    Finally the term "Bob's your uncle" applies! Congratulations! I was expecting one or two more courses. You surprised me, great work! 👏Seeing all these different games of Bob makes me think there could be a series of Bob Games; Bob's Wacky OctoHedge Adventures", "OctoBob and the Hedgehog Hijinks", "Bob the Hedge-octopus: Tentacles of Trouble", "Bob's OctoDash: Hedgehog Havoc", "Hedgehogs & Tentacles: The Bob Odyssey". Tell me those don't sound Awesome? 😂😉

      With all those titles you've suggested I'll have my work cut out for the next 20 years. I'm keeping the "Learning Atari Basic" series going, keep an eye out for "Playing with playfields" in the next week or so, work on the game meant that the videos suffered a little. Nice change from the usual though ;)

      @@8bitsinthebasement But they are great tutorials! I really enjoy them! Plus you could go further and make a more advanced version of Bob for PS2 or Amiga, etc.

      Thanks Dave, I'm glad that I stopped myself and made what I thought would be just one level in my sprawling Bob RPG game into an Atari type game (that and the fact that I had only 4K to work with). I've gotten great feedback from everyone who's played it so far ;)

    Excellent!!!! un grand bravo à vous, il est vraiment bien et super fluide, c'est super que de nouveaux jeux en basic sortent et c'est vraiment intéressant, ce que vous avez faits et le mode deux joueur doit être super fun.

      Merci beaucoup, je n'aurais jamais pensé que j'arriverais à creer un jeu, mais ce bAtari basic est vraiment quelque chose. Facile à apprendre, tres puissant et rapide. J'espere sortir le jeu d'ici une semaine ou deux ci je ne trouve pas de gros bugs.

    • @8bitsinthebasement
      @8bitsinthebasement  Год назад +1

      It's working on everything it's been thrown at so far. Atari 2600, 7800, clone system, Flashback, Evercade and of course Stella. The version in the video is what I thought would be the release one. However I had a lot of feedback and I've made some minor changes all for the better. I've added in some pre game over animations (with sound) and I reworked how the player starts a game too. It's amazing how one or two minor tweaks can really make a huge difference. I'll post a link to download it when it's ready and you can tell me what you think ;)

    When I looked at the scenarios created in Batari, I noticed that there are horizontal lines, for example, the phrase "Game Over" displayed on your screen is not continuous but full of horizontal lines. Is there a way to eliminate this problem, or reduce these lines as much as possible? How? Thank you.

    • @8bitsinthebasement
      @8bitsinthebasement  3 месяца назад

      You can eliminate these lines all together if you wish, but in doing so you have to give up one missile. Just put "set kernel_options no_blank_lines" without the quotes at the beginning of your code. If you watch episode 7 of learning bAtari basic I explain how to do this in more detail and about 3 minutes into the video I show the difference it makes. Here's the link ruclips.net/video/ByO3TV5lhXc/видео.html Thanks for watching and good luck with your programming ;)

      @@8bitsinthebasementThank you very much, my friend. I'm trying to learn this "engine" (if we can call it that), to create my own ATARI games. By the way, can the size of the scenery blocks be changed? Once again, I thank you for your kindness.

    • @8bitsinthebasement
      @8bitsinthebasement  3 месяца назад

      @@charlamps They can but to be honest I don't remember exactly how to do it. I tried it once for a game idea I had and it worked well. The best bAtari resource on the web is here www.randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-batari-basic-commands.html you should be able to find all you need to use it there.
