- This is the play ball song played at Fenway Park before every game. It is called "Play Ball" and is performed by J. Bristol. The song is amazingly hard to find, but i have found it and made a little slide show to go along with it. Enjoy! Go Red Sox!

I listen to this far too frequently. Season can't start soon enough.
I haven’t heard this song in years; not since I moved away from Boston in 2008. Thank you for posting it and I hope it stays up. I remember Opening Day 2005, rushing out of my tedious job in Longwood and running down Brookline Ave to watch the game and the ceremony, just to be there on the clear blue sky day. At some point, I heard this song on that day, probably on NECN, and it just stuck with me. It’s as cheesy as could be, but almost 15 years later, I still think of it from time to time and it brings back that spring in my step, the sun in my eyes and that thrill to have lived in that moment. I’m returning to Boston this summer after living internationally for a decade, most likely for a final visit, and I bought Dodgers tickets for July 12th. I look forward to recapturing that Fenway experience for one last time and sharing it with someone new.
The more I listen to this, the more I think that Varitek's number 33 needs to be up in the retired number facade! He did more than any other catcher in the Sox organization.

They play the chorus before every game immediately after the ceremonial “play ball” right at the end of the pregame ceremonies
this isn't just a Red Sox song. this song represents the game. great take on the great American pass time.
Was the songwriter affiliated with Berklee? Wondering if that’s why the Red Sox play the chorus before every game.

Thank you so much for this. This was on a CD I bought in Dyersville, IA in 1999 at Field of Dreams (long before MLB made it commercial). Sadly that disc got stolen from me when my truck was broken into a few years later. I've been looking for the songs on it for a couple decades now. I would do anything to find that disc somewhere again. There were treasures on that disc, but many of the tunes live on only in my memory now.
Let me know if you have any luck, or if you remember any of the other songs on the CD. We have been on the search for it for years.
