Neighbors say Northern Virginia data centers emit a noise they just can't tune out. We took to the streets-and dove in to the science-to figure out why.
I work in a data center and believe me it is some significant topic. The brain registers all those noises even though you do not pay attention to them. Common side effects fatigue, sleep quality decrease, anxiety etc. There has to be something significant even low continuous noises impact on brain. Imagine now those residents working in a noisy workplaces and then come home to deal with another continuous noises. I remember those days that I worked in night shift in a noisy factory and then I used to sleep in an apartment which was located on a busy main road. Wow that was extremely hard to deal with it. I am all for these residents.
Make sure they're designed with attenuation sound modifications. Check out the nightmare Chandler AZ residents experienced there. People moved from the community due to Cyrus One. They offer no long-term employment revenue and only property tax benefits for the city. However homeowners lost their property value due to noise pollution.
