The Fly is a very "draining" movie. You'll be exhausted after watching it and not need to watch again for years. That's not to say it's bad. Just the opposite--it's incredible. It's because it's so good and you're so involved in the story and characters that it has such an impact on you. It does NOT have a happy ending. It's similar to Requiem for a Dream how you feel after watching it. You watch someones life fall apart in a very graphic manner.
Well said. I just rewatched it after many years and it's definitely draining. The third act truly wrecked me. So much emotional depth in the characters, and everybody involved loses in the end. Combine all that with the body horror and it's a wrap. Very good acting my Geena Davis and Goldblum to suck you into their story. Definitely an experience I wouldn't want to go through again anytime soon.
I get pumped watching this movie! When his head splits open, that's like cocaine right there! All the juices and goops, Fuck yeah this movie rocks and makes me wanna do jumping jacks!!!
especially holiday movies. You know family is gonna be involved, so if you can come up with a good movie people will wanna watch, everyone will be a bit more happier.
Mason Young Geoff Goldbloom was pretty fly in this movie.... and there was a lot of buzz about this movie at the time of its release....lol.... come on, have some pun with me.
The movie functions as an analogy of sorts to disease in general as well I think. The way that a brain tumour or dementia for example can just take hold of someone you love and very gradually, and irrevocably change them into a shadow of their former selves, while you have to wait for the inevitable.
Scott Karrasch 50 movies are coming out in the next 2 months and only 3 of those are Disney movies, so where are the other 22 movies that are owned by Disney that you speak of?
Totally agree, and that's because practical effects, whrn they're done well, always stand the test of time and are way more emersive. With digital, technology always evolves, so moat of what looked great in the 2000s now looks kinda shaky and even the stuff that holds up isn't as captivating or impressive as practical, because you know it's a visual effect
Definitely. An American Werewolf in London was played last week at one of my local theaters as a double feature with King Kong (1933). Great nostalgia experience! However, there is much more comedic elements to that movie than I remembered.
@@RayAtchley the original fly movie itself was an adaptation of the fly short story. Technically, both fly movies are adaptations. It’s just the Jeff goldbloom fly is a less faithful adaptation.
more lika an adaptation. the older one from the 50s was a short film and they are not at all similar movies. also, it doesn't really matter, the 1986 one is the definitive version anyway.
IF SECONDARY ELEMENT IS FLY. WHAT HAPPENED TO FLY? -FUSION ASSIMILATION? DID BRUNDLE ABSORB FLY? -NEGATIVE -FUSION OF BRUNDLE AND FLY AT MOLECULAR-GENETIC LEVEL Guess you could call it a programming... bug. High-five anyone?
Nice to see you review a classic again, please do that more often! Sadly many people these days have forgotten about cinematic gems like the fly, to kill a mockingbird, barry lyndon, 2001: a space odyssey, 12 angry men, duck soup, city lights, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, rope, lifeboat, vertigo, the last of the mohicans, invasion of the body snatchers, etc.
YESSSSS. Thank you, Jeremy! This is absolutely my favorite horror movie, hands down. The practical effects are phenomenal, the psychology is gripping and disturbing, and indeed the descent of Seth's character is terrifying yet heartbreaking. Surprised you didn't talk about Veronica's dream sequence, though; no spoilers here, but that's the only scene that I have to look away from because it freaks me out so much. ono Overall, though, The Fly is most definitely one of the greatest, and Brundlefly will forever be the best movie monster. Well gee, now I have no excuse not to bust it out again for Halloween!
Saw the film, never want to have or hear an intellectual discussion about it. I literally skip my daily dose of my anti depressants if I have a cold because I don't want to mix that shit with cold medicine, man. That movie fucked me up.
Man, I love these reviews on older movies. Whether it's a look at something I've never seen before or just listening to Jeremy get excited about nostalgic movies I love, please do some more!
Jeremy you should review *Ghost Rider (2007)* and the *Blade trilogy* in the spirit of Halloween and for Dr Strange which is coming out in a few weeks.
The practical effects are pure gold! Like you said, The Fly and The Thing showcase perfectly why digital effects will never be as good or as scary as practical ones. It's just rule number 1 when you make horror movies
Kelvin Kuang great compassion the drama and the interest is there, only difference is that the main characters are kids and Jeff Goldblum is the man as a main character
Ryan R. That's Howard Shore on a Tuesday. Keep in mind that he made the scores of Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Silence of the Lambs, among many others.
