Thanks for covering this, really clearly laid out and easy to follow. I never know how much RUclips messes with the sound, I'm keen to give these and go and see what my friends think online in a ps party chat. Anyways, great vid, thanks.
I love it regardless since I don’t really like overear headsets since I wear glasses; especially playing for long periods as well. The additional bluetooth is awesome as well! Great Video
Thanks for this video. Very useful. I'm testing the Hammershead Hyperspeed, Inzone Buds, Pulse 3D and Logitech 435 and everybody says my mic doesn't sound crystal clear as yours for example. Any advice? Thanks!
Yikes. Those mics are not great. But holy COW, the noise cancelling is insanely good! Kinda funny how the wired EarPods actually sounded the best with regards to the mic, but performed TERRIBLY with noise.
the wired earpods shocked me with how clear the mic quality was. there was some kind of static on the background which was unclear what it's coming from, but it had the best quality from all of the in-ear buds, the only reason the headset won over it is the extendable mic it has.
Does these earbuds have a sidetone feature? I have the Sony Inzone Buds at the moment and they sound really great but the sidetone is horrible. I almost can not hear my own voice at all which is very distracting. I can set this up in the Inzone Hub on the PC, but i all the changes i am making there only have an effect on the PC usage. So i thin all the settings for sidetone, EQ etc. are useless for PS5 usage. So what about the sidetone on these? Can you hear your own voice in a PS5 Chat?
Yes, good question, can you control/use mic monitoring to hear your own voice.. it’s a really important feature for me because it’s hard to control your voice when you are blasting call of duty multiplayer guns/explosions into your ears
Do you know if the Pulse Explore Earbuds have a mute button somewhere? I've been trying to figure this out from reviews, as Sony's page for them mentions a mute button, but reviews say there isn't one (either dual function or some other separate button).
@@HomeTheaterGamercan’t wait! I preordered mine from bestbuy and will pick them up in store tommorw! Got my portal on launch! Early Christmas gifts for me💯💯💯
I think they want you to use the controller to mute yourself. If you’re on the phone or pc, there’s no function per say unless you do it through the system’s mute settings
You can just press the mute button on the controller. Seems more convenient to me by pressing the controller rather than reaching up to tap the earbud.
Got these yesterday...guys said I sounded terrible. I maxed my mic. volume on my PS5, but they still couldn't hear me/muffled broken speech. Know idea what to do about it.
I know it's gonna be sold out everywhere 'cause it's got the Sony name but holy ** the pulse earbuds are sold out and the playstation remote players sold out this is insane I got on there as quickly as I could to pre-order everything sold out everywhere
How about you review a product in the way it was meant to be used? I don't know maybe review a game purposed mic with game sounds on the background? Then you might understand why they choose to go with that particular eq setup...
This isn't a review; this is a mic test as stated in both the title and thumbnail. However, testing as you suggested would be completely irrelevant here. There will be no game sounds in the background or in your room. This is not a chat only headset, this is intended for all game audio and chat audio to be played back through it.
I was really looking forward to the PS explore earbuds. But that mic quality is just awful!!! I currently use Sony XM4 headphones with a wired connection to my controller, and will use basic apple earphones majority of the time!!! What’s the comfortability like?
That is very interesting. I hadn’t heard that. Might not be a full length video but a quick RUclips short or something I can do pretty fast this weekend.
U do a video for unboxing, then separate video for mic test, but not video on the sound? Again, that's the most important thing. Give the ppl what they care about the most. And u could have done sound and mic in the same video. It's things like that that ultimately prevents ur channel from being typical to great.
I agreed not to talk about the general sound quality on my channel until AFTER the review video goes live for eCoustics sometime next week. I wanted to cover something about these on my channel while working on the review for eCoustics, because as I said in this video, I’m not making any money off of the eCoustics videos. I’m simply helping them out. I also don’t typically cover gaming peripherals and focus more on home theater, and I’m remembering why that is now. For reference, I do not work for eCoustics; they asked if I’d like to review these for them and I said yes.
Hey Brad. I think they are pretty good considering the size and how far they are away from the mouth.

that fan test was crazy
How does one find an honest review? I have noticed a lot like this

How about a range test? With the ps link adapter
Can I use these with my Series X and Switch via Bluetooth for game sound/chat as well as my PS5 with the PlayStation Link?
You need to get paid!! Where’s the money Sony??

Wow that AI is working OT on those explore headphone 😂😂😂
which earbuds and headsets would you reccomend for gaming and GREAT mic quality?

I’ve unfortunately not found a mute function on the headset itself.

@@HomeTheaterGamer Is there a mic monitor when you're using the earbuds in a PS voice chat? If so, can you still hear yourself when muted?
I really was looking forward to the buds but the mic quality makes me not want to buy them, it's really bad for such an expensive device
I'm surprised that I liked the Jabra elite mic sound best.

Just a question are they right? Feels like they are flipped on your head
They are correct (the earbuds each have left and right labels on them). They're just funky looking.
I just plan on using these for the portal
I'm getting the pulse elite, so the audio is ok for the exlpore earbuds?
Same I am gettig the pulse elite just cause I was concerned about the pulse earbuds battery life
@@wildbrick5371I’ve used them for almost 4 hours and still had 50 percent left
people need to stop getting console focused products and testing the mic on pc. Its annoying
Well then. Jokes on you… I recorded the mic on a Mac! 😁
I know it's gonna be sold out everywhere 'cause it's got the Sony name but holy ** the pulse earbuds are sold out and the playstation remote players sold out this is insane I got on there as quickly as I could to pre-order everything sold out everywhere
If your in the UK its available via Currys website delivered on release day
Disappointed in the mic quality.
Can you adjust between the chat and game volume?
Yes, you can do that directly on the console

I’m still using my pulse because it still work and my friends are too. But our soft foam thing is kinda coming ofg

How long is to charged battery to full?
4 hours
Test low latency when using phone to play fps game , please. Thanks
Honestly the pulse was the clearest mic the rest had more echo and such overall the pulse were better for mic and such then the rest from this video
I wish you ate some chips. I heard the explore was so good that we wouldnt even hear you eating chips.

@@HomeTheaterGamer I'll keep my eyes peeled! It was IGNs review that mentioned something about it btw.
The mic sounds terrible on the ear buds
Mic quality is awkward guys
