I think we should partner with France regarding AMCA engine because there are various factors which India needs to keep in mind.
    1) France is more reliable partner than USA
    2) This deal with further strengthen India-France relations, as France is already one of the most friendly & reliable partner of India on world stage.
    3) This will give diversification to India's defence sector.
    4) We never know when & how USA will change their mind.

In my perception India should opt for cooperation with France. For singular reason that I don't find USA more reliable as partner compared to France. Also I believe US miserably lacks in empathy while France has shown empathy on many occasions. Countries like Israel, France, Russia, UAE, Japan are more reliable as they show empathy & understands our grounds & circumstances. While US expects more of a transactional relationship with us which is not possible to have with a sovereign country like India.

Design phase of AMCA has been finalized and first flight is planned to be around in 2025. It is planned that GE 414 will be used in AMCA Mk1 and then later in AMCA Mk2 indigeneously developed jet engine will be used. In my opinion france,s safran will be best partner as they are ready to do complete transfer of technology so that in future our engineers and scientists could develop our own fighter engine.

110kn engine is a mouthwatering deal for any aerospace company, India will use that same engine in AMCA (MK1 + MK2), TEDBF (and it's Airforce Variant, ORCA) and Tejas MK2, there'd be almost 1000 engines requirements in the lifespan of these all types of aircrafts. It's stupidity to not compete for this deal.

Under previous governments saddled with a colonial legacy, India has been quite a docile follower despite its immense capabilities. Under PM Narendra Modi India seems to have broken out of its shell. Be it with regard to the strongest than ever foreign policy (Obviously huge credit goes to Honourable S. Jaishankar) or Defence, where India doesn’t hesitate to answer the enemy in its own language.

Sir, With all due respect, according to me, if purely from a supplier diversity standpoint, it would put the majority of our engine MRO requirement on a single supplier, GE. 404, 414, and this extra thrust model. To diversify risks we should go with safran for the 110+ KN thrust engine, given it has an application in Rafales going ahead as well. This would diversify our risks on two suppliers for our frontline fighters.
If we use higher thrust engines in our aircrafts, then we make them futureproof, but we are only using engines, which is good enough for today's technology. hope we upgrade:-
    1. Rafale : M88 block 3 (93 KN).
    2. SU 30 MKI : AL 41 F1 (147 KN) also used in SU 57 prototype.
    3. Tejas Mark 1 & 1A :- F414 (98 KN).
    4. Tejas Mark 2 : F414 (110 KN).
    5. TEDBF : Indo-French engine (110 KN).
    6. AMCA : Any 125 KN engine.
Upcoming technology include lasers pod, AI, swarm drones, higher advanced mission computer, more powerful sensors and data processing etc. which need higher thrust from engines.

I strongly believe that both US and France have cutting edge tech in terms of electronics and mechanicals but when it comes to US there are many different aspects to be considered before moving forward as there is always if's and but's. Other very important aspect to consider is inconsistent foreign policy, there is always a possibility of US calling off a deal at the last moment, just like JCPOA. On the other hand France has always been consistent and clear in maintaining relations with India historically and Rafael deal has proven this which definately gives upper hand to France, also it helps us to diversify our dependence. So France would be the better choice in my opinion.

I would like to highlight 2 things
    1) The engine which US is offering is almost ready so we don't get to learn as much as we would if we go with France ( as we'll be doing joint production and that too from scratch)
    2) After Russia the only country we can trust is France.
So we should go with France

Both the deals are impressive. India must negotiate for-
    (i) complete technology transfer (that would be real Atmanirbharta)
(ii) if possible, certain manufacturing base in India
Decision favouring 'national interest' must be taken...

Fact no. 1 america is the first country who recognised india as a independent nation. America offered permanent seat in UN america want to be a good friend of ours but it's all jawaharlal nehru fault who always ignore america and leaned toward communists. If he doesn't do that america is in the position of russia for india . That is the fault of indian foreign ministry in jawaharlal nehru leadership. America will never support Pakistan if he don't ignore them for 30 years .

I think we should do partnership with France as France is emerging as second Russia for india. France is emerging as strategic partner for india especially under macron Government. We already have stronger strategic partnership with America than France. So, we should focus on fostering partnership with France.France is that one country which is out of influence of China, as Russia's unstabilise economy depend on china and America consider pakistan as strategic partner, which is not in case of France.France is that country who always took side of india in case of kashmir even when Russia abstain from such core issues of India.
And if we look at this matter from point of business, then it will be normal for American company even for Biden government if we give this contract to French companies as we know in business or contract, one who trust the other partner and give a good deal ,get contract. India can easily keep it point if deal with french companies finalize that we were in negotiations with French companies and they trust this mutual partnership and give a good deal ,so we finalize with them. I don't think it will be an aggressive move or a move that will hurt america

As far as I am concerned India should accept whichever deal is more profitable. When there is high competition, companies have to accept less and less favourable conditions in order to win the contract. We should fully exploit that.

Trust me AMCA is such a huge project and being a part of this huge project is such a big achievement for me.I really hope AMCA will prove to be a flagship project for India seeing India's success in LCA Tejas 🇮🇳🇮🇳

We get thousands of new engineers every year from IITs alone and we still need foreign support for developing a jet engine. What are the things our system is lacking when compared to US, France, Russia, etc.? Aren't our engineers talented enough?

The problem is brain drain, these people move out of india for better opportunities, we should give them what they want as much money they want, our politicians have 100-200 crores easily but an average iitian earns 15-20 lakhs per annum in India which is not what they deserve, it's not only about money it's aslo about finding better opurtunities which they lack in India, one of my relative is an iitian from iit guwahati and now he is in United States working in oracle even he said me the same thing, if our govt provides them oppurtinities India can achieve everything

Just a engineer won't do.We are talking about research and development which means pretty much doing from scratch as we haven't done something similar earlier so we have to jointly develop with other nations. We can also do it alone but would take more time and money which is not worth it.

India should should absolutely diversify its option..and bring more players on the table..we already have U.S for Tejas...India should be over depending on certain countries.
