Probably because they call themselves a "post death-metal" band, implying that a) death metal is finished and b) they are somehow better than death metal bands. Plus death metal fans won't like the watered down sound. But it's actually not bad.
Post-anything is ridiculous, but post death metal? Is that a thing now? C'mon, they sound more metalcore than anything else combined with a 'doomy' later Katatonia/Ghost Brigade sound. Nuclear Blast and stupid labels. And I like this band, I just cant stand stupid hipster labels for music
