No problem with it. He is free to have an opinion and free to air it. For what it’s worth, I thought the odds pre match were about right given recent form. Top level darts has become too much of a love in between players, all love and hugs(Humphries being the worst) I miss the needle, the rivalries, the personalities… these days they are just friendly money making robots
Your opinion is just as valid, but for me, let footballers, mma and certain other activities have the acting skills and childish behaviour. It ruins the appeal and image of the 'sport'. You can have rivalry without behaving like a spoilt brat. Humphries is an excellent player and a great ambassador for darts. It has come a long way since the days of Jocky Wilson and the Crafty Cockney, pints of beer and cigarette smoke. The dinosaurs have evolved and its appeal has expanded massively as a result. Now its the personalities and the skill of the players that draws the crowds.
@@hfed2657 I get your side too but these days we get the friendly banter, joking around between opponents before the game starts….then the hugs and kisses on stage after a game? No need for it, you can like and respect your opponent without all the touchy feely stuff. I feel the guys up the top of rankings/premier league players earn so much and travel around together/play each other so often that until the later stages of a ranking event that it’s just having a wee friendly throw of the darts with each other the rest of the time where losing doesn’t hurt or bother many of them like it maybe should. I love Humphries on the dart board… totally cringe most of the time off it.
Seriously though. Why do the players need to show the “pundits” and reporters any respect at all? All they do, generally speaking, is sh!t talk players not called Luke yet theyre supposed to respond to questions about other players. Laughable really. Good strong Yorkshire response. Seemed tame! 😂

It is a misconception that the fans hate him. He is not liked by the media and the media is trying to push the fans to hate him. He gave the media what they deserve!
I'm surprised by some of the comments here. Joe acted like a big baby in that interview room, all just because he wasn't made favourite to win. Acting like a baby and storming off about it is definitely a way to win respect (not)
I see all the time on X or Reddit people saying Darts needs more needle and characters and once they get what they wanted they all start putting the boot into people like Joe. Isn't he allowed to be angry now and then?
@medinabello19 do you really think players don't see the odds? I can understand that a player shouldn't care about odds, but I don't think it's realistic to think that players don't think about odds.
Subscribed pal. Joe obviously had the right to be annoyed at the media people and probably did the right thing by walking out of the post match interview imagine if he stayed for the interview and got more annoyed there would be a lot of negative replies followed with some swearing that wouldn't go down very well with joes management or pdc ( part of me was hopeing that would happen though i ain't gonna lie to you just for the crack of seeing it ) imagine media then i can picture the headline now JOE CULLEN POST MATCH BREAKDOWN ANGRY JOE CONFRONTATION WITH MEDIA REPRESENTATIVE DURING INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Still a massive fan of Joe Cullen. In life you don't demand respect you earn it and Joe deserves respect for what he has achieved in the sport. Stick to your guns Joe as you will always have your hard core fans sticking with you. Go and win the Worlds my friend and shove those words down the so called experts throats. Wishing yourself and family a Happy Christmas and my 2025 be your year.
I still love him - probably even more now - media these days are all about scandal and sound bytes well they got some, I am just concerned that Joes mental health and resilience might be getting somewhat tested by these morons.
My opinion is that Joe Cullen has been a professional for a good number of years, Mark Webster, for me, spoilt the start of the programme by calling him an underdog because nijman has had a decent run,(but folds under pressure) There's no way he's an underdog, and certainly not the definition of it.
I generally respect Joe's darting ability, but it's fair to say he did not respond to this well. On this year's form you really can't blame people for thinking Wessel would win, I don't think it's disrespectful, in fact most pundits and betting agencies base their predictions on form, not reputation. By Joe's logic Man City should still be favourites for the league because they won 4 in a row, even though they're currently playing terribly. As for getting into a d**k measuring contest with another player because they made an off colour joke... pretty juvenile. Hopefully Joe's improved form will stick and he'll settle down, because this sulky behaviour is beneath him.
Dart fans don't hate Joe Cullen you get that so wrong. Its to do with play and how a dart player acts. Joe was angry about media and pundits righting him off NOT the fans.
What are you shytin on about, Joe was 100% right today. Talking about nijman like littler 2.0, when he's never made a major QF. Joe is a Masters Champion.
Do they actually hate him now? I personally neither like nor dislike him, even if he did get angry at a press conference. He’s just another Darts player to me.

It's a slippery slope when players start battles with the fans and media. Obviously, Joe gets wound up by it all. I'd like to see him change his throw slightly as he starts his backswing too low and off his eyeline near his ear, not his eye.
FYI obviously not everyone hates him and I am still a fan of Joe, but these incidents don't look good....
Agree with @GrayKrayola sort your click bait title out - then I might consider taking you seriously and subbing, currently you're as bad as the media
watching the match today... everyone was backing joe.... this is just stupid social media crap

He should have been HAPPY for his fans that got better odds
