History even shows the citizens rising to and over throwing their leaders because of the damage they did to their city, province/state, country. There has to be checks and balances for anyone whobtales public money, especially those with the safety of the general public in their hands. But we need to know how they will be assessed, and what the process is to dismiss a judge for poor judgement. And if that is the case everyone including the premier must be susceptible to a recall.

My brother got into a mess, should have gotten 8-10 years, lawyer asked for 10,000.00 to get him off.
He paid…lawyer and judge split the 10grand and my brother got off.

Everybody doing a job has to be held accountable, and judges should not be exempt. A badly performing judge can cause innocent people to be killed.
Accountability has nothing to do with the independence of judges, they can still decide freely whether somebody is innocent or not. But in case of a guilty verdict: jail, not bail.

Ford is right the courts, more like the judges, must be held accountable. These criminals come before a judges court. It’s within that judges discretion to say no bail, no cash bail, a bail bond or house arrest until trial.
But these radical left liberal judges here give more rights to the criminals vs the victims.
I believe it’s time to overhaul our criminal processes completely. If you commit a violent crime and there are victims and or injuries, even death, they should never be bailed out period.
Steven Harper has brought in minimum mandatory sentences for any and all crimes commissioned with a gun. I believe it was a 5 year minimum term. No early release served 5 full years. But as soon as Screwdeau got in first thing he did was end that.
Or how about this, if these judges release a criminal back on the streets then if that criminal commits another crime then these judges get charged for assisting in the commission in that crime
Do you remember back when people were apprehensive about bringing in immigrants from all corners of the earth. He said, and I have it saved, that if any immigrant he welcomed here were caught committing a crime in Canada he would take personal responsibility for it and deport that person.
No I am not saying every immigrant brought here or illegally allowed to enter Canada are criminals.

Someone said that politicians are accountable every four years. While true its not quite the same thing. Some politicians commit crimes that the rest of us would go to jail for. While there may have been others I know of only one that went to jail, but that was for murder

Nice sentiment but totally impossible,you can always tell when an election is on the horizon. Where are you going to put them? Jails & treatment centers are already over capacity. It’s almost impossible for people to get help for mental health issues which helps fuel this crisis.The only way to have accountability is to fund resources & more jails, which they won’t do.
