Derek check out these cutter / crimper. They are the only thing I use. I use the Klien brand because the cheap ones don't strip well. Takes a bit of finesse to strip with them but the good ones are so much easier.

Derick, easiest way to test by yourself, is to leave the power on and just grip both ends of the wire like Nitro from Down Periscope!