Yeah, Shore did a great job. I like how the first act is almost scored like a romantic comedy. Then after the first Brundle teleportation, it shifts toward a darker, creepier tone.
just finished watching this...geena Davis gives such an emotional performance and u can't help but be sad at the end....this is a great movie that ages better with time....i can't wait to show this to my daughter when she gets older....this is a well made film
OMG Jeremy you're doing throwbacks!! I'm Busting Over Here - BUSTING!! Ok. I loved The Fly. I even loved the original Fly movie done in 1958 with Vincent Price...Vincent - amazing. But Jeff Goldblum is great in this movie. I loved the way they made him nerdy yet HOT. Which was Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park but in reverse - HOT yet nerdy. The Fly is almost like a creepy Limitless where the character goes from pathetic to incredibly great, but The Fly goes beyond that and takes it into totally gross!! One of my favorite scenes is when he is doing the documentary of how a fly eats. If they had of thought about a sequel, they could have done where scientists were trying to perfect his mistake to create the perfect soldier or something because before he morphed into an actual fly man he was strong, fast, agile, and ready to kill anything at anytime. But I'm glad you did this. Please do more classic reviews! In essence I loved what I've seen here and I'd love to see more! :)
Absolutely love this movie, a favourite of mine and even though it's emotionally draining and sad, I've watched the fly many times and I always get emotionally involved in the love story and brundle's transformation is so well done, so many layers to it and the allegories it has a horror masterpiece in my opinion!
This is one of the few shining examples of a remake that not only does it right, but does it better than the original ever could. It's the kind of deep-seated fear of grotesque inevitability, and the tragedy of that, which sticks with you long after the film is over. Masterful; without a dbout one of Cronenberg's masterpieces.
Props for giving this movie respect. One of my all time favorite Cronenberg/ Horror movies. I would actually like to see more nostalgic movie reviews from you! can be pretty cool!
eventyraren from wiki: "Contemporary reviews and commentary generally referred to the film as simply The Thing. The longer title only resurfaced later to distinguish the earlier film from another adaptation of the Campbell story, The Thing (1982 film)."
Yup, but Carpenter's version is closer to the source material (a short story called Who Goes There) than the '58 version and is a very different movie.
You know the (1986) The Fly is a perfect remake of the Vincent Price (1958) original & John Carpenter's The Thing is also a well done remake of the (1951) The Thing from Another World. another good review as always Jeremy have a great week. I think they should do remakes every 30 years after the original by a good director that loves the original and would work it's hardest not to ruin what the original created but to top it. P.S next do a review of the (1973) Soylent Green with Charlton Heston.
Actually no, this movie is a re-imagining of the original The Fly (1958), in that one the man and the fly instantly switch heads (like in the Simpsons) and they must recover the fly to switch them back, in this one they don't know about the transformation as it slowly happens and they only take notice halfway, honestly this is the superior version in script, effects and tone, but the 1958 one has the better characters and cinematography.
Just got this on Blu-Ray, and you are so right it still holds up today. Along with the Thing and the Blob it is among the best of the 80's horror remakes!
The Vagabond for a movie like that one review is all I need. but off topic I just saw deep water horrizon. any body else think that was kind of masterfully made like I do? lol
Both The Fly and John Carpenter's The Thing are remakes, which is kind of funny when saying "Never remake them". :-) As for a "monster sci fi movie" post The Fly that's awesome - Jurassic Park.
My dad took me to watch this when I was like 8 years old. I WAS A KID! To this day, he remembers that I was terrified and I had nightmares after watching this, and I'm like "yeah, I was 8 years old, what did you expect?!?". I remember covering my face in fear in that dark cinema by the end. ...and it was exhilarating! Best damn horror movie, I've watched it several times since back in the day and still gives me the creeps! The performance, the effects, the soundtrack, the direction... It's kinda cheesy but in a good sense! Recommended to everyone!
I clearly recall seeing The Fly when I was just a teen with a friend at a midnight showing in Amsterdam that had us both in tears by the end. Aside from the terrible transformation of Goldblum's character, at its heart its a tragic and doomed love story that I will make a point of seeing again. Thanks for sharing Jeremy Jahns
one of my favorite scenes is when he's looking at the blue bug zapper light and he's commenting on how beautiful and awe inspiring the light is, and he's just sitting there gazing at it.
