- My new Web site is: www.lelandskla.... The new book is there and lots of goodies in the works...
Here are the directions to my new club house if you want to come and hang. flatfiv.co/pag...
The next live stream is next Wednesday the 30th. Sorry for any confusion. This week got screwy! See you then.......
Lee, have subscribed since the start. At age 77 & widowed, just came to the conclusion that if I had a "do over", I would want Leland Sklar for my next door neighbor. What a wonderful world that would be for a former bassist that "borrowed" from the Master for many years!!
Please stay safe.
Thank you & keep posting.
Looking forward to it!
I read that as "the next live steam". I wondered if you were going to re-enact the apartment incident.
Barry Parris Ooooh! Good thought!!!!
Man Leland you are the best head chamge on You Tube.
Ain't it good to know? Thank you for these posts. You are helping 1 peraon get thru this tragic time.
Thanks for another great story, Leland.
Those pups are hilarious!
Leland, I absolutely love this video. What a privilege and an honour to be invited into your 'home', a very rare treat indeed. Your videos have kept me sane through these scary times, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your life, stories, playing, and home with us all. Stay happy, safe and sane. Best Wishes, Ian.
Rock that hammock like you own it, Lee.
Great story! Thanks for telling us.
Great story. Adventures with friends are the best. I gotta say your sound is an integral ingtedient in JTs "sound". You flew together. You rise all performers. Across the years. Your incredible style adds to everyone. Its where you choose to put your notes...in the perfect pocket.
First. Love the channel. Next my post. After your recent RUclips video block out I was going to suggest doing the videos in two parts. Part 1 being the story if you are going to tell one. And Part 2 is the song you intend to play. That way if the song is blocked by the big bad evil video blocker, only the song is lost. The story is still told and heard. I agree with you and Rick Beato that if the videos are demonetized by you... as they are. The block is potentially hurting the blocker or the artist as their music isn't getting the exposure it needs or can use. I wouldn't be aware of several artists and their works if it wasn't for channels like this one.
👍
What is the story, about the boys names, Lee ?
And now: Steam by Peter Gabriel
"Cool it, boys ... I'm on the phone" :-) :-) Line of the day! Thanks, Lee.
***That*** is what we’re here for, plus the songs, and the dogs, and the garden tours, and the neighborhood walks, and the garage gear explorations, and checking out the hotrod, and the recording sessions, and . . . thanks for everything.
Stay safe and stay well!
Wow! Hammocks, James Taylor, peeling wallpaper, steam, Carly Simon and barking dogs.
We are truly blessed. You wont find this combination anywhere else folks!!
Keep us smiling Leland.
A London based Sklarite and his fiancee, Karen.
Came for a music story and got a DIY tip on how to remove wallpaper ... nice.
A true Think tank.
Just gotta be careful that mold doesn't set in.
Brett Marlar steam it off?! 😂
Certainly a better way than burning down the house.
Could bee a nice series: lee's hammock stories! 🤣 I would love it! Thx. for sharing! Stay safe!
Those hounds are grinning from ear to ear!
What great stories the hammock stories ✌️👍🎸🎶 dogs are so great
I used to play the James Taylor hit "A little More Time With You" for my daughter Fiona when she was a baby...we'd dance around the living room together!
Lee mentioned that Berklee is holding an online Bass and Drum Summit at 1 p.m. ET. Announced participates include Steve Gadd, Anthony Jackson, Omar Hakim, Darryl Jones, Kenny Aronof, and Lee. It's being hosted by Victor Wooten, John Patitucci, and Steve Bailey. Quite a lineup! I look forward to it.
Lol!! At the same time you got to the word "hot" in "it was HOT"...one of the fur babies howled . Sounded like crosstalk to me, pup. Way to emphasize, little buddy. 😉Too funny! Love the shared memory...Love the fur babies and their howls!!!! Too stinking cute. Thanks for having them run to "us". It was a great video ty.
Your hammock looks inviting! Scoot over and tell us more stories! Lol. Those yodels that Marciano is making, is music to my ears!
Love the stories!
Reminds me of a story, I was in Nashville for a demo session. I was staying at the Producers home. The last night we were there the artist and friends were having drinks...you know the pat yourself on the back party..Well a few were smoking cigarettes the host dumped the ash try in a can under the sink. We all went out to see some live music came back a few hours later. The whole house was flooded about 2 inch deep in water. A cigarette caught fire under the sink and burned through the water line...oh the stories my RUclips friend...
