All the features being implemented in Ather can also be developed in Ola. The key question is how Ather will perform when it scales to the same level as Ola. While focusing on a single product can be beneficial, many companies, including Ather, are investing heavily in hardware and battery manufacturing, whereas Ola is working to handle these aspects in-house.
Based on current statistics, we cannot definitively conclude whether Ather is a good investment or if Ola is an excellent company. However, I prefer to go with Ola due to the founder's vision and the rapid pace of implementation.

India is a price-sensitive market, and Ola is capitalizing on this by opening over 1,000 service centers across the country. Starting January 26, 2025, Ola will produce its own cells, which will account for 70-75% of the cost of an electric vehicle (EV). This move will give Ola a competitive edge by significantly reducing costs compared to its competitors.

Most of the buyers and legacy automakers are on a fence to switch to EV.
With their extensive network, they wouldn't take time to introduce products deep into tier 2 tier 3 cities.
For me, swappable batteries are the future for the 2 wheelers and honda is correct with their approach.
They may be ahead of its time though.
Not everyone has charger access at home but can charge if the batteries are portable.
Charging pods at fuel station won't take much space and you can just goto a petrol pump, get your battery swapped if needed.
Otherwise, charge at home for cheaper.

Its a tedious task to make a identity in Indian market albeit its an easy process for east asian brands as indians prefer foreign over indigenous options and thats an acceptable way I would suggest if you doesn’t want any fuss. Ive been using ola from last two yrs & the experience is really great, however, my brother wouldn’t say the same. And yes we have seen a lot of anti ola campaigns in the past one yr in sm . Ather has its own version of product issues too which are ignored swiftly. Lets see for how many yrs ola will survive ? I would be astonished if they make it to decade.

Let’s go by your logic within just 3.5 years in market Ola they started producing their own battery with 23% work force in r&d.
Then what about 10 or 15 years in the market where will Ola be

Ather is well engineered for Indian conditions than Ola. Ather was testing and perfecting their tech for a longtime befor Ola. Ola bought a foreign company that did their R&D outside india and then did a few tweaks to release it here. Ola might get better, but Ather will always be a step ahead.
I currently don't own any EVs because I don't believe in their value proposition. The only reason EVs looks remotely economical is only because of Tax relief which won't be the case in the near future, the battery tech is decades behind.
Give me a repairable battery with a decent range, then it's game. Non repairable techs just locks you into this limited lifecycle.

Ather has done organic growth , thoroughly testing the product over the years , understanding the range requirement of the daily commuter while keep the product fun enough to ride.
Ola on the other hand has just over- promised and underdelivered, burning investor's money to the ground .
    Overall a great insightful Video❤

Partially true, Ather's sale is still concentrated to particular parts of India for a particular customer type.
I live in Bangalore and Shimla and yes we have OLA selling here in Shimla as well.
India has an amazing diversity of people and conditions and Ola was bound to fail as they tried to scale too much too soon.
That doesn't mean if Ather does the same, they would execute it better.
Also, people only care about VFM quotient.
If legacy automakers like Bajaj, hero etc start taking EVs seriously, neither Ola or Aether stand a chance.
A lot of buyers as well as legacy companies are on the fence to switch to ev and rightly so due to the missing infrastructure.
Only way Ather can come ahead is by sticking to their premium appeal and charge a premium.
They can't compete with Ola or legacy automakers (when they will get serious) for the budget conscious customers

See... I will say on ground... Ola has better presence and in long term Ola will win... It's just that because it's a startup there are some issue which I mainly think is because Ola is not able to manage the expectations of such a huge demand of people buying their vehicle... But they always improve on the feedback of people none the less.. You can see that with their every vehicle they have implemented audiences feedback and created better products... I still have an optimistic view for Ola... And not at all think the Internet stuff heavily... I mean yes there are some problems with Ola and not with everyone but very few people... But it gets exaggerated on the internet too much... I as an Ola Owner myself thinks that now I won't be able to revert back to Petrol scooters now... It's so much comfortable and does not require a penny... And for service problem... The lack of service staff for electric vehicles is universal but as the demand will increase so will the people with expertise in these vehicles too... And Ola has promised to double their service centres by December... Even if they do it March or April it would be great and a testament that they are doing there best to improve from customer feedback and are trying easy adoption of electric 2 wheelers in India... And people on the ground understands it that's why there scooters sale are so big... Also because Ola is catering to every price range with impressive scooters so... Ola will continue to rule the ev 2 wheeler market at this rate... And Ather don't face such issues because their market penetration and product sales are still a fraction of Ola... So less sales.. less problems discovered and less Ho Halla on Internet.. simple logic...❤❤

    My bet is on OLA
Ather has largely restricted itself to narrowed perfection. Ather will be a premium brand and may reach a max of 15% market share. Ola on the other hand is looking at the bigger picture and expanding. Ola has a chance of cracking the next gen battery technology and taking a leap in the next 10 years.
