"Room 335"...as played by the two masters of the 335 Larry and Lee!!!
Real guitar playing...melodic fusion at it's best !
I like the banter about who's the better guitarist...these guys are both phenominal and the discussion about who tops who in this performance is not warranted...it's not a pissing contest....two great musicians in their own right sharing the stage, it's about accompaniment not comparing.
Praying for Japan!!!.. and with this tune i'am Jammin' for Japan!!!!!
Cheers Everybody!!!!!! Konichiwa Everybody!!!!
Glad to see people still like this music.
I have never heard a better Larry Carlton solo than
this one. Goosebumps....
Ritenour is the man...followed him since 76...I was 16...he shares his music and love...to all!
Man, this is SWEET...These two Guitar Masters make such Beautiful Music on those strings...make my Happy to keep tryin' this Guitar....NICE!! Buy that Bass Player a Beer!! Dammit Man!!
love Larry Carlton so much~i've been replaying this song for lot of times. The other one i can't stop listening is "smiles & smiles to go." like his playing w/ FourPlay too~i feel touched every time when seeing their live:D their passion for music has never been diminishing w/ age~
ずっと聴いて要られる❗神、二人揃い踏み❗⤴
NOthing better than these two together.. ah.. heaven!!
Two masterful guitarists on one stage in a Country that needs to be recognized for their determination and shear will to rebuild. You never see the Japanese on TV with their hands out like so many other Countries after natural disasters. I am humbled by these people and their strength and character. Glad to see them enjoying life again after those terrible disasters. God be with you all.
Ritenour has a finesse and a touch that borders on magical!
What masters of tone and taste.
I've known about youtube for over a year and I finally thought about searching for Larry Carlton! There was a time when I would not accept that there were perhaps better players than Larry Carlton - he was my hero when I needed one.
Even though I have a wider perspective now, Larry is still great and its a real treat to see him and Lee jammin' on Room 335.
いいいなぁ。大学時代に隣の部屋の先輩がこのアルバム持ってて、朝によくかかってました。今聞いてもファンキーでかっこ良いフレーズだ!
Larry Carlton is just too good !!! God Bless Larty Carlton !!!
Larry Carltons solo one this recording is one of my all time favorites. Just awsome!!
Nice to sse that some of You musicians which we admire also take Your time to watch RUclips, and also even reply.
Regarding your solo - and as a reply to thos who didn't like it. I had the same feeling the first couple of times, but the solo is actually very good. Remember that this is a live concert, and I think the solo evolved out of the mood exactly in the moment. This is live music!
It is very good to know that what is reference quality music world has been and always will be what I really enjoyed as a boy
Agreed. Yeah I never, ever get tired of hearing this. This guy is so damned good..
what...wait a minute you can't have two of the greatest jazz guitar players ever playing together...that's not being fair...!
Larry & Lee rules.....!
pure unadulterated genius. Love the way Larry takes it back to a blues feel after the Rittnour solo.
eric
wooow,
no words...great musicians...
Mu
every times I watch this video i have some feelings I can't explain
The bass player is jammin and lets all watch it again!!!!
Rock on
This is a GREAT version .... Larry's 1st album( Larry Carlton ) is a TRUE Classic !!!!!!!
Spectacular...Larry and Lee!!!!!!!
Yeah absolutely brilliant. Both Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour played in Steely Dan,particularly Larry who featured big time on the album Royal Scam, among others.Lee Ritenour appears on the Dan album Aja. Both Larry and Lee have a distinctive sound, you know it anywhere. If anyone wants an intro to Larry ,I would suggest the live album from '87 Last Nite. For Lee Ritenour I'd say the albums'Wes Bound or Stolen Moments.
Pure brilliance
I love these guys. What a great band behind them, too.
One of my favorite from Larry!! Best of the best!!!
One of the best pieces of music i've ever heard.
That's just jodidamente incredible, All were perfect, Larry Carlton's a monster, They've attained nirvana with that song.
It is so much fun watching people who love to make music!! It is truly magic! Thanks for the post!
What a bass solo by Melvin Davis. Unreal.
Completely amazing musicians! this is what producing music is about
My 2 favorite guitar players! Thanks
Larry C's lead lick on Spiral is one of my favorite pieces of playing - been listening to it for 30 years.
