@@IndiaTides Not exactly. It is true that Ayub Khan proposed a joint defense pact against China in 1959. It is also true that Nehru rejected it but the reason was Ayub Khan's insistence on a solution to Kashmir. Nehru made many blunders but more often than not, these were because circumstances forced Nehru into the corner. The biggest blunder that India ever made was the Simla agreement where for the first time we had a clear upper hand against Pak but Indira Gandhi did a Prithviraj Chauhan.

@@sankalp6872 I read up that the answer was why should we make the pact against such a good friend. The answer is quoted in one of the article based on the book. The other claim of Indira did Prithviraj was completely wrong. We made clear at that time that we are against genocide of Bangladeshi and we are attacking strictly base on our moral ground. The idea that we use that opportunity to benefit us would have undermined our moral standing and we would have lost our international support drastically. They lost the half of their country and demanding more would have been untenable besides would have kept that wound fester much more. Don't do revision of decision based on assumptions. I read somewhere that Pakistan’s national security policy wrt India:
1- Blames India for impeding connectivity in the subcontinent
2- It wants to challenge India declaring itself as a net security provider
3- Accuses India & genocide in Kashmir.continue to support (= terrorism)
4- Wants to improve relations with India with “Just and peaceful” resolution of Kashmir at its core
5- Calls “Hindutva” it’s security threat (abusing Modi and India with fake narrative)
6- Concerned about India’s military modernisation, getting nuke exception.
7-It wants to “reimagine” its relations with Russia which it sees as growing rapidly. Largely, the doc focus is on its economy.
There is nothing beyond what Pak has not said over the years.

Being an Islamic Republic is a huge part of the reason they will struggle to do well. One reason I have a problem with Hindu Extremists is because they want to turn India into something similar to Pakistan . On many Muslim social media places the most extremists always tend to be Pakistanis . They love to equate any suffering Muslims elsewhere go through by bringing up Kashmir . It's just bizarre . Gen Bajwee said the same thing as stated in this National Security Policy 4 years ago in Germany Munich Security Conference "That Pakistan has replaced terrorist jihadi nurturing polices with Geo economics". Shekhar, can you do one episode on what exactly is Pakistan's claim to Kashmir. It certainly was not part of the division. Bothe nations' armies were headed by Brits at that point in time. 'Tribal invaders' came in with Pak army men disguised included. In Gilgit Baltistan the Brit General there took it on himself to 'deliver'. In our wisdom we waited for the Raja of Kashmir to formally 'accede' before 'requesting' the Indian Army to step in and the Prime Minister Nehru took it to UN - legitimizing the 'issue'.
After China took parts of Ladakh in 1962, Pakistan gifted away large parts of Aksai Chin to China we cannot get it back. China still contests the rest of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh and we are not able to assert our sovereignty over these areas authoritatively.
One of my friends suggested Kashmir be given to Pakistan or allow self-determination [another Pandora's box] and Ladakh to Chin in return for peace. We will be reduced to a peninsula with hostile neighbors and a necklace strangulating us around our seas and Ocean. Naxals, SDPI, Dravida Nadu and the 'stateless' citizenry' are internal problems waiting to reduce us.

On this video , forced to write a comment ( Which I usually don’t) , your initial sentences to undermine and ridicule Pakistan in a manner mentioning Not here , others do it , is very disappointing. Please do see it from a non Hindutva or Global Indian prism. For a successful India , a successful region is a must. Please do talk about giving Tempe rights to Kashmiris as per the Indian promises and please focus on regional progress need. Again , respect and Love 💐
