This says a lot about why he refused the throne when they offered it to him long before the vents of the show. He didn't want to deal with all their backstabbing bs.

2:25 Watch how everyone's demeanor shifts as Jon goes into more detail about the Wildling forces.
At first, Alliser is ready to reject Jon's figures. Janos is just happy to convict someone. He's practically frothing at the mouth to kill Jon, that's how fallen of a character he is.
But as soon as Jon begins to name every tribe under Manse's force, and that they have Giants, THAT get's Alliser's attention. Janos scoffs at the idea - until he realizes that Alliser is taking it seriously. Then he cools off as well.
It's such a satisfying scene to watch. These performances are SPOT. ON, and the writing is superb. Jon is laying himself at the mercy of his brothers. He doesn't use his intel as leverage. He gives them both his intel and his wrongdoings in one package. It's an incredible display of loyalty, humility and honesty. Because neither does Jon back down from informing his superiors of the true threat. He clearly has a stake in this still, despite all his oathbreaking.
MAN Jon Snow was a killer character. Then they fucked him up like all the others.

I always liked Alliser Thorne. He has dedicated everything to the night's watch and when you look at Jon Snow and his actions from the point of view of an old man who only wants what's best for the night's watch + doesn't have the knowledge Jon does about certain events....well you can understand why he hates him. That's how you make good villains, when their point of view actually makes sense.

Totally agree. He's a rough guy no matter what, but he is fulfilling his OATH that Jon is clearly breaking, even if it is for the greater good. I forgot if he had seen and wights by this time.

Jon and Alliser had the best rivalry in the show. Togethet wth maester Aemon they made the scenes from the nigths watch great up until Alliser was hanged. Mornont was also a great characther

He did take his oath seriously, but he did hold grudges from the rebellion (part of the reason he hated Jon so much iirc) and enjoyed seeing the new recruits and Tarly suffering and getting hurt. When he did finally betrayJon, he did it because of his oath, but he also took pleasure in it because of his hatred for Jon. It was an excuse to fulfil his sense of duty and kill his rival.

Speaking of how a father would proudly look at a son, imagine how Rheagar would have looked at him had Rhaegar survived? Makes you feel so much more for Jon's character because of who he really is, compared to what he has always wanted to be. To have brought those two together(crowning him king after proving he's indeed Rhaegar's son), would have been so much better as an ending than mister "I can't be Lord of Winterfell", suddenly scooting down to KL to become king? Remember Bran said he couldn't be Lord of Winterfell because he does not "want"? Funny how he suddenly "wanted" to be king. Gosh, the latter season writing was insultingly bad!! When a character is that contradictive.

Thron is actually a tartior. He tried to kill rheagar's son.

@@DavidBarton777 He'd have to know Jon was Rhaegar's son to be considered a traitor. Come now. Thorne truly believed Jon was Ned Startk's son, and that's what sparked so much anger(because of what one of the Rebellion leaders did to his cause). My point is, if he'd only known the truth.

      @m.williams4971 the funny thing about
It he hates his own kings son
It would be been cool for Jon to tell him
Right before he killed him to see his face. But Jon didn't know then but anyways would of been cool to see

Sounds like a phenomenal fan fiction story. Instead of hanging all the Watch traitors, keep Thorn alive to witness Lord Commander Snow as not only the Lord Commander, but to have rightfully and honourably left the watch (after giving his first life), to unite Wildings with Mormonts to not only stand against a far larger army in Ramsey, but to crush him once the best cavalry in the World (arguably in the World but definitely in traditional Westorosy War) joined his side, to become King in the North (Thorne is originally from the North I believe), to meet and ally with the only known member in the Royal family Thorne was loyal to, to not only have use of, but become the sole rider of the dragon named after Thorne's final King, to discover he was not the bastard son of a "traitor" but the the born son of they very same King and then having the realisation that before all of this, before either of them knew, he was still man enough to show mercy to a banished Knight that only ever showed him nothing but hate, distrain and Disrespect. After all of that, although it's not the GRRM style, how incredible would it have been for Alister to not only fight in the Long Night, but to, in his final moments, apologise to, acknowledge and praise Jon as his chosen King to follow before he somehow sacrifices himself in a way that allows either Jon himself or the ay of the living to strike the final blow on The Night King.
On my channel, I will be trying to release videos of certain changes or theories in regards to improving the TV show and I already have 3 small changes to improve the final season without having to take the story we got in a different direction, but now I believe what I just said will be the first idea for a new list of bigger re-writes. What do you think? If anyone would like the sound of it, please get in touch should you wish to contribute, help or assist in any way and I will always make sure the credit goes to the source.

I never understood why the wildlings attacked at Castle Black. If the wall stretches for miles, and is unguarded at 99% of the wall, why would they attack the 1% that was defended? Also we get sympathy for the wildlings at the end, but just remember a few went over the wall (including main characters) and they slaughtered villages of women and children...so maybe they weren't worth saving.

yes but didn't they only save like 2000? The red haired one that becomes a favorite character of most people, was a horrible brutal murder that helped murder ollies entire village. Just weird that we entirely forget they are murderous monsters the second John interacts with them.@@piyushudhao597
