First the Grindstein, then the Chug, now the Mauler. I’m so jacked to live in a time when RUclipsrs are getting their own boutique pedals.
I live the idea of a good preamp with an insane distortion circuit that you can blend to taste. It's unique.

It didn't sound like what you expected on the chainsaw side because the trick is to dime all the knobs. That's how they get the chainsaw tone. So you would like the hm2 if you dialed it in responsibly lol
As someone who uses their MIJ HM-2 as a sort of "filter" for lack of a better word, with Level at about 1 o'clock, L dimed, H near-dimed (about between 4-to-5 o'clock) and Distortion at 0, I find that most of the chainsaw sound resides in the H mix knob, although the distortion certainly contributes to it. I also only discovered this due to stumbling on some obscure, poorly designed web page I found on Google lol
I personally prefer blending that chainsaw-y tone with a separate distortion though, to me it sounds a little better that way.
Still have to say the Amptweaker tight metal version 1 is still my favorite pedal

So many options now. Friedman BE-OD Deluxe. Revv G3 and G4. New Soldano SLO pedal. Ola CHUG. KSR Ceres. Northern Mauler. MXR 5150. Many different flavors, all of them really good. But they all basically do the same thing.
I know this is old but that’s the beauty of it, they’re all the “same” but very different. When it comes to us metal guitarists, we all want high gain distortion but a unique tone. I also use distortions as boosts/drives/fuzzes/ pre-amps.
Was hoping to see you use it like an actually HM2 dime everything and blend it. Sounds much better that way

Since there's no button between 'like' and 'dislike' I'll just type in 'meh.' But the tone of the first chords you struck, with all the knobs at noon, did sound pretty good. If somebody sent me one for free I'd probably use it. Not saying that's what happened here, just saying. My conspiracy theory is that most of the newer pedals are secretly being made by Gibson as another way to steal our money.
Whoa this sounds reaaaaally good. Extremely usable tones right off the bat. I think it can get more obnoxious if you dime the chainsaw side and add some giv'er.
I totally bought it. I replaced a DS-1 and HM-2 with this pedal. Man who'd ever think that Revv would have made my favourite pedal...

Cool idea, hooray for blends sure, but the HM-2 side doesn't represent enough of Boss' tone. They should drop that aspect of the sales pitch, it's flimsy. Just my 2 cents.
If anyone here wants that full out of control chainsaw sound, plug this into the input and dial the bite and growl and G’ivr” to max! And go to the 3rd channel, add just a bit of gain and chain saw away when you activate it! Just a lil tip, the Manuel also has that as well.

It sounds like a lost transistor clipping later, like dirt in the signal. Revv do that that type of setting on most. But this pedal is good sounding.

@5:40 That --in no way, shape, or form-- is the "Swedish chainsaw" sound. It sounds just like the other channel. IMHO.

This kinda made me sad. I'm a huge HM2 fan and the way the chainsaw circuit was dialed seemed so plain, it didn't really have that growl I would've expected. Looks like the HM2W is staying on the pedal board.
Check out the launch vid on our channel if you feel like it! We did a metal track with the chainsaw side set way more aggressive. Of course nothing wrong with keeping the waza on your board - that one rules!
You need to dial in each side then blend it in

What happens when it's put on the amp settings for the actual amplifier and the pedal at the same time?
How did he get you he didn't even try it out on his channel he hired a guitarist to do the review Glenn we want you to play your solar v with the pedal quit getting everyone else to review your pedal want to hear you do it

I like more your demostration than Glenn´s! He´s so Metal chainsaw kind of distortion that I really don´t like his mixes but this pedal has potential!!

I couln't hear the swedish chainsaw sound at all, it just sounded like a very good Revv on one side and a Rat or some other cheap distortion on the other side.

Chainsaw is missing 😢 I guess you can get instant chainsaw with some does it doom or fuzzlord effects pedals, or even using audiority’s plugin of the HM2. This pedal doesn’t make the trick 😢
Fluff kinda dialed it in to his taste which is a different! Check our launch video - if you keep the bite and growl high you get the chainsaw for sure :)

I was in some decent Metal bands in the 80s-90s. Guys like Glenn are why I have all but quit the genre. You are doing the same type of content only so much better and without the toxic-hate-spew he is constantly leaking.
That said, this pedal blows.

As bad as this pedal sounds, you should've let Glenn ( I hate drum samples unless the producer of a megadeth album says that drum samples were a big part of the drum tone" Fricker release the photos. The photos would sound better than this. Heck, banging pots and pans against a concrete wall sounds better than this. I wish youtube would quit recommending YOU when I am searching for Ola and Jens. This is 3 minutes of my life I can't get back.
FLUFF. What kind of setup would be needed to have a Pre-Amp pedal going Direct for recording? Such as, pedal into DI into Interface, then into "clean" Amp Sim in DAW?
Any feedback or suggestions, would be appreciated
Just preamp pedal into interface with a cab sim/IR running in the DAW.
Ola's main video on his new CHUG pedal highlights a number of ways to use distortion/preamp pedals, one of them is via pedal into interface and then just an IR, no other amp sim needed
