It's what the commentary is about, which is hardly related to the main reason someone would click the video, the """canceled"""(scrapped) emotion. Yet it seems that, like I, you assumed the main reason is for 'Dazz'. But it's important to remember people usually have higher standards than "I actually really love rambling, I could actually listen to this guy talk about RBY OU's history for 5 hours straight and would complain if I got interrupted", somehow. Though I guess it's important to remember that RUclips can be casual. One thing I will probably agree with you on is that Spacewar here did not really give constructive criticism, it's closer to an opinion. What gets me is that none of these emotions like shame, envy, embarrassment, boredom and anxiety are new to people when they hit puberty. Toddlers feel these emotions. Sometimes frequently.
Yeah but a lot of it hits the hardest during puberty. Especially shame, envy and anxiety.
They needed a gimmick and went with the easiest set of emotions that relates to puberty. At the end of the day, they are making a movie and every movie needs its theme/gimmick.
The original emotions already do shame, envy, embarrassment and boredom. I think because of puberty these emotions became so overwhelming for Riley her brain had to make separate entities for them. I think they will all join back together at the end of the movie since literally no other person in this universe has more than 4 or 5 emotions in the control room

Shame is an important teenage emotion but its kind of the same as embarrassment. the two would be kind of redundant maybe. Wonder if Pride could be a new emission ? that would be its opposite. imagine a story where Riley keeps shifting between large, baggy all covering cloths that hide her body and skimpy short cloths that show it off. How she tries both extremes and gets negative results from both. Then she finds a balance.
You could put her threw all kinds of phases. Punk, Goth, gang banger, hipster, hippie, as she tries to fund her self.
I love the idea of trying out different ways of living and trying to balance them all. She could try out Zen or cosplay or disaster prepping , run a full gambit of life styles.
Shame is more about feeling guilty about something you did yourself, while embarrassment is worrying about what others think of you. Shame usually lasts longer than embarrassment and is more complex.
I would say shame is the core emotion of embarrassment and and embarrassment is a lesser form of shame.
The part of the title i saw in my notifications gave me a mini heart attack, i thought inside out 2 was cancelled for a second💀

Fun thing is, my mom called Riley a psychopath because she didn't experience shame for her actions in the first movie. And because no one in her family's got Shame in their headquarters, she jokingly calls Inside Out "a movie about a family of psychopaths"

I'd appreciate it if people stopped making assumptions based on deleted/revised material, and started focusing more on what a film IS instead of what it ISN'T. As someone on Twitter said, changes are a part of the creative process, not just in animation or filmmaking, it’s part of making art. Your initial idea won’t always stay as is in the final product. It’s going to evolve with time as things get added, changed, or removed entirely. It’s how all films are made.
I never liked inside out (i know, behead me). Let's wait and see with the sequel.

First off, I am fully aware of the...excessive talking issue.
Second, Shame could kind of fit in with Embarrassment, so that could've been why they decided to cut them out of the movie along with it being plain negative.
If there is another hidden emotion I hope it's a darker emotion that enters towards the end of the movie. The typical positive ending followed by a silhouetted or cropped out emotion. Maybe something like Dread laying the path of a potential third movie.
Growing up is tough. Dread could appear as an upcoming driving test deadline approaches. The concerns of damaging a vehicle, other property, or even other people. It can be quite overwhelming.
Maybe the thought of getting a first job, or moving out and/or going to college. Maybe even loosing someone close to oneself and trying to move on.
How dread is dealt with and overcome can be dreadful in and of it's self. That's a movie I'd pay for. Too bad it's probably too sensitive to be made in the context of Inside Out.
I would add love. It feels so obvious I fail to see how we didn’t get it yet. And I’m not just talking about romantic love- love could be about anything! Loving parents, friends, music, books, literally anything. It would balance out the more negative emotions snd remind the audience- and Riley- of all the good things in life
I think the concept is already too flawed. Love would just be joy. What difference is there between love and joy? As a character I don’t see a way you could make them 2 characters. Just like making envy vs anger. Same emotion, it’s just envy is anger with insecurities.

Self-love especially. I like the idea of "passion" more, though I know its similar. I think it'd be better for her this time to focus on the things she can do for herself more than her relationships with others. She's at the age where she'd be developing new interests and hobbies and growing stronger attachments to them. I think it'd be a good vehicle towards discovering herself, and a perfect counter to anxiety. My anxiety started developing around that time and so did my passion for art and animation. Those have been my go-to coping methods ever since. Whatever you call it, this is an emotion the movie definitely needs.
@@scottoleson1997 It's not necessarily the same. It's more like, one emotion leads to another. Feeling love leads to joy, or being joyful opens you up to love. Just like feeling sadness, fear, or disgust can all lead to anger. They're not really the same thing but they typically go hand in hand.

