This is fascinating. It seems that upper tier men are more interested in a woman’s looks and position in society than her intelligence or accomplishments. As a person who has been married for 45 years I can tell you that mutual attraction and love will get you married, but what keeps you married are things like respect, trust, commitment, common goals and values. That is what I wish for you and your lovely fiancée AKM😀
Wow 😮 thank you for this video. I don't know what to say to that. It's for me (as a german single-woman) so disturbing and discriminatory that a person is not seen as an individual with feelings, interests, hobbies and a unique charakter, but only as an object to maintain a class system from the past. The "Asian Tiger" still has a lot to catch up on. Money isn't everything in life. 😢❤
Wow! This seems so dystopian and depressing in my opinion. I thought the categories would at least somehow include people's interests, values, hobbies and stuff like that. But no, it's only education, profession, social status, money, and the wealth of your parents. Categorising people in tiers like this seems so disrespectful and backwards to me as an outsider. It reminds me of how they separate people in the Hunger Games. I'd assume that the majority of koreans still meet their partners naturally, so I hope this agency would only be a last resort for people who are struggling with dating.
No wonder that the marriages in SK decrease…I know those firms too but we don‘t have such a grade system and from my point of view this is discriminating. And the first and most important reason for a relationship should always be Love…
I wonder if a woman who has taken her life to a much higher success threshold than her parents, would still be considered a lower tier? Here in the US, the highest status couples match mostly due to being in the same social circles, although the true “old wealth” does seek to match with someone of like status. “New wealth” high status men most often seek to pair up with the most surgically embellished, or seductive women, who most often come from a low social status. You can tell the actual quality of the man by the partner he chooses and whether she’s for “display”, or to love, protect and respect.
I can’t imagine how anyone would “fall in love” using this table. Love is so much more . Love is trusting the person you are with to always be there for you - Wealthy and attractive Or -average looking and flat broke !
As u was reading the chart a sadness came over me. Because marrying someone base money career or status and ratings it is just wrong. In society everyone is valuable no one is better because of a career part.we are all human beings we all have a body.that has many different parts that is needed for that body to function.that is the same in society. So someone who is garbage man or security guard may make less money but is still just as valuable. And should never be viewed lower than a person who works in the corporate world. It wrong and it is very superficial. People marrying for these reasons. Is why infidelity is rampant.
Thank you for giving us insight on matchmaking, so very interesting. While matchmaking services are discussed in Kdramas, it is usually by the top tiers who discuss & set up blind dates & of course you don’t need much more info to see what they are looking for. It is interesting about the lower tiers. In terms of compatibility, meeting someone naturally & falling in love is much better. Take care & have a blessed day.
That good jobs are graded so low... 😮😮 weird... It's one thing to put ppl together when they like and have money, but to rank perfectly fine ppl as losers and low-lives is painful to them.
I heard another YT Korean content creator mention how the K-drama plots that involve cross-class romances as something truly fantastical and out of the pages of a fairy tale. Is it that rare? People don't "meet cute" at a cafe or concert or in class?
This is the most amusing chart I have ever seen 동생. Are these superficial matches very successful? Or do the matchmaking agencies just take people's money and run?
That’s fascinating. Generally, I have found that Asian men have little to no romantic feelings or emotions. I don’t like generalizing at all, but after dating several Asian men over the years I can attest to this. I think it stems from the typical “show no soft emotion “ instilled in boys from birth.
Wow, a tad strict hierarchy, but then the western society also has such financial and social division too. Marriage seeking is not bad though, it’s good the intention still exists😅
Thanks for sharing! This list seems random. Celebrities and people from families with $35 million are lower than SNU graduates? High school teachers are at the same level as pharmacists, doctors and securities traders? Crazy!
My first thoughts on tier 1, is that you are not marrying the woman’s parents. I hope these men would want someone with similar interests and intellect as them. I suppose the women could also be in the same professions as the men, and have wealthy or prestigious parents. Anyway, you’re really narrowing the playing field when you get to the top tier.
I thoroughly enjoy your channel but if this match making service is a reflection of Korean values I’m glad I don’t live is S. Korea. I know status carries a lot of weight in many societies but it looks like if you used one of these agencies you end up with more of a roommate than a spouse
That whole business is discriminatory and misogynistic. Anyone who joins deserves to lose their fee money, which I'm sure is excessive. There must be groups one can join for free to meet other singles or is this another status thing.

no wonder the birthrate is low!
That was fascinating! Thank you for going to the trouble of translating all of that.
Thank you. That was quite informative.😊

I think in that case, it would be on the higher side for sure!
How successful are these agencies!
This is so superficial. The divorce rate is sure to skyrocket!
What happened to LOVE!
❤❤
I can’t imagine how anyone would “fall in love” using this table.
Love is so much more .
Love is trusting the person you are with to always be there for you -
Wealthy and attractive
Or -average looking and flat broke !
Love is overrated. 90% of divorced people were in love.
It was the trust that was broken-
Not the love .
Without trust -there is no marriage.
this is why I dropped out of sociology class my freshman year in college LOL

I have seen in other videos about these match making companies. Not a fan of how this is done. It's like a business deal versus finding a companion .
I'd be grade 14.😁

No wonder mariage decrease in korea in france match making priority is affinity common taste between the persons money comes after
I might need to use the service 😅
Thank you for providing interesting and informative videos.
Love trumps all! ❤
А человеку нужен крепкий чай…
А не меха, какие подороже.

И улыбаться: - Я скучала тоже… (Т.Степанова)
This looks so toxic

Thankfully, I met my husband in college! ❤❤ I don’t think I would’ve done well with matchmaking or online dating! 😂

I'm not sure if they are very successful but they don't just run away with money

🥰😘
Quite demeaning for women. My daughter has female friends who graduated from SNU and KAIST so I guess they don’t rate 🤔😞
Wow A.K.M. That’s intense!! I can’t believe I’d be 13th rank 🤣 ouch! 🤣 Thank the Lord I’m already married. 😂
Thanks for sharing🫡
My wife’s a 7th rank! Score! Not bad 🤙
That's very high!

That’s awful. Really, if this is what people have to put up with, no wonder fewer and fewer people want to get married. Does it actually work?

Good morning from china

Do you think the birth rates would be higher if this table didn't exist? Perhaps loving someone without pressures of status 💁♀
No I think this is another issue
How about if Grade 1 is objectively very unattractive and Grade 15 is the most beautiful person you've ever seen?
I don't know hahaha
