- My "raw" amateur video of Scott Dunbar One Man Band Singing Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' has become something of a RUclips "hit" with 250,000 views and counting. (Make that 300,000 views and still counting now. . .) It was shot with a Nikon D90 DSLR and a Sigma 15-30mm wide angle zoom at its widest setting for the most part. Enjoy!

In front of the Mont-Royal Metro station in Montreal Quebec in the spring of 2009. Scott is now living in Montreal and just played a set at le Quai Des Brumes on rue St. Denis last night. I shot some more live video of Scott performing and will upload some new videos of Scott Dunbar One Man Band in the coming days. He did a great set. Very talented.

My 13 yr old daughter says "this is beyond amazing and he has got a talent. I hope he does more songs too!!" I say, this guy could make millions but I don't think he wants that. He puts those "musicians" to shame with his "raw" talent....no computers, or techno intervention!!!!

Actually I have not made so much as a single dime from this video, or any other video that I have posted to RUclips. There is no revenue to share with Scott Dunbar because, to date, I have not monetized my RUclips channel. I would prefer to have no ads impeding viewing of my videos, but the music publishers of 'Billie Jean' put in a copyright claim to RUclips some years ago and thus I have no choice in the matter in this case, and in some other videos I have posted where copyrighted music is reproduced.
RUclips now automatically detects music content in videos, even if it is just music in the background of a video one has posted. RUclips has placed ads on some of my raw videos of protests in Montreal because identifiable music was being played during the protests.
I am not sure how much ad revenue would have been generated from this video if I had monetized my account from Day One, but I would certainly have shared it with Scotty if I had made any. It may not be as much as you seem to think in any case, hardly enough to base a "career" on to be sure.
+Robin Edgar Ok, my apologies. Just trying to watch out for the artist. Although, trust me, nearly 2 million views per video would be enough for him to live on.

The truely impressive thing about this video are those passengers listening to the song. They are remembered to their younger days. You can see it in their faces.
