    It is nice to see a smile on a man's face when he starts a new DIY project. Seeing that same smile when the project is done is unbelievable.

    Don't over tighten those canisters! Just enough is best, cuz when you go to open them in 6 months, they've become VERY tight for whatever reasons.

    Add a screw on that plywood board you attached the cartridge to and hang the wrench there.

    Love that you and the editing team left in the leaks that happened while repressurizing the system, and the problem solving process that you went through. This is why you've been my go-to during my own renovations. Always appreciate the content, Jeff. Keep on making us all better and more knowledgeable.

    I know one *technically* doesn't need a bypass on the cartridge filter, and I didn't have one at first, but I recently added one, and find it useful...

    I'd be too nervous to mess something up to work on the plumbing. But I seriously appreciate a video like this that allows me to understand what's going on.
    I especially like that you left those leaks in and the very realistic moment of frustration, instead of pretending like everything just magically works.

      Just keeping it real. You can do it and not need to hire a plumber. Cheers!

    Way too expensive and am super surprised you are not telling followers how to build one. Extremely simple project. If you are on well then 20 micron to 5 micron to 1 micron. 10” x4.5” filters + filter housings and all hardware can be be purchased off amaz0n for $200 or a little more.

    Way too many minerals in my water. I'm thinking about this idea. Very informative

    • @GOATHartt90
      @GOATHartt90 3 часа назад

      You need minerals. These systems need to be carefully curated. You need to test your source water, whether it's from the local wtp, or if it's from your own personal well. Always know what is in your water. Just buying a RO system can lead to health issues. If you go RO, make sure to remineralize to healthy levels.
      Or don't, and probably suffer. it's a personal choice.

    • @GOATHartt90
      @GOATHartt90 3 часа назад

      This system appears to be an ultra filtration system, so it won't remove any minerals. Probably goes down to .04 micron filtration.

    Looks like carbon filter system. So it will not remove minerals just chlorine, color and odor from water
    Good install !

    Why sediment filter after the carbon filter. I would think you would want it after to avoid filling that carbon filter with sediment

      Really all you need is an under sink filter in the kitchen. It's like $50 and does the same thing. The filter canister lasts 6 months to 1 year. No need to filter the shower toilet water.

    Why so much effort to flush? Hook it up, flush through the bath faucet.