Isaakix455 as to why the thing is better than the fly? It subjective. But I like the story better and the effects hold up more. I think that Kurt Russell gave a better performance rather than Jeff goldblum.
Nothing beats the 2 though because if Hollywood even so much as try to remake them they will fuck it up with all the bullshit CGI enhanced effect that don't even look practically real.
Yes people. The Fly, The Thing and Scarface are all 80's remakes. But noticed how great they were. Most remakes back then were not done for money but a guarantee that you could make a better or equally impressive movie. They were a lot fewer remakes back then and most were great!
its not that shitty. its B for sure but it had some interesting ideas and was a proper and mostly competent sequel. and the dog scene is heartchurning.
nah nah I'm talking from the general public opinion.... everybody who watched it in general .... I thought it was okay but every time I said people look at me like I'm from another world
Matthew Flanagan I saw that movie when I was 12 and I still don't get wtf the plot was about? the whole time I was confused on how it relates to the first movie
This came out the same summer (86) as "Aliens" which is also considered a superlative film. Which do you think is better, "The Fly" or "Aliens"? Alswo who would win in a fight, Brundlefly or a Xenomorph? I saw both at the movies that year and I can't believe it was over 30 years ago!
I remember watching this movie with my mom and the older 1958 version and the second one....eghh. But I love this movie and I didn't actually think anybody else liked it cause nobody ever talks about it. Glad to know someone appreciates it!
Jeremy, I haven't seen this film YET. but now I will. you said you weren't aware of a film showcasing the elements in this film. one that came to mind from your description is District 9.
I just watched it and man my brain was just kinda in awe. Loved the transformation at the end, literally had my jaw dropped, was almost shouting “GAHHHHLEE” as he was turning. I agree 100% with all his points, this was crazy. I’m actually surprised I never watched this before growing up.
I'm glad Jeremy is reviewing old stuff. He usually only does new movies and that means we won't always be getting posts but since he's doing old ones to an extent we might be seeing more uploads. Now if only we can get that luke cage review..
Omg. Can people like keep commenting saying they want Jeremy to review older movies? Like please, everyone do that so he can see. This was fantastic to watch. Not only is The Fly one of the best Horror movies ever made, its one of he best movies in general. Thank You Jeremy. Please, review more older movies!
The Fly is a very "draining" movie. You'll be exhausted after watching it and not need to watch again for years. That's not to say it's bad. Just the opposite--it's incredible. Yeah, I liked it but it’s not a movie I would watch often
Well said. I just rewatched it after many years and it's definitely draining. The third act truly wrecked me. So much emotional depth in the characters, and everybody involved loses in the end. Combine all that with the body horror and it's a wrap. Very good acting my Geena Davis and Goldblum to suck you into their story. I've seen The Fly, 3 times 😅
Nah it’s not draining it’s great sequencing in scenes
I get pumped watching this movie! When his head splits open, that's like cocaine right there! All the juices and goops, Fuck yeah this movie rocks and makes me wanna do jumping jacks!!!
The Fly still holds up today as a deeply unsettling monster movie. It's brilliant.
Watched it today first time totally agree
You should review older movies more often!!!
especially holiday movies. You know family is gonna be involved, so if you can come up with a good movie people will wanna watch, everyone will be a bit more happier.
yeah i think he should too
I would love to see him review more foreign movies. Train to Busan was FANTASTIC!
Mason Young Geoff Goldbloom was pretty fly in this movie.... and there was a lot of buzz about this movie at the time of its release....lol.... come on, have some pun with me.
it was meh..not as good as other Asian movie...Try 'The Flu'
The only thing that would scare a human sized Fly would be a human sized Spider lol. Great review.
A kinda B-rated horror movie about that, try Eight Legged Freaks.
Starfire1408 Yeah Eight Legged freaks is fun.
Harry Thomas Pictures or a big ass fly swatter
try Earth vs. the Spider 2001 then. that s what happens when you get bitten by a mutated spider but you don t become spiderman
Bustero
I guess you could say he looked pretty fly by the end of the movie
A little too fly for a white guy
Came here for this comment.
(Puts on glasses) YYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Emin Torlic don't you mean he was pretty fly for a white guy
I really dislike the fact that we can't like a person's comment anymore cause this sir deserves a like
You need to review older movies Jeremy.
***** Oh you know what I mean.
*More
The Thing!
CrownJules84 He did
I would like to see him review (The good the bad and the ugly "1966")
Was not expecting Jeremy to do a review on an older movie. I'm glad that he did though.