The see you barking at your rectangle, so they want to join in. Oh, it's feeding time, no wonder they're antsy.
This is actually quite amazing when listening with some proper cans - sound really gets picked up well almost in surround fashion on your phone! You really get a sense of being in a hammock getting hounded by dogs. :P
This time last year, I'll bet you never imagined you'd eventually be lying on your hammock talking into your phone for a RUclips story presentation to 136,000 viewers...
NOPE!!!!!
There's lots of stuff we didn't imagine we would be doing in 2020. Sure glad I get to hang out with you guys thru these crazy days of virus and smoke.
surreal...
Please continue the story time hammock series with pooches
You just reduced my blood pressure by 20 pts! Thanks.
Story time on the hammock with Leland. I like it. Thank you for taking the time sharing such a great story. Cheers.
Thanks for the crazy story. Your mind must be a treasure chest of stories. It is so nice to hear about your long career and people your met along the way.
Your vids bring so much joy, thank you and have a great day!
Deep conversations...LOL.
One thing about Lee's channel..I'm always going to know what day it is..Thanks for the story today..
Love the stories...when will you publish some of these stories? Though your memories are great!
Nice change of pace. Your stories are always my favorite part. 😁
Love the pups ... have you always had Basset Hounds?
Nice little BTS of your yard. You're right, nice change of venue.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 🌴 📸
Lots of crazy stuff is how our friendships are maintained. That memory will stay for a lifetime.
On time after the whiskey and J. Winter a wheel fell off my MG at Bel Air and sunset blvd. It landed in a evergreen bush 3 inches from the fire Departments 20ft high plate glass windows. I have 100 of those stories with my oldest friends. Priceless story. Indoor rain forest! Priceless.
first!
Thanks for sharing that recollection. May you have many more.
Good afternoon Lee - I meant to tell you and all the immediate family yesterday that I hoped ya'll had a nice 1st day of fall....so I wish you all a happy 2nd day of fall too. Thank you for sharing your life with us.....the boys and their antics are so damn cute! It's great to see ya'll enjoying the backyard again too. Have a great day and peace and love to all!
Carley Simon's live performance here on RUclips of - " Haven't Got Time For The Pain " held at Grand Central Station is in my opinion worth the time watching.
Same goes for "I've Got To Have You" from that same gig. Amazing.
Loved when the dogs chimed in @ 5:25 to emphasize "HOT"!!
Carly tells this story too, in her memoir, "Boys in the Trees."
Quite the story! I’ve subscribed to James’ RUclips channel as well. So, it fun for me to relive some things through your memories, Lee.
I love your two knuckleheads, too.
Can you tell any stories about Joni Mitchell? I know she was with James at some point....I love her work so much.
So I couldn't help but notice the cow statue in the garden. What is the story behind that?? Love seeing the boys at play.
Got the cow and a calf years ago. They have moved around the yard. Fiberglass.
Love the stories and the crazy dogs!!! Thanks for bringing us happiness during these difficult times
Love these stories. Thx so much for the effort. Love your dogs. Love mine too. Cheers.
Absolutely love those Bassett hounds! You are very blessed man. Have a great photo video shoot tomorrow. Please be safe and well.
I just love your two boys. They obviously love their dad too. Great story also.
Great story & as a fellow parent of bassholes I relate to your situation lol
Ah how rock stars live eh ? Lovely pad, lovely dogs and sunshine - sounds good to me :)
I have heard that a lot of musicians wrevk hotel rooms and apartments. Mostly it is while partying.
I am so glad I found you sir I love your stories you are doing wonderful work keep it up
Dear Leland, you make me sleep when you're in your hammock ! You're so Cooooool 😉🙏🏻
Love the Pups! Great stories Leland, keep them coming. You are really helping some of us through this.
Our current USA government still allow citizens to tell their remembrances and stories without facing a host of legal copyright trespass reports. Thank you for the visit and story; it was good to see and hear the three of you.
Love your stories almost as much as I love your pups. I was wondering if you have any that you can tell about my favorite artist of all time, Joni Mitchell? Thanks for your efforts keeping us all entertained not only with this channel but with a lifetime of iconic music. Peace✌️
Brilliant! Great story and loved the setting!
