- Amrullah Saleh was born in the Panjshir Province of Afghanistan in 1971. After the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States, Amrullah Saleh participated in leading intelligence operations of the United Front on the ground during the War in Afghanistan, toppling the Taliban regime. He last served as head of the Afghan intelligence service. In late 2010, Saleh created one of the strongest Afghan pro-democracy and anti-Taliban movements, the Basej-e Milli or Afghanistan Green Trend.

I am from America and i don't understand that after 20 years of my country being in Afghanistan and telling us that things were slowly getting better that the end result would be America making a deal with the Taliban leaving them in power. My American government told us for 20 years that they wanted the Afghani people to live in a free democratic government and society and that the Taliban were terrorists that gave safe haven to Osama Bin Laden and Alqueada. But now America leaves Afghanistan and those same terrorists are still in power running Afghanistan. I knew very little about Amrullah Saleh but over this last month I have looked up his history and watched many of the interviews he has made. I knew a little bit about Ahmed Massoud and his legendary father from Panjhir Valley. Both Saleh and Ahmed Massoud both sound sincere and honest and to me would be great leaders of Afghanistan. Why wouldn't my country America help these two men? Only answer that I can come up with is that my country lied to me and its own people and lied to the Afghani people as well. For that I feel so sorry and very very sad. I pray peace and prosperity and freedom comes to all Afghani people. They deserve this after all that they have been through these last 40 years.

after the Taliban captured Afghanistan again in 2021. I'm watching this and getting thousands of emotions while watching. I smiled, I'm emotional, I got angry, I'm frustrated it's a mixed experience of 21 minutes.

In the start the first thing that he said about the audience reminded me of when he was giving a speech and the audience didn’t pay attention at all and so he got angry and kept telling the audience to calm down and listen for a minute but then he lost his temper and left