He's done a few on this channel, but they're years old.
AJA Ryan1994 I know, I've watched them, he just hasn't done them in a while.
King of Wakanda How are you in every video? do you even work or something?
Say What Again i Dare you i Double Dare you! Yup.
Yeah he reviewed Terminator 2:Judgement Day
The shining (1980) is coming out in theaters this weekend! You should review that!
Yes!
why? re release?
Stona Raptor
Why? Cause they can.
Re release? Yes!
Ugh it makes me wish more than ever I lived in America. I would do anything to see one of my favourite movies on the big screen!
Just curious! What country do you live in?
One of the saddest ending I've ever seen in this film.
Check out the Dancer in the dark movie by Lars von Trier
Kind of like An American Werewolf in London.
Only ending of this film.
@@pickzkickz 🤣
Geena Davis went back to his apartment WAYYY more times than I would've.
That's what I was thinking while watching it, like WHY.DO.YOU.KEEP GOING BACK.?? 😂
District 9 is the best 'The Fly' modern remake.
T-Flex great reference bunt the fly is deeeep into drama.
He's not really a villain/monster though. Actually, he was more antagonistic in the beginning before he got infected.
i thought the Tyler Perry produced "Precious" was a good remake.
too bad it sucked then.
the fly is a psycological horror, District 9 was a anvilicious political movie
The movie functions as an analogy of sorts to disease in general as well I think. The way that a brain tumour or dementia for example can just take hold of someone you love and very gradually, and irrevocably change them into a shadow of their former selves, while you have to wait for the inevitable.
I saw The Fly when I around 10... I was pretty horrified.
Me too. I actually am extremely phobic of flies now because of it. It was too real for me. One day I'll watch it again. One day...
I watched it when i was 9. I felt like puking at some scenes but loved it
Me too. It killed me. I couldnt sleep at night, but wanted to watch it again....Incredible..
I also watched The Fly, but I wasn't as terrified by it as when I saw the Mummy when an insect crawled under the skin of a man, that freaked me out.
+Igorcastrochucre I was horrified by The Mummy Returns cause the The Rock looked so bad! It was like Smackdown Just Bring It on ps2😂😂
I'm Never Watching This Movie While Eating Dinner AGAIN 😣
Please do more classic movie reviews! so much shit is released these days, it's nice to go back to a better era in movies :)
MrBibi86 agreed. .
Couldn't agree more!
Do you 'member Star Wars?
Half the movies coming out now are owned by disney... I feel movie culture has reached a stand-still
Scott Karrasch 50 movies are coming out in the next 2 months and only 3 of those are Disney movies, so where are the other 22 movies that are owned by Disney that you speak of?
practical effects are 10000 times better than any cgi will ever be in my opinion
Johan Botha compare any of the late 70s and 80s practical effects, it seems like done today.
I totally agree they were masters of their craft. They did not need CGI.
Dude definitely.
I think is very cool that you did a review of a old school movie. you should review American Werewolf in London.
I DIDNT MEAN TO CALL YOU MEATLOAF, JACK!!!
He did this a lot before
armando mederos jr That is an...awesometacular idea.
Definitely. An American Werewolf in London was played last week at one of my local theaters as a double feature with King Kong (1933). Great nostalgia experience! However, there is much more comedic elements to that movie than I remembered.
"Never remake _The Fly_ or _The Thing_."
They're both remakes.
Not really. More like re adaptations.
The fly is a remake the thing is a re adaption
Also Scarface is a remake and they are remaking it lol
@@RayAtchley the original fly movie itself was an adaptation of the fly short story. Technically, both fly movies are adaptations. It’s just the Jeff goldbloom fly is a less faithful adaptation.

Work can wait..
DOOM MARINE Same here. It's three in the morning but a new review is up so I got to watch it!

French Pineapple Work.... Can wait.

You guys are absolutely awesome. Love this movie. Thanks for digging just a little deeper than your average joe!
He should have guessed something was up the moment he realized he had inexplicably put on an eighth of an ounce.
Jeremy, you should do a list of your top 10 best movies of all time!
Nice to see you review a classic again, please do that more often! Sadly many people these days have forgotten about cinematic gems like the fly, to kill a mockingbird, barry lyndon, 2001: a space odyssey, 12 angry men, duck soup, city lights, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, rope, lifeboat, vertigo, the last of the mohicans, invasion of the body snatchers, etc.
most of these are great!!!
and then there's space odyssey.....
jim gordon yeah 2001 it's not great, its a master piece
Zinh0 maybe at 2x speed its a masterpiece....
