Here in Texas, cattle rustling is very much still going on. I believe the Texas Rangers have a devoted branch or whatever just for those investigations. Some cattle ranches in Texas are thousands of acres, so it is possible that those cattle only see humans at certain times of the year. And yes, branding is still a way of life. Hot or cold, still continues. Some rustlers, if they hide the stolen cows long enough, will change the brand. Brands in Texas are registered. Until about 8 or 10 years ago, Texas was the number one cattle producing state. I'm glad your channel popped up on my feed. As a former farmer, cattle and hog producer in IL, I'm also learning. Thank you.
"I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell". Sorry, I couldn't resist. There was a movie made not too long ago (starring Robert Duval?), that featured (open or free) grazing. Very good movie. However, I don't recall the time period in which it was set. There was also something fairly recently about a conflict involving grazing on public (federal) land, if I remember correctly. Oh yeah, the movie is called "Open Range".
Wow that's a little sketchy not fencing your cattle in and using public land to graze. Although it might be a good idea I don't really think it is because the opportunity for missing cattle like now the percentage is higher thank you for the video you look amazing as usual much love from Virginia
Oh so they're practicing transhumance but without moving themselves? That's pretty cool. Definitely feels unusual as an east coaster, but it was much more common before the enclosure of the commons. I'm surprised the US allows grazing on public lands anywhere, but I guess I shouldn't be; big country, diverse laws!

No bugs needed to pollinate tomatoes. Just give the plant a little shake. Tomatoes are wind pollinated. Thanks for your content.
@@nancythomas2602 thanks! I'm not a big agronomy/plant person so I appreciate any and all tips!
