      So Delboy chose well.

    2:45 - Bongiorno
    2:52 - Louvre doors.
    and 1:02 - "Que Sera Sera" is according to wiktionary: A hispanicization of the artificial Italian language phrase "che sara sara", from standard Italian quel che sarà, sarà (“what will be, will be”), which hispanicization was made by American composers Jay Livingston and Ray Evans for use as the title to their 1956 song “Que Sera, Sera” (as such, this phrase represents an artifice based upon an artifice).

      I love it too, but I think what made it special was that unlike amatuerish American-inspired comedy that tries too hard in every line, OFAH has a good balance of humour and sombre moments where you connect and relate with the characters. So the jokes land better -they are more unexpected and actually make you laugh.

    John Sullivan worked at a 2nd hand car salesman before he went to the BBC. The owner would always try to impress and kept using French or Latin phrases. The staff either got confused if they didn’t know what it meant or if they did but the phrase had no relevance to the request lol. “Give that car a chapelle ardente” etc lol.
    David Jason had a trade as an electrician before being an actor and his then boss was the sort of man who ‘dressed like a lord and spoke like a fishmonger’. Put the two together and you get DelBoy Trotter.

      Exotic Moods What, you mean proper Cockney? I bloody ope so! I rarely hear it now, in day to day life and even on the tele it's not too common. Even some of the characters in EastEnders don't sound like proper Cockneys.

    • @jane1975
      @jane1975 2 года назад

      @@staceykeeley4219 A real Cockney is from Cheapside, going eastwards - Bow area. Del is from South London [ Peckham is in South East London ] so its just a regular London twang. David and his brother, Arthur who is also an actor where both born in North London. Nicholas Lyndhurst was born in Worthing in West Sussex. I think a true East London accent wouldn't be understood, some dialects can be a little too strong particularly for TV. Some of the cast from Eastenders are from London and some are just putting the accent on, its a pretty easy dialect to do, I think the hardest is Liverpool.
