- Josh Pate joins the show in his FIRST interview after the launch of his new show to talk about LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina, and the ceiling for both in 2024. Chris and Josh discuss what Sellers should look like in year one as a starter for the Gamecocks. They also discuss what it would take to get to 8+ wins this season, and why the defense could carry this team throughout the season. Pate also dives into why he thinks Shane Beamer and company could potentially upset Texas A&M this season, and tells us what college football storyline compares to the sequel to Twister.
Next Chris gets into a great audience question on if USC could/should take a page out of Georgia Tech's offensive playbook after what they did to Florida State in Dublin in Week zero. We break down the offensive identity and scheme and why it does make sense for South Carolina to run some similar concepts with their personnel and new coaching additions.
Finally the show closes with Chris releasing his first SEC Power Rankings of the season. Just how many teams did he have the Gamecocks ahead of heading into Week one?

LS 16 is the Marcus Lattimore of this team. A player who stayed home to go pro. Let’s talk about it. Even Caleb Williams had to sit behind Spencer then got his chance. Listen to Shane say in interview where he says he’s a State Champion how he compete. The man could of went anywhere to START! He does have Experience and knows the playbook well. I hate when people think because of Muschamp that SCAR can’t recruit and we’re avg. Hell Florida ain’t been the same since Muschamp. Beamer Ball will be the “Hype” this year next to Colorado Coach Prime.. meaning everyone gonna say how smart The HBC is and how far can Beamer go and is Carolina for real. Yes they are. The team last year is this team and they know what it takes. Spencer had a hell of a year with a inexperienced line and 1 season with D Lo. LS16 has a better line and 2 years. We gonna play sound against OD but people will see against Kentucky that we gonna “Fight” that’s what Gamecocks do. Spurs Up 🤙

I just don’t think you and Pate realize how good Sellers is. I believe by week 3 you both will be a believer!! Love the show by the way.
It's not even about Sellers. We already know he has LIMITLESS Talent. But Without a COMPETENT offensive line, he's gonna be Compromised.
Don't put that much pressure on sellers. He is good, but the rest of the team has to play at a level to compliment him.

@poloregal They'll BLAME him initially if they're LOSING. But if they use LOGIC, and COMMON SENSE, the ONLY way I see him struggling is if the offensive line doesn't do thier job. (Which I think will be a problem again this year)
@@MichaelMcMillan-i9pI don’t think the OL will be a problem this year. There were 2 true FRESHMEN starting last year. One of them wasn’t even here in the spring. They were constantly rotating around trying to find a workable combo of guys. Sellers is very mobile, even if the line isn’t stellar, he can still have a good year.

Hey, talking season almost over. We should have a really good defense. If we can run, we can play action pass some. We can tell a lot after first game, not talking score.
BAMA, AUBURN, AND SC SHOUD BE HIGHER. FLORIDA IS UBER TALENTED BUT THAT SCHEDULE IS ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL. I'M NOT THAT CONCERNED ABOUT THAT OLD DOMINION POINT SPREAD. I WANT TO WIN THAT GAME AND WIN AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. ASSUMING WE WIN , KENTUCKY IS MUST WIN. I WANT TO SEE A HUGE CROWD GREETING OUR GUYS AT THE AIRPORT. WE START 2-0 , THE SKY'S THE LIMIT.

40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIREANT DEFENSE. COMING OFF A 5-6 SEASON THIS UNDERSIZED DEFENSE AND A SCRAPPY TEAM MANAGED A 10-1 REEGULAR SEASON AND CAME WITHIN A WHISPER OF BEATING JIMMY JOHNSON AND OKLAHOMA ST IN THE GATOR BOWL. THIS TEAM REMINDS ME OF THE 84 TEAM WITH 11 JERSEYS FLYING TO THE FOOTBALL. MULTIPLE 4TH QUARTER COMEBACKS. I HATE TO DRINK THE KOOLAID BUT I SEE SO MUCH POTENTIAL IN THIS TEAM. WE DONT HAVE THE MASSIVE NOSE GUARD, BUT WE'VE GOT A LOT OF GUYS THAT WILL FLY TO THE BALL. IF THIS DEFENSE CREATES THE TURNOVERS WHICH I THINK THEY WILL , THIS TEAM SHOULD MATCH UP AGAINST ANYONE ON THIS SCHEDULE. MY ONLY GAME THAT I DON'T THINK WE CAN WIN IS AT ALABAMA. THESE GUYS HAVE CONTINUITY DEPTH AND AN UPGRADE ON TALENT ON DEFENSE. THE OFFENSIVE LINE HAS HUGE BLUECHIP TALENT , HOWEVER THEY LACK THE TWO YEARS IN THE WEIGHT ROOM. THIS TEAM WILL BE SNEAKY GOOD. THERE MAY BE DISAPPOINTMENTS HERE AND THERE BUT WE WILL BEAT THE LINE AND WIN A LOT OF GAMES. IF YOU ARE A GAMBLER AND GO WITH CAROLINA EVERY WEEK USING THE SPREAD YOU WILL MAKE MONEY. ONE OF MY BIGGER CONCERNS IS CAN WE ATTEMPT A 50 YARD FIELD GOAL IF WE NEED ONE. I'M SO READY. AND BTW , FSU IS HARD TO LIKE. THE MOST ARROGANT BUNCH IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. I'm almost sure that Shane Beamer is the younger version of Steve Spurrier and if you go back and look at what Spurrier did it's almost the same record at this stage of there tenure at South Carolina!I'm thinking 8@4 this season is definitely doable!

RATTLER WAS MIGHTY GOOD. CERTAINLY DIDN'T HAVE SHAWS CAST AROUND HIM. I LOVE SHAW AS MUCH FOR HIS FIGHT AS I DO FOR HIS TALENT. HE WAS A 2 STAR RECRUIT OUT OF FLOWERY BRANCH. HE SENT TAPE TO SPURRIER AND TOLD SPURRIER HE WANTED TO LEARN AND BE COACHED UNDER HIM. WAS CERTAINLY THE MOST SUCCESSFUL.