Yeah, and they should add more explosions, swearing, nude scenes, obnoxiously loud comedy and butt rock music. THEN it'll be a masterpiece right?
People have not forgotten about half of the movies on this list
YESSSSS. Thank you, Jeremy! This is absolutely my favorite horror movie, hands down. Review. HELLRAISER and THE HOWLING 👍
maxx1mus1041 hellraiser is amazing
I think An American Warewolf in London is better.
maxx1mus1041 I was really freaked out by Hellraiser as a kid, i tought there was real evil in that VHS tape. Lol
I hope they don't try to remake Hellraiser, if it ain't broke don't even bother to fix it.
ypey1 Omg! I thought I was the only one.... It shit me right up!! I'm with you! :-)
The Fly is the perfect monster movie, it's basically the story of Frankensteins monster done the best it's ever been done.
Jeremy you should review *Ghost Rider (2007)* and the *Blade trilogy* in the spirit of Halloween and for Dr Strange which is coming out in a few weeks.
Ghost rider is truly one of the scariest movies ever made
Nicolas Cage... *shivers*
Yeah it gives me nightmare, cause of how disappointing it was. At least Blade had 2 good films before it died.
I actually enjoyed the 2007 ghost rider movie when it came out. I haven't seen it in a while so I dunno how well it stands up today.
Those movies aren't classics like this one.
The practical effects are pure gold! Like you said, The Fly and The Thing showcase perfectly why digital effects will never be as good or as scary as practical ones. It's just rule number 1 when you make horror movies
I'm trying to sleep Jeremy, thank you for keeping me awake for five extra minutes. I like your videos so I won't rek you this time.
Review The Shining (1980) directed by Stanley Kubrick , Classic film! and also Event Horizon (1997) movie , please Jeremy!
So, um, No Stranger Things comments?
Kelvin Kuang great compassion the drama and the interest is there, only difference is that the main characters are kids and Jeff Goldblum is the man as a main character

Kelvin Kuang completely agree. Jeremy review Stranger Things.
Have you seen the Hollow Man movies? What do you think about them? Comment below and let me know!
It's also extremely sad
THE SOUNDTRACK IS TOP NOTCH STUFF ;)
One of the best soundtracks!
The soundtrack is amazing.

Yeah, Shore did a great job. I like how the first act is almost scored like a romantic comedy. Then after the first Brundle teleportation, it shifts toward a darker, creepier tone.
Howard Shore presents an spectacular score for this one. One of my favourites soundtracks of all time!
Could you do a review for Scream? of was this throwback review a one time thing?
it's a random rarity
just finished watching this...geena Davis gives such an emotional performance and u can't help but be sad at the end....this is a great movie that ages better with time....i can't wait to show this to my daughter when she gets older....this is a well made film
2025.. Jeremy still hasn't reviewed Strange Things
GalgYchan n BOOM
And that's why he's the best reviewer. He ignores overrated garbage that's only popular because of nostalgia and artificial hype.
review yourself. don't depend on on him, you sound pathetic.
.......who cares?

The Fly is one of the BEST remakes next to John Carpenter's The Thing!

But "The Thing" and "The Fly" of the 80s are also remakes themselves...
they are both good lessons for remakes. The originals are great, but the new ones are totally unique and imo better.
+T2266 Yes. And I'm genuinely curious if he knows that.
Michael Hayden Me too, that's why I mentioned it.
T2266 by title only. They are completely different films from the original.
Tyler Jacobson
Completely different? Nope. They are very different yea. But both of the 80s adaptations still kept the basic premise of the originals.
Jeremy maybe you should make this a "thing". Make nostalgic reviews. That would be great!
King Arthur nostalgic critic is a thing on RUclips
Absolutely love this movie, a favourite of mine and even though it's emotionally draining and sad, I've watched the fly many times and I always get emotionally involved in the love story and brundle's transformation is so well done, so many layers to it and the allegories it has a horror masterpiece in my opinion!
Like if Jeremy should do more reviews of old movies!
Fun Fact: This movie was produced by Mel Brooks
So awesome to see you did this! I'm always happy when you do classic horror flicks.

