After watching this video my husband and I went down there the very next day to check this place out. It took over an hour from Surrey but definitely worth the travel. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Wow! We’re delighted that you were inspired enough to make that kind of a journey! We sure hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did! I think we mentioned in the description that there is also a location (Lees Winery) in Surrey, but we haven’t been there and we’re not sure about the food situation there. Did you try the same combo platter? Amazing stuff! Thanks for the comment. Really made our day!! 🙏❤️
@ Yes, we got the same platter but it was way too much for just the 2 of us so we took the rest home. The Surrey location is a distillery only so no food. Next time you’re in the VanMak area, check out Hodoo ( right next door) for Korean Walnut Cake/Cookie treats.
Cool little place that otherwise seems inconspicuous. I have to check them out. Have you been to SURA ? Two locations .... lower Robson and Aberdeen Centre Mall. Their $25 lunch special is a huge spread with unlimited banchan. They used to have a $15 version that was about the same quantity but fewer banchan choices but that was discontinued post-Covid. But do check out the $25 version either way and remember to get the banchan refills. PS: one stipulation is they require at least 2 people in your party to order the special.
Ooooo, that sounds good! We’re going to have to try that when we return to Vancouver. Thanks for the tip! We love to get recommendations from people in the know. Vancouver has so much amazing food, and it’s impossible to know all the great spots without help! 🙏
That’s a great deal. Especially with two cups of makeoglli. Korean food can tick so many dietary restriction boxes such as gluten free, vegetarian and even vegan. It’s also low fat, packed with flavour and madly delicious. Thanks for the experience.
@@rajo741 we LOVE Korean food! This place blew our minds because we’d walked past it so many times and never ventured in. Not sure if that pork hock was low fat though! 😉
@ That area was part of my old stomping grounds. It’s good to see some Korean fare. Spent a lot of time at T n T and the really good ramen shop across the way.
Thank you for showing us this hidden gem. It’s always nice to find a good Korean restaurant in Vancouver. I think if I remember back to my ancient history as a child in Seoul, the sliced pork hocks with some spicy dip were the accompaniment to beer or some other alcoholic beverage.
@ ha ha, no! Rest assured that there is indeed the odd chair to be found along with the benches against the wall. We’re thinking it might not be the best business plan for a restaurant if diners had to bring their own chairs! 😮. We like to sit beside each other with our backs to the wall because it makes filming easier and intrudes less on fellow diners.
And I thought the only good Korean restaurants were in Coquitlam. This place may very well prove me wrong. That jokbal passed the eye test and then some.
Love the texture of tteokbokki!
So do we! Makes a great alternative to noodles or rice. And It’s all about the sauces! Thanks for commenting!🙏

I think we got three meals out of that platter! ❤️

Couldn't help noticing what's on your back seat.. do we need to bring our own chairs??
