    PRO TIP: To help offset the cost of boat ownership, rent your boat once a month for $700 per day
    I own my boat and other people pay for it

    For me serviceability is another pro of a Used boat. We have a 2002 Supra Launch SSV. I am able to do 99% of the service and maintenance myself, find cheaper parts online and save large hourly rates at the dealer (ours is a center drive so I have full accessibility to the motor, trans and all driveline). We have additional ballast, a full sound system with dual amps and tower speakers, and I'm looking into adding cruise(currently using a GPS speedometer phone app) and a wake system. Yes I love looking at the new boats but when I'm out on the water I feel I have just as much fun on my boat(all without a huge loan).

      Good points. The oil filter, oil, fuel pump, vdrive fluid, tams fluid are all cheap on my 24 mxz and I do all those things too. But they are getting more and more computerized like most things.

      I feel like in a few year it will be next to impossible to do any work yourself on wake boats(beside fluid and impeller changes) with all of the electronics. The electronics look great when they are new but with the length of time we keep our boats (going on 15 years with our current setup) I worry about the long term reliability until the electronics are proven in the extreme conditions a boat lives in.

      Possibly, but so far it's not too bad for the normal maintenance. It's definitely getting more and more technical for repairs.

    I sold my truck back to the bank to buy my new boat cash for a better APR 3%. I now have a 2004 wakesetter fully upgraded paid off with personal upgrades. 2k of ballast. Cruse control, suction cup wake wedge. Great integrated sound System. ( I paid off my truck again) . I bought the boat for 25k. I can’t see the value of a 100k plus boat. I can throw tantrums and still have a nice wake surfing wave with a curl. New boats aren’t worth the money for me. Money can’t buy time. And that’s what you need if you want to progress. Instead of a 100k on a boat you take out twice get one for 30k and take those days off to have fun. That’s 70k in awesome trips!

      I hear ya. I don't think either way is wrong so long as you understand how loans work and a person knows not to over extend themselves.

      WAKE MANN what you say is only true if you plan on selling the boat within couple years and take good care of it. Boats are horrible assets. Worse than cars or trucks. Have fun when your young, but a 100k on a boat is a horrible idea. Anyone could travel the world on multiple vacations and have a great time. Go buy a house and have a boat on the side. Nobody builds wealth by going into huge debt. Unless it’s in something that gains value. Not a boat.

    Cool clip. My only advice would be tone down the intro music a little. You almost need something that will be accepted universally. I would also keep it short, people are quick to leave with any kind of delays. Not dogging your channel, just constructive criticism. You can delete this comment once you've seen it. Cheers, Billy.

    Are the axis boats owned by Malibu or a subsidiary of some type? It's really confusing they look so similar and motor wise but the price is so much less

    • @wake_mann
      @wake_mann  4 года назад +3

      Yes, Axis Wake Research is a brand by Malibu Boats. They are just a dialed back version of Malibu. Designed for those who want the performance but don't care so much about the luxury features like the touch screens. It would be similar to compare a Chevy Tahoe to a Cadillac Escalade.

    I think something to keep in mind when looking at new or used is an older sacked out 23 lsvs will do a great job but keep in mind how much room will be lost surfing an older boat and the cost to purchase the sacks or lead bags plus as you mentioned earlier the time involvement in change overs from surf to wake boarding

    what bout mastercraft boats

    • @wake_mann
      @wake_mann  4 года назад +1

      I think Mastercraft is a great brand but harder to justify because they are more expensive. They seem to have better reviews on quality of build but not as good of reviews on wave performance. One of the best at holding its value though.

      Any of the top 3 brands: Mastercraft, Malibu, or Nautique you would be safe for life of value. Not in any specific order.

      @@wake_mann can you do a video more on the financing aspect. if you finance a boat and you have to sell it. are you stuck with the financing or does that go over to the new owner

    • @wake_mann
      @wake_mann  4 года назад +1

      Sure I will put it on my to do list. To answer your question. You have to payoff the loan to clear the lien on the title or the new owner won't be able to title it.
