It's a matter of opinion naturally, but I think the 90's was the best decade for music. I would say the 60's maybe had the most impact, or at least definitely one of the decades with the most impact. That is when rock as we know it now started taking shape. I think when it comes to our favourite decades for music we tend to go with what we grew up with. For me that's the 80's and 90's, and despite what I just said about the bias we're prone to I believe (being objective as I can) those were the best decades for music.
Linda Perry once said something along the lines of how she's still living in the 60's or 70's when it comes to music. I get what she means, though ironically her band was a nineties band and if anything ahead of its time.. Tbh, not to sound like a stereotype grumpy old fart lol but I think music has greatly declined in talent since the millennium. A lot of people agree. Millennials just don't have the grasp of it musicians did before, they have this nasty habit of pouring out this lame, generic, soulless R'n'B and poncy, lazy, pop rock crap. Look at 'rock stars' like Ed Sheeran - that ain't rock. Not to go into it all but a lot of it has to do with young men having less testosterone every generation. So many men now look like scrawny, uptight teenage boys. Christ, take hipsters for example. That's the death of testosterone right there.

4 Non Blondes was an alternative rock and hard rock band in the early nineties when alternative rock was in vogue. They had great commercial success with their second single "What's Up?" taken from the first and only studio album, "Bigger, Better, Faster, More!" released in late 1992. The album peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200 in 1993 when the second single mentioned was at the height of its success at that time. "What's Up?" reached number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100. The album managed to sell one and a half million copies in the United States alone. In the UK, the single reached the top ten and was also a big commercial success all over the world. The album also peaked at number four in the UK's bestseller and was certified gold for sales of over 100,000 units. Overall, the album was a commercial success and sold over six million copies. Still in the nineties, members of the 4 Non Blondes, led by Linda Perry, decided to officially finish and Linda Perry was more successful as a composer of other artists such as Christina Aguilera. A great alternative rock album and a worldwide commercially successful single are left in history!

This song is great! Linda is a gifted songwriter, she goes right to the jugular with a hook that catches you and doesn't stop. What I like about this one is how it sounds like Jimi Hendrix and Prince getting together on a collaboration, it has all the elements of hard rock, funk, and soul. Spectacular!

IMHO Linda Perry is a Genius. By far the most talented female musician alive. I'd actually say one of the most talented Musicians alive regardless of Gender and I grew up in the 60's, 70's & 80's.

+DarthPanik64 Depends on what 90's you view as fun. Never got into 4 NON. Not to put them down, but they were a bit too much on the pop flower child revival side of the 90's for my taste. The bands from the 90's that brought back fond memories for me were Weezer, Veruca Salt, the Toadies or Tool. But at the end of the day, no matter what side of the 90's you were on back then, we can all come together in harmony to say that today's music is crap!!! Even the stuff I couldn't stand back then is welcomed to be played on my radio over the no talent hacks that are coming out today. We are headed back to the trend of the sixties were session musicians like the "Wrecking Crew" (not to be mistaken for the 80's Rap group) will be doing all the unsung studio work in the background to make idiots like the Bieber or Katy Perry sell records to zombies!!! This is the song they should've been known for, This whole album is great, I always regarded it as being in the same league as Nevermind, Blood Sugar Sex Magic, Downward Spiral, Siamese Dream, Superunkown, any other classic album from that era.

Wow, I just heard this for the first time ever, and I think it's so much better -- so much more of an interesting, lively, energetic piece of music than what 4 Non Blondes is most well-known for, their 1-hit wonder, "What's Up"! Too bad they broke up shortly after achieving commercial success; it'd be interesting to see what sort of other great music they'd have been able to come up with over the years. :/