Love the dual 335 attack!! I'm going to buy one now..........!
2 magicians of music...
Excellent!!
Larry rocks ...
Happy Birthday Mr. Carlton! Keep your guitar singing!
Fantastic - these guys are playing the music they love and playing so well, I love the huge grins they all have at about 1:10. Makes it so much better.
In my my view the best guitarist in the WORLD....larry at work..........
good to see musicians all on stage really loving what they do.... are you looking universal!
He's my favourite fusion guitarist!FANTASTIC!!nothing to say
Do pick it up! It was released on GRP in 1995...simply called "Larry & Lee"...simply wonderful! Can't say enough about these two great guitarists!
Yeah, we have heard a lot about Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour. But I must say, Melvin Davis (on the bass) is so damn amazing!!
Larry Carlton is the James Taylor of guitarists....he's so gentle, so skilled, so tasteful!
One of my favorites by far, with David Gilmour, Pat Metheny, Steve Rothery, Steve Lukather.
rock on. The music is timeless.
I love both of them very much! They seems to afford to enjoy playing. I would play the guitar as them!
they play so smooth...awesome
Holy crap! Larry Carlton's improvisation is one of the tastiest i've heard since Kid Charlemagne!
i had heard that Larry and RIT had did a CD together, but i've never heard it. but, after checking this video out... i may have to run out and pick it up.
Carlton did play on the Steely Dan "Aja" sessions, so i am not surprised of the "PEG" reference in this song.
thanks for posting!
Superb stuff from the masters...had the pleasure of seeing LC in concert, a masterclass of guitar...and LR is amazing too...
great solos for life......
I personally watch larry carlton videos just so I can see 5+ people blissfully smiling into an audience backed by cheesy elevatoresque music. granted it's well written elevatoresque music with the best guitarists ever
I first heard this tune in 1993 and still can't get enough of it (esp. since I found the guitar tab and managed to learn to play some of it!). Larry is a class act. Too bad jazz fusion isn't mainstream...
Mr. 335 and Captain Fingers! A stone groove!
This shows that Larry Carlton is the master of the west coast studio guitar sound
Two masters of the guitar together
I remember, I met this video two years ago and was shocked. How great these two guys! Actually this video have made me practice guitar..
Love it...sounds like a cross between Peg and the theme to Hills Street Blues (for you younger folks, that was a TV show some years ago). Larry played gtr on the shows intro/theme.
I FEEL LIKE I DIED AND WENT TO "335" HEAVEN!!!!!!! LOVE IT
Larry´s second solo is just guitar heaven!
larry carlton is incredible
Very beautiful!
MLD- absolutely love "Overtime." That version of Night Rhythms is fantastic, so uplifting. For sure a comtemporary jazz classic!
Thanks!
larry and steve were both two of my idols and together with eddy van halen and steve lukather one of the most inspiring guitar artists after jimi hendrix
That's an absolutely amazing solo.
One Word Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I heard the similarity right away. I don't know how it could be missed!
Much better than the other vid posted on youtube which misses out the superb runs by larry at the begining. thanks very much for posting this! :)
never heard this til' now..pretty cool!!
I LOVE YOU!
Lee Ritenour es uno de mis músicos de jazz favoritos. Tengo todos sus discos. Gracias por subirlo. Un abrazo, ;-)
Masters of smooth-&-pretty . . . .
Nakakamis mga old music thank you bro
Wow, with this one we're back in the smoothest 80' fusion...I love it! It reminders me of a Larry Carlton track called song in fifth grade...if I'm right.

Salve Larry!!!
These two guys make life good .. like eating jello ..watching buterflies .. count stars and sunny skies uauuauauau i don't smoke it's about feel the good
I have this on my ipod but had never seen the video. Two great guitarists. Great to see Larry C stretch out a little. In love w/ his playing since the Dan 'Kid Charlemagne' days but 'frustrated' by his studio stuff where it seems like he is too safe and commercial. Liked his playing w/ FourPlay a lot, also.
Nice music!
Happy Birthday Larry Carlton; born on this date in 1948. {Mar. 2nd}...
He is Legend!
