- This is a easy step by step chicken and dumplings recipe. This recipe is delicious packed full of flavor. Yes, a simple dinner idea that is a one pot dish. Your family will love this chicken and dumplings recipe.
Ingredients:
One whole chicken cooked and shredded
Three stalks of celery cut into cubes
One large yellow onion diced
One bag of frozen sweet peas and carrots
2 to 3 quarts of chicken broth
3 cups of water
2 cans 10 oz cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
2 cans of pre made biscuits
2 tablespoon of black pepper
1 tablespoon of salt
2 tablespoon of garlic powder
2 tablespoon of onion powder
2 tablespoons of slap yo mama seasoning
3 to 4 chicken bouillon cubes
I made this but I cut the ingredients in half cuz I just cooked it for my fiancé and I & it was very good! It’s now a staple in our household THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS DELICIOUS & SIMPLE RECIPE!!!

I like that you used a rotisserie chicken and shredded it up.I LOVE shortcuts. I'm 58 and our moms and grandmoms were doing the most. I love and thank them for the lessons but I am all for saving some time and energy. Chicken pastry was one of my Dad's favorite dishes. He passed in 2004 and today 3/13/22 will be my first time making it since he passed. Wish me luck!

My mother used to make me chicken & dumplings every year for my birthday dinner. So it has special memories for me. She was born and raised in South Carolina it wasn't until I went away to college that I was introduced to other ways of making many of the dishes I grew up with. She made her dumplings from home made biscuit dough and roasted the chicken whole then cut it. She had a big oval shaped roasting pan with a lid I think it was metal with a porcelain coating. She used most of the same vegetables and seasonings but he method was definitely more time consuming but worth the wait. 👍🏾 Good thing my Birthday was only once a year. 😂
