    I love the combination of the paint and the sketchy lines of the pen together. I wish I had better sketching skills. Part of the reason I love painting is because it looks better than my sketches and because it helps me see where the lines should be if I do want to sketch in some lines. I really love how this one turned out! ❤

    Diane,I can't say enough about this delicate vintage painting! The colors are so pretty and I love that you reminded us of the importance of adding shadows. Once you shadowed in that little area on the left it made the entire painting pop. The end of the video where we get a glimpse of your stunning vase of flowers plus added bonus of your sweet cat wandering about is adorable. By the way, I painted and framed the birds on vintage music sheet paper a while back and every time I look at it, it makes me happy and reminds me of just how far I've come in my sketching and painting skills. Sounds kind of funny to compliment myself (haha) but really the compliment goes to you. Without your excellent teaching, I wouldn't have come this far.
    Last night I made 8 Easter chick cards, (also from your recent tutorial) left them to dry overnight and today I get to embellish them! They are super cute and people will love getting them in the mail. Thank you again for making me look so good!

    Pussy Willow has always been one of my favorite trees. We had 2 huge trees when I was a kid. Later in life, I found dried cut Curly Pussy Willows at a flea market. I still have them in a vase.
    About the sketchbooks, how would compare mixed media to watercolor?

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  Год назад

      I think the mixed media paper has more sizing on it, so it will stand up to more friction - for me, the main thing is that it shines through the paint brightly and brings the colors out more vibrantly than some papers. Not always the effect you want, but great for whimsical animals, small florals etc. I like it.

    Do paintings done with this kind of paint require being framed behind glass and mat? Can they be protected with some sealer to protect using the frame without glass? I am very new to this paint but do enjoy it. Thank you for your help; I love learning how you paint. Marilyn

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  Год назад

      I think it’s nicer to use glass because it enhances the painting as well as protecting it. And personally I haven’t tried sealing watercolors, although some people do. Matter of taste I think!

    You should only drink organic coffee. I had a lot of negative affects from coffee, so I quit drinking it for years. A lot of coffee beans are sprayed with pesticides and such. That’s what causes reactions. I haven’t had any side affects at all since I started drinking organic.

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  Год назад +1

      We usually try to use organic Shari, but it was a package of instant coffee (which I haven’t drunk for years!) that I was given (long story) and I thought I’d give it a try because it’s quick! I will be throwing it out now and making sure we stick to organic of the best available quality. Thanks for reminding me how important this is!

    • @annettefournier9655
      @annettefournier9655 Год назад +1

      Organic does nessesarily not mean pesticide free. Check the organic guidelines of your country. I was shocked in the US what is allowed as organic. Plus organic pesticides can be just as toxic. After all, arsenic is organic.😮

    I bought a set of the kuratake paints, I've decided I don't care for them. I noticed that even after totally dry, if you paint near another color, it runs into the next. The colors are nice, but the running makes a real mess. For instance, you paint a black pupil, you let it dry, and then you come in and paint the color part yellow, it immediately runs into the yellow even after drying.
