Hey Erik, big FAN here! You are awesome in every way. My dream was to see Skid Row as I remembered them from 1990 and 1995/96 and I thought I would give a lot to let my teenage son experience this as I did. YOU ERIK made all that come true! I saw you two times with Skid Row in Switzerland (Nov. 2022 and june 2023) the latter with my son in the first row. You all killed! It was awesome... Now to my concerns: I would love to see you many times more in the future. But when I see you doing all that stuff besides Skid Row (all the Covers you record in your Home-Studio, all the Backyard-Concerts, Wedding-apearances....) I wonder if you will burn out physically. Especially given your story with the new immune system. Wouldn't it be an option to only focus on Skid Row and to use the rest of the time for relaxing, recovering, recharging?
Please don't be mad - of course I love all you do... but if I had to choose between having all what you give us now or you taking it a little bit easier besides the Skid Row activities but exchange for many years... I would choose the latter.

Thank you for your concern. I appreciate it. However, I don't consider any of this work. If you love what you do it's not stressful, it gives you energy, it gives you health. There's actually a lot of research on this where they've interviewed people from countries/ places where the life expectancy is the highest in the world. One thing they've got in common: they never retire. They keep doing what they love even if it's not a job per definition. If anything touring between continents, dealing with jet lag, getting sick on the road, not being able to follow hospital protocol is a bigger problem than me doing a cover from my house. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for your support!

Erik, I respect the hell outta you! You don't make up lame excuses, and you put all you energy into this band, your life, and (most importantly), your health. Could you have waited longer to build up your immune system? Sure, but life rarely affords any of us a constant stream of life altering "dream come true" moments, so of course you had to go for it (joining skid Row - heading out on tour)! Roll the dice, right? Thank you Mark! You are absolutely right. If I had said no when I was asked to join the band I would probably have wondered what it would be like the rest of my life. Now, no matter what happens, I can always say that I did it. And if it all ends tomorrow it's been a great experience and I've had fun all the way. What more can you ask for in life?

Being in a bonjovi tribute band, i can totally relate. Ive had to learn to give it 70 percent until right at the end of the gig, if im going to have that longevity. Thankyou for all this advice, its priceless, and also, your absolutely amazing, never forget that dude .

As long as you stay in Skid Row for many, many years to come, we‘ll all be happy to tolerate longer gaps between touring cycles. Your health comes first. Everything else (including a fantastic band like Skid Row) comes after. And who are we as listeners to get mad about rescheduled dates when a human being - especially after the life changing situation you have been in - gets sick?? Keep getting your strength back, see you at the next show in Germany.

It's a battle even on a local band level as you know. This past Saturday I had a gig and my vocals started out ok, outdoor show here in Northern Minnesota, then it was all my saliva got sucked and in came the Sahara Desert!! We have fog rolling for effect and my vocals are very sensitive to machine fog. The wind was blowing it right at my face, just enveloping me. But I got through it. Hope you feel better soon man!