Sadness already expressed tons of anxiety in the first movie about not wanting to mess things up, like how would they turn that into a different character? And then on top, sadness would have to revert to only being sad, completely 1-dimensional.

Hey, remember when Pixar used to take creative risks in their storytelling? Remember when they weren't afraid to share deep topics and themes to kids, parents and others alike in their movies?

Like the first Inside Out. Even though they cut a character that could have added a deeper element to the sometimes dark reality of growing up, leaving anxiety in gives me hope that it still could. Idk why the movies are tip-toeing dark topics when the last two tv series Disney came out with dove head first into them.
I saw this video in the GTLive suggested video's list on the right when MatPat was reacting to something. And now I'm hooked on Dazz again.
I still wish they put Love in as an emotion. The movie would a whole lot more emotional than the first and we can get to see Riley start the experience of romantic relationships.
My guess is the emotion might've been depression... More specifically the type that can lead you to hurting yourself. Unfortunately it affects a lot of teens and that it could've led to something dark and maybe too depressing for a Pixar film. Ah, shame is definitely a huge emotion for teens but I feel like it's too similar to embarrassment which is why it might've been cut.
I mean... Inside out with horniness and shame is basically Turning Red.

The first Inside Out was well balanced in showing the positive and negative sides of each emotion. My bet is that they didn't want to display Shame in even a slightly positive light. They weren't willing to show the benefits of Shame since in our modern culture, we seem to reject anything that might suggest that we're not perfect beings. Shame is one of those convicting emotions that remind us that we're not exactly all that we could be and modern Disney would never suggest that self-improvement is a good thing.
Agreed I was actually kind of disappointed that they added embarrassment before shame since for me embarrassment is a lesser form of shame.
And I think outside of emotions such as sadness and anxiety, shame could absolutely be a focus emotion who cares for Riley even if they come off as overly strict or harsh like a strict parent who deep down still cares for their child. Trying to keep Riley out of trouble or reasonably punish Riley for unmoral or irrational actions that may damage her relationship with others and not just her parents.

Fair, but what I loved most about the first movie was that it focused on sadness and how important it is to let yourself feel that sometimes, tackled toxic positivity and the complexity of emotions. It did a good job of balancing the dark with the goofy, but it made me bawl multiple times cos it got so real. It'd be kinda weird for the sequel to lean too far into positivity imo. I like the idea that they're still going to focus on a negative emotion but also how to cope with them and reach a positive conclusion. Also I feel like there just are more negative emotions than positive.. like the only one off the top of my head is excitement.

I don't think I've ever seen a video with almost a 70/30(? Not sure on the maths, looks like 67/33 with the bar from my extension) split on likes/dislikes(2.2k likes, 1.2k dislikes), and a comment dissing the video with over half the dislikes as likes, "It's a shame when RUclipsrs..." with 758 likes right now. At least a video about a true fact. I'm guessing the use of "CANCELLED" instead of "Scrapped" and that long-ish part about going into other characters heads for their emotions did a lot of bad for the video, and you know, the whole 5 minutes thing.

4:30 given the character bloat, if I where to have made the high level decisions for this film I would already say that anxiety and onui would be the two I get. Embarrassment seems like it is just for funny gags, and disgust already kind of has the envy role. I just think her being green and all has that implication despite disgust and envy not having much to do with each other.
5:02 that's just a less comedic embarrassment. I mean, when you are embarrassed you are ashamed of something you did that you think was awkward, or embarrassing.

I expected the inside out sequels to delve into other body systems of the humans like Osmosis Jones like a germ or virus infecting Riley's immune system
Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4 will be just like Cars 3 and Despicable Me 3 and like how Toy Story 4 and The Secret Life of Pets 2 are similar, Sing 2, Enchanto, Strange World, Zootopia Plus, Zootopia 2 and Enchanto and Cars on the Road are also all similar and paired with one another same for Kung Fu Panda 4 and Garfield: The Movie. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Wish, and Migration are also all paired as are Zootopia, The Secret Life of Pets and Moana and Sing.

"Shame" was cancelled? Or just renamed to embarrassment? Honestly with Anxiety showing up I would have sworn the "cancelled" one would have been Depression.
It would have served the film better if the core emotions actually simply grew with having to face their own personal changes, adapting to those newfound emotions and having them become amalgamated. Imagine Joy acting out of character and the others seemingly doing the same and them blaming each other or some outside force like in Alien, you could simply just add anxiety as the alien/worm tongue character just causing Loki like trouble till the core cast learn to deal with it and the growth of additional types of feelings. Also she should have gotten over shame a long long time ago. This seems like more too many characters telling the same story which Hollywood is doing mostly these days.
