Trying Trichrome Photography for the First Time
Film photography began with black and white film, but color photography has been around for almost as long as black and white thanks to the three color method. Watch as I take a roll of Ilford HP5 and trichrome it to produce color images.

I got the exact filters in the description. I took a test photo and the green filter looks a little foggy and weak compared to the red and blue even after peeling off the plastic on it. It's making my photos look very off and I'm unable to correct them.

The look of the water due to the Harris effect looks unreal! I wonder what it would look like if you move the background but keep the subject in the same place across the three photos

Guess You already figured it out, GIMP have a dedicated tool for combining BW photos into color ;)

Did you do anything special for the development process or did you just develop them like regular black and white film?

I developed the film totally normally! The only abnormal part of the process is editing the scanned images.

I mean I discovered trichrome photography and I tried experimenting with it. I have developed another way to to process it in gimp in a much easier way

What gels did you get? If yours are clear I want to make sure I get clear ones too

Sorry for the late reply! I got an 8 pack of various colour gels off of Amazon from SAKOLLA. The clarity of the red and green gels leaves something to be desired, but the blue one is clear enough to double up (you can see in the video that I have two taped together with electrical tape). If you just want to test out this process to see if you like it, I would recommend getting these gels. I've left an Amazon link in the video's description. If you want a better, high quality solution, investing in actual colour lens filters will get you excellent clarity and better colours in the final image.

You dont need software to pull this off. It can be done 100% analog 😊 much harder though.

How? Using rgb lamp in Photographic enlarger and colour paper? I think it’s very hard to synchronise all of 3 colours together
