Very nice shop, I know you and your wife are proud of your new shop, now you can work on your Nova and other projects with plenty of room. I built my shop in 2012, I have a 1966 Chevrolet pickup and 1931 model a I keep in my shop, always remember you only go around one time, hope yall enjoy your new shop, Sharp Nova.
Thank you for the kind words. The shop is close to done now and the nova has had many changes. I should have a new video up in the next couple days. Thanks for watching
I seen your comment , 26x26 with 10ft walls .. did you go with a 8ftx16ft door ? And for your truss which pitch 4/12 or 6/12 .. has a nice peak on it I like it , great build! Awesome video!
Very nice. Im curious on the gable end over hang, I couldn't tell but it look like the plywood just over hung the gable end without any support??? Usually there is 2X4 "lookouts" ( I think that's what they are called ) but I didn't see anything like that. ?
Thanks for the view and comment. I had not noticed it in the video but it does look like it is just hanging out there. I was at home the day the guys put up the end and I had to watch the video several times to see the 2X4 go up it happens fast and is immediately followed by the trim board. you have a good eye to catch that. thanks for the comment and for watching again I should have more videos up soon.
Thanks for watching the video man! Yes it will be a full roller. Sorry it has been a while since my last update but it is taking a bit to get the garage set up. Hopefully I will have a update soon. Thanks again for watching and the sub!
Thanks for the sub!! I have mad a lot of progress on the shop I just need to get it edited and uploaded HVAC is in 200 amp panel and enough power to light up a small village. should be uploading more soon.
I'm pretty sure that house wrap vapor barrier is supposed to be under all siding, also shouldn't you have louvers or sofets for condensation purposes? Is everything coded and permited? You should have an inspector out if not.
You have the makings of a good channel started here. Keep up the good work. I notice your in a colder climate. Planning on using a Heat Pump for the Garage?
Thank you for complement I will be uploading a lot more in 2018 than last year. I live in Kansas and I would rather use gas but I am going with a pump for convenience in the space. I will be making a video about the HVAC system I hope within the next month or so. Thanks again for the sub and be looking for more to come.
How tall are your side walls to the top plate. Mine are 115" 104 and 5/8 studs with 3 bottom plates and 3 top plates. Wish now I had just used 10' studs. I'm using similar trusses as well but means if I ever get a lift it will have to be installed in the center.
cost of just the concrete and the shell i would assume (depending on area) around 20K that's what I payed. The interior is a wild card I am still working on mine but I have full hvac insulation, data, 200Amp panel and other things. I hope to get more videos up but I have not been able to yet thanks for watching and I will post more later.
I am working on getting them out now. hvac and electrical is in and I am hanging drywall now. to many projects and not enough time. thanks for watching
Construction only 22,000 26X26X10ft walls. Thanks for the comment, I have a lot of footage i will be adding soon I am painting the walls now and finalizing my lighting
I was told with the soil we have and the location of my home (on top of a hill) we did not need it. I was not sure myself but it is up for a year and I have not had any random discoloration after any rain so only time will tell. thanks for watching I am getting ready to post an update video soon.
Thanks for the response, I know how the saying goes with a garage never being big enough, but that looks like a good size. I'm thinking that may be the size I go with as well due to it being the max that set backs would allow. I wanted to go 30ft, but don't think zoning would approve.
This was as large as I could go due to zoning myself. My local utility company was out Friday to hook up power to the electric meter and was not sure how the city let me build as close to the easement as they did. The power lines are almost over the garage. Good luck with your build and if I you are contemplating 8ft or 10ft side walls I would highly suggest 10ft if possible it gives so much room for storage.

I realize this is a older video, but how did you make the trusses? I like the height they give you for a lift.
