You called it and he’s perfect for Niners. Frankly, the best QB on their roster for Shanahan’s offense.
As an ISU fan, BOY IS IT CRYSTAL CLEAR NOW just how much he elevates the offense with his play. Even ISU fans are reluctant to give him as much credit as he deserves, because it would mean his four years were a flash in the pan, and Matt Campbell's offense can't actually do much without a player like him.

You guys are a riot. As someone from the states and a Cyclone fan, Brock has a bit of Big Ben/Brett Farve where he will do something that people can never forget (ie the TSU interception) that is indelibly negative. Every point you guys made is rock solid. Brock is gonna be a quarterback you want on your team even if he never plays a down. Because you know if the game is on the line out of ANY QB in this class, give me NFL weapons, NFL offense line, I'll take Brock any day of the week.

Purdy had his moment all right. Went from Hero to Villain because the media and scouts couldn’t see what you guys did.
Media didn’t see anything cause they don’t watch Iowa state I’m a sports addict (aren’t a lot of us) and when he was drafted as the last pick I was freaking shocked because how great he was in college dude is and has always been a baller

Purdy will probably make some rookie mistakes in the remaining time this season (such as the dropped would-be pick against Seattle), but he's proven that he's at least a viable starter with generally good "football smarts".

49ers won 5 SBs with QBs that didn’t have big arms, Purdy is on the right team for his skill set. As a 49er fan I saw Montana and young win with shirt to intermediate passes. I was at the game in sunday and watched him play against Brady live. He already is better than jimmy G to me. He fits shanahans system so well. Thoughts?
People are too obsessed with arm talent. Most HOF QBs had average arms.. Intelligence, accuracy and mobility are the best qualities. Montana and Young had average arms
I always thought he was underrated. The only issue with less powerful arm QBs is that DCs will start to flood the box and take away the short and intermediate - Purdy is brave and his mobility, accuracy and manipulation of the pocket might be enough to overcome how teams try to stop him.
Interesting to see when Lance is back - surely Purdy will revert to being the backup, at least through camp?
@@uksteelerspodcast Jeff Garcia comes to mind, he had a really weak arm but was a multiple time pro bowler. I think if Brock makes it to the nfc championship and or SB it’s his job. I think you keep both for a year regardless.

I watched this video before the draft & liked it,a lot. Great enthusiasm,fellas! I enjoyed watching him pre season and in mop-up duty against the chiefs . Fortunately, my son and I went to the game against the dolphins last year wherein he replaced Jimmy G ,after injury ,and purdy was awesome to watch . A year later ,after week 14 . We love this kid ( joy to watch is spot on fellas !!!
From seeing Purdy play over the last 3 weeks he looks like he has the makings of a franchise QB however I will revaluate after the niner's season. Having under-average arm talent isn't necessarily a bad thing. The two greatest QBs of all time (Tom Brady and Joe Montana) didn't have great arm talent either but instead killed opponents with short and intermediate precision passes and created dynasties
I am watching this now and seeing what Purdy is doing for my 49ers, I think you guys were hitting and I understand now what scouts were thinking. Ty Purdy is sooooooooo great. Better stats and pretty much any NFL QB in history ... statistically speaking at least, waiting for the SB win now :) Ty Guys

Having watched Jimmy G for five or so years, Purdy's arm looks plenty strong to me- he certainly goes deep way more often. Is there a definitive answer on this by the way?
He does throw deep, just his accuracy drops off the longer the throw, at least in college. If he can get a bit better accuracy on those deep shots, who knows maybe he h ghouls be a franchise QB
An I like his foot work he's able to get away for the sack an make the throw under pressure I like Jimmy g but he didn't make the defenders miss him an make the pass the way brock does

He's perfect for Shanahan's offense. He's not required to make deep passes. Just execute the 5 to 20 yard passes and let the receivers do the rest.

Would be nice to see a follow up on this. I'm also from the UK and watched the Superbowl every year since it's been televised here, but never took a serious interest. This year was the first time I've watched a non-Superbowl game and I watched a bunch of them because of Purdy, and I guess I'm now a 49ers fan.

As a 49ers fan, he has showed a better arm than you guys describe, Brian Griese the 49ers QB coach said that the 49ers think his arm is plenty strong. He also plays for the best play designer in pro football has his head coach, which certainly helps.
I'm so impressed with these guys somebody should hire them to scout for NFL team being as every scout and every team besides 49ers who took him last overall. How can a person not root for Brock Purdy. Tom 199 Purdy 256. I'm a seahawks fan from WA st. But I will never be upset to see this underdog 🏆 win. Mr. Fucking irrelevant what a great story. Destiny.

Losing 1 starting quarterback for a full season is rare in the NFL if you think about it and SF lost 2 and bring in the last player picked in NFL draft and his first career start is against Tom Brady "GOAT" which he wins. You guys are good at what you do. Definitely nailed his attributes down to a t pretty much. Hopefully with the 49ers the deep throws aren't absolutely necessary. Just him making the 20 yard 30-yard passes or at least attempting to seems to help out a lot. And the mobility to open up the bootlegs and play action definitely is a big plus along with his mobility and ability to read the field

Are you psychic? It is spooky how right you were.
Purdy is a prime example of why the NFL is full of crap about almost everything. Teams will give 2 1st round draft choices for a QB prospect that they believe will be elite - sometimes more choices. The 49ers did that with Trey Lance. The sand in the NFL gears is that in real life it turns out that Lance may never be an elite QB for the 49ers, but Purdy may be. It is also pure NFL BS that running backs are easily replaceable and are not worth paying salaries closer in value to what other positions are paid. A good lawyer should sue the NFL for anticompetitive rules in negotiating with RBs.
This dude will win multiple championships, with or without the 49ers, cannot believe the niners tripped and fell on a future hall of famer in the last pick of the draft
