doing you!

@@MarleneFabGlamOver50 My Mom passed away in 2012. She struggled with schizophrenia and had a painful life. My grief is complicated but the bottom line is I love her with all of her complications. You are correct. Grief is always present with all of our losses and as you already know, it always cycles through us for us to process. We will see our loved ones again on the other side and for now we carry them in our hearts. Love you Marlene!

When I was diagnosed with colon cancer (8 years in remission), my doctor suggested I just eat high protein, low fat, and minimal sugar intake. Talk to your doctor and see what will be best for you. This is not easy, but you will get through it and beat this horrible disease.

I really like Shirley, have purchased from her numerous times and she's always done me right. I know of Frannie as well, first from her crochet videos since I do crochet and quilt. I eat almost 100% carnivore, used to weigh almost 200 lb myself back in the early 2000's, but I'm now several sizes smaller and very healthy. Thankfully, I don't have to track anything eating this way or I'd be food-obsessed because I know myself. It's nice to keep having to buy smaller clothing, I'm sure you know! My exercise is just natural exercise (homestead, chickens, disabled veteran husband) as well as minor weight lifting and leg exercises in bed every morning. You look wonderful, Marlene, but as we know, the mental and emotional stress can bring us low. Best wishes for your destination to be happy and fulfilled, sweet lady. Quite the update! And so much to share, thank you for all of it. While my mom didn't want a close relationship with me I still miss her. I guess we never get too independent from our parents. Now I'm the oldest one left in my immediate family, feels kind of strange sometimes but that's life, right. As far as facelifts go, I'm too much of a pansy to want to go through all that LOL plus I have my share of "work" gong to the dentist to override my genetic "gifts" LOL I also live on a farm and my entire life and career have been outdoors and it isn't going to change so my face, heck all of me LOL tells the story, l am an archeological artifact LOL Anyway, its fun "being" with you and listening to you share your life with us in such a genuine way. Hi Gina, thank so much for visiting! I was very upset about losing my job, but God works in mysterious way. I love the two ladies I'm working with. Yes, I will show the new home and the community center. It's not a stupid question at all. The vertical cords on the neck are muscles. They are not visible when we're young; however as we age, they can be seen on some more than others. This could be due to weight loss, such as what happened to me, or due to genetics or clenching teeth. I was despising these cords on my neck so I know just what you mean. xoxo Marlene

Have a question about the over 55 community. Do you have to pay HOA fees? If so, is there a limit as to how much they can raise those fees? Are the activities you described included in the HOA fee or are these billed separately?
I’m a retired Surgery nurse. Looks like you found an excellent surgeon. He listened to what you said and it’s evident by your results. You look great! Not overdone. Looks natural and refreshed. The swelling does not really look evident on camera. It will take time for that to diminish. As for the numbness, that also takes time to diminish.
I’ve wanted to have a lower lift but have had to care for my elderly parents with their numerous health issues. They have since passed on. But now caring for my husbands health issue. He’s recently developed a seizure disorder. Soooo… my lift will be put off again. I’m hoping to get it done next winter. My surgeon is a plastic surgeon I’ve worked with in the OR.

Hi, thank you so much for visiting and the reassurance about the numbness. It's a bit scary at times. Yes, I have to pay HOA fees. I believe the HOA can be raised but it's about every 5 years or so, at least that's how I understand it. Yes, it is billed separately and includes the insurance for all the outside (landscaping, roof, painting, pool upkeep, grounds, tennis courts, golf grounds, gym equipment, bar and restaurant maintenance, day trips, social events and in-house theater). I believe the the HOA is right around $400/month. Currently, I pay more than that and I don't have all the amenities. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your parents and your husband's illness. I understand. I had to put off my lift as well when I cared for my mom. I hope you're able to get it next year. It has just made me feel so much better. I think my surgeon really listened. He's not only a great surgeon but an amazing person. LOL, I will always slather on that sunscreen. xoxo Marlene

Sorry you lost your Mom. My Mom died from dementia . Young age 78 . Gone 11 years . My Dad died last year. Kidney failure . He was 93 . I think you look fabulous .