AhhhOoo hounddogs of Lelands.
His beard is perfect.😉
Whatever we do...never delete these type of memory files.👍😎
Priceless.

Awesome story with some much appreciated humor, both from the story and the storyteller. Thank you, Lee!
So glad you’re taking some time for some R&R!! Love your stories....
Great story. Also, those dogs are hilarious. 😂😂😂
careful with the dogs and the hammock. the knuckleheads. great story. steamed an apartment to death, damn. clubhouse today?
dmlevitt i have same question. He hasn’t mentioned it and I haven’t gotten an email reminder....But. I thought i was every other Wednesday?
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 It is going to be next Wednesday, the 30th at 3pm PST. There was stuff going on this week that really screwed up my schedule. Sorry for any confusion.
At 5:23 when Leland was about to say "HOT" and the dogs chime in was what I call "Perfect Timing." LOL
Come outside for some peace and quiet... lol
Love how the dogs emphasize how hot the water was.
Thanks for the visit Lee! I enjoyed that!
Bassett said Hottttttt water 😎
So is this what inspired Steamroller?
Thanks Lee! I love all of your stories.
Brightening up the day! Thank you! 😀
Jajaj i love your dogs Lee😊😊
Great story punctuated with a fine song titled "Hounds!!" Very sweet. Enjoy the day!
Great story and I love your dogs :)
The cute little face rushing the camera at the end ....Hahaha Mans best friend.
Wouldn’t it be fun for all of us to sit around a fire and swap stories? Yeah, I know yours would definitely win, but what a great time that would be.
And, oh... nice gams. 🤗✌🏼🤍🤟🏼
I'm very curious what exactly was recorded...I can't place which album you are referring to, and you said it may not have been released. Great story. Thank you.
Priceless because of the story, the setting and your costars. Sorry about your lawn, I could hear and see what the summer heat did to it. I'll guess that the grass is bred to recover.
I'll bet that was a really nice apartment. Carly made her own success but she came from a wealthy family.
Simon & Shuster Publishing
@@lelandsklar6363 Yep, and still publishing. Not only do I still buy albums and CDs, I still buy real books. I tried a friend's Kindle but I prefer holding a book. I can see the sense of using a Kindle if I were a world traveler like you but not at home.
Tom Gorsuch Same here. That is why I love albums.
Now I know how to remove wallpaper!
😄
Always a good day when we get to see Rossano and Marcello. Remind me so much of my two knuckleheads.
The boys have ears for days!
Isn’t this afternoon the Clubhouse?
Next Wednesday
5:23 it was howwwwwwtttt water lol.
Enjoyed that. Thanks :)
Ahhh the life of Riley 😌💜
The boys chimed in at the perfect spot! 😅🤣😅🤣
I imagine James was in the dog house after that oversight 🤔🙄
Your stories are as great as the song videos!
Thanks! For them!
Life is bitchin...even the disasters
I have never owned a pet, so I can't really relate, but the love you have for your dogs is beautiful.
You gotta get one! Visit your local animal shelter.
Great stuff from Alabama!
Question, and sorry, because of the time difference I am always late to the party... in yesterday’s video Lee started to play a different song by accident, at about 1:40, does anybody know this song? The intro sounds great, reminds me of Springsteen‘s „Secret garden“... does anybody know?
I love all animals and those two boys of yours are two of the best. I love it when they make an appearance, they're always in the moment. So much to learn from our animal companions. Great JT story, thanks Leland.
Brilliant I love it
What a great story. So basically James and Carly were doomed even before they started.
Women never forget a thing and hold it over you for the rest of your life! I would loved to be
there when you guys opened that door. That had to be incredible. Needless to say you probably
didn't sleep there that nite.
Absolutely NOT!
The looks of a warlock, the heart of angel, that's Lee!
Those are the most adorable dawgs that I ever saw. Made me laugh when I was in a downer.
I love my choc. Lab and she will live forever so I will not have a dawg like yours. But I would .
I would be laughing all the time. I enjoyed you too, Lee. Great story as usual.
With JT at that time.. Anything could happen
love these stories Lee, and love your gentleness. I am just discovering these vids
