I've never tried crocheting before but after watching several tutorials of pretty much the same octopus and failing every time, you helped me to finally do it right! I'm so happy about my little friend 🐙
Your spoken with the written and visual instructions are amazing. I am an absolute beginner. I have made 3 of these so far. 1 has 9 tentacles. Lol one is huge and o e is tiny. They aren't perfect but each one is better than the previous. ❤❤
Yeah that confused me too. I think I'm just gonna slip stitch a couple stitches and make 8 instead. I'll put my eyes on the opposite side and make the extra space the back.
This was so amazing! I had picked up a bunch of crochet supplies while I was pregnant but when I actually tried I got frustrated. 5 months later, I got the urge to crochet again today, and this was the first tutorial I picked. You taught me single stitches, double, increasing and decreasing, and a super detailed tutorial to follow! You even showed me the steps, which was so amazing as I went into it with 0 knowledge on how to crochet. I did use a different size yarn so my boi is a bit smaller, but he has 8 legs, is stuffed properly as you said to use more than I thought, and he’s closed up nicely!! Thank you so much and I can’t wait to do another one of your videos.
once you made the 2nd sc in r1, how do u know which one is the very first chain u did?? I keep getting confused and I can’t find it which makes my r1 octopus look like a strawberry instead of a circle
Stitch markers! :) what helps me is once you make the magic ring and you have 6 starting stitches put a stitch marker on the 6th loop (so the last stitch you did) not the loop on the hook. Do your next row and the last stitch should be right after the loop on your hook, take it out and put it on the next loop and so on
This is a really cute pattern and I just made 1, it ended up with 18 tentacles so I thought “oh user mistake!” I just made another one and it also ended up with 18 tentacles. I followed the pattern exactly. I don’t know what I did wrong, and how you got 10 tentacles when there were 18 stitches. Please explain! Thanks! But they are still really cute! But please explain to me. Happy crocheting!
@@onecentcrochet thanks! I did do the slip stitch, would I do 2? Like tentacle, slip stitch, slip stitch, tentacle? Thanks for responding to the first one!
@@Made_By_Qyou would slip stitch, chain ten, increase back down the chain, slip back into your current stitch, and slip stitch into the next stitch. Repeat as follows. That would put a slip stitch between each tentacle, making 9 of them instead of 18! 🐙
Can anyone PLEASE tell me when it say x6 does it mean do that same thing six more times in the same round or 6 rounds of that same pattern I’m so confused 😭😭😭😊
I started amarigumi when I was nine, I used written patterns but they didn't work out. I made a with your video and it was the first time my plushie didn't look like a dying rat. lol
hey i think youre probably using a hook too small for your yarn, and you might be making the stitches a bit too tight. try using a hook a size bigger, or even two sizes bigger if the head is very pointy. also try loosening your grip on the yarn to make the stitches a bit looser. experiment and tweak these adjustments until you get the result you like :)
I just made mine and I'm sooooo obsessed! I cant wait to make more of your patterns!
could you maybe do a ferret? theres no good tutorial for it and its my dream to make it and ur tutorials are always so good
The fact that I ended up with 12 tentecals buts it’s still so cute😂😂😂😊❤
Me too 🤣🤣
@@JuliePilgreen Me too....oh well still super cute!!
Sameee
Haha one thing to help with that is counting your stitches yo make sure you have 18 when you start the tentacles
😂
Nubbie here. Did with you turned out great. Need work on my tension. Thx so much.
Can you do a dog one please 🙏

Great tutorial! The instruction was clear and easy to follow. My octopus turns out cute and beautiful.
It was so hard with the type of yarn I had to see my stitches but after many hours of struggling I DID IT!!!! Thank you for this cutie 🐙
Hi can we do this with cotton yarn as well thin one
You can do it with any type of yarn

I'm glad you liked it! 😄
For some reason on my last tentacles have 3 stitches left. How many tentacles are there supposed to be. I thought 8
9 tentacles!
Yeah that confused me too. I think I'm just gonna slip stitch a couple stitches and make 8 instead. I'll put my eyes on the opposite side and make the extra space the back.
I just checked mine and I got ten & I have no idea how but it looks right so whatever ig 😂
Will try this one.

Maybe try a stitch marker? My daughter had trouble too

I’m a bit late lol but how do you know where the first stitch is I wanna learn but it’s very confusing!!
My tentacles are floppy and hanging down. How did you get yours to stay up like that? 🙁
You either didn’t do much chains or you didn’t increase enough

Hi! You may have missed the slip stitch into the second stitch, rather than doing a tentacles into every stitch.
@@onecentcrochet thanks! I did do the slip stitch, would I do 2? Like tentacle, slip stitch, slip stitch, tentacle? Thanks for responding to the first one!

Thanks you for the pattern.

Yes ×6 means to do the same pattern 6 more times
Not 6 rounds but 6 more times in the same row
I started amarigumi when I was nine, I used written patterns but they didn't work out. I made a with your video and it was the first time my plushie didn't look like a dying rat. lol
They only have 8 arms
Hola, que número de gancho es por favor, muchas gracias
Nice 😊
Can you make one for a dog please 🙏 I subbed btw
Mine keeps coming out with 9 legs any suggestions
Why when your project is flat mine is a dome?
thanks!!
My five tentacle no eye tissue filled octo is adorable
Why does my head keep turning out like a cone 😢

So this may be late, but something i do is skip the first round (6sc) and just do 12sc.(6inc), this usually helps.
Hi ,commented on one of your other posted and u replied!! and I just wanna say thank you so much for showing the best patterns and if u can u pin me?
What how
I got 18 tentacles🤣😂
