thank you for this! it worked on a borrowed server that apparently do not like windows systems very much. which is fine but since it is just for learning various things :)
FYI - First you need to find the Hardware ID for the Thing(s) your'e trying to get drivers for - Control Panel / Device Manager / "your device" /Properties / Details / Hardware IDs / PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1539&SUBSYS_E0001458&REV_03 From there you hunt the internet for who makes that thing and if your lucky you'll find a resource like our friend here to Point you in the right direction !
can you help which file need to be edited in NDIS63 for server 2016,also please let me know what line of codes should be copied as my ehternet card HW ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10D6&SUBSYS_145A8086&REV
Apologies I'm not to sure about individual motherboards. Maybe try it out and see if you got the parts laying around. This method was the only way I could get the on board LAN working on X79 with Windows server as the ones provided by the motherboard manufacturer are not supported by Windows server
Hey there i dont know if you will see this comment but i will ask anyway what can i do if i still get the message that there are no drivers available? i downloaded the folder 25_6 (newest version of the drivers) from intel site that you linked in the description i followed the steps in your videos (i did it for the 2016 server version tho) i picked the WINx63 directory as you said and followed all the steps in the configuration but its still not working what am i doinng wrong?
I know this is dated now but I found a far easier way to do it, find out what intel device you have, mine was a I211 Gigabit Network Connection. Choose driver from list. I chose I210 gigabit network connection, it'll warn you about compatibility, click yes, it will install and work.
Thank you - I did this a little over a Year ago, and was installing 2012R2 again - you were a great help jogging my memory.