I thought we'd never get another classic movie review on this channel
It's funny because this "The Fly" is a remake.
Props for giving this movie respect. One of my all time favorite Cronenberg/ Horror movies. I would actually like to see more nostalgic movie reviews from you! can be pretty cool!
I love The Fly. One of my favorite movies.
You started it, now you gotta do The Fly 2
that movie still freaks me out...the fly stands on its own
I like The Fly II (1989) as well, but The Blob (1988) is another great 80s horror remake, just like The Thing (1982) and The Fly (1986)
You should review the Babadook
1986 Fly is already a remake of "The Fly" of 1958
And, The Thing (1982) is already a remake of The Thing (1951)
The Thing from Another World (1959) to be exact
eventyraren from wiki: "Contemporary reviews and commentary generally referred to the film as simply The Thing. The longer title only resurfaced later to distinguish the earlier film from another adaptation of the Campbell story, The Thing (1982 film)."
Yup, but Carpenter's version is closer to the source material (a short story called Who Goes There) than the '58 version and is a very different movie.
"The Fly" of 1958 is a remake of "The Fly" 1903
Seth Brundle is the ultimate example of being pretty fly for a white guy. Also watch Videodrome and long live the new flesh.
The Fly (1986) and The Thing (1982) are 2 of the best remakes ever
You guys make it too hard to get my points.

please tell me this is the return of the classic reviews😀🙏😄

You know the (1986) The Fly is a perfect remake of the Vincent Price (1958) original & John Carpenter's The Thing is also a well done remake of the (1951) The Thing from Another World. another good review as always Jeremy have a great week. I think they should do remakes every 30 years after the original by a good director that loves the original and would work it's hardest not to ruin what the original created but to top it. P.S next do a review of the (1973) Soylent Green with Charlton Heston.
Well, guess I gotta go watch this now.
you should do more of these throwback movies. Its nice to look back on them again.
Is this the episode of Simpsons where Bart and the fly switch bodies?
Actually no, this movie is a re-imagining of the original The Fly (1958), in that one the man and the fly instantly switch heads (like in the Simpsons) and they must recover the fly to switch them back, in this one they don't know about the transformation as it slowly happens and they only take notice halfway, honestly this is the superior version in script, effects and tone, but the 1958 one has the better characters and cinematography.
If you mean a parody of it, yes.
I watched this back in January after only having seen it once as a kid and it is indeed a great movie that stands the test of time. Really good stuff.
When you have one hour till your physiology exam and 4 lectures to do so you decide to watch Jeremy's video instead..
Please do a review on the short "Borrowed Time" it's simply beautiful. It also would be awesome if you could shed light on it and give it attention.
Isn't this a remake of the 1958 one?
Manny Holliman yes it is
Just got this on Blu-Ray, and you are so right it still holds up today. Along with the Thing and the Blob it is among the best of the 80's horror remakes!
Where's the review for miss peregrine?
Titanium Virus who cares lol
Jake Gordon I do but it doesn't matter really
The Vagabond watch chris stuckmann's review (: to me those 2 are pretty interchangeable if one has reviewed something that the other hasn't
Jake Gordon I have, I'm subscribed to both of them :)
The Vagabond for a movie like that one review is all I need. but off topic I just saw deep water horrizon. any body else think that was kind of masterfully made like I do? lol
Both The Fly and John Carpenter's The Thing are remakes, which is kind of funny when saying "Never remake them". :-)
As for a "monster sci fi movie" post The Fly that's awesome - Jurassic Park.
omg... I finally get that Simpsons Tree House of Horror...
Recommended to everyone!
nice review. 5/7
I clearly recall seeing The Fly when I was just a teen with a friend at a midnight showing in Amsterdam that had us both in tears by the end. Aside from the terrible transformation of Goldblum's character, at its heart its a tragic and doomed love story that I will make a point of seeing again. Thanks for sharing Jeremy Jahns
this movie gave me nightmares
one of my favorite scenes is when he's looking at the blue bug zapper light and he's commenting on how beautiful and awe inspiring the light is, and he's just sitting there gazing at it.
Rumour has it Jeremy replies to the early comments ;)
Oscar Kirk true bro
Ive lost 1% of the respect I had for you.
Sexy Skin Salamander bummer
One of my all time favourite sci-fi horror films. The amazing practical effects allow it to stand up so well even today.
The fly is fantastic, but the thing is better. No context.
did you know both were remakes of the 50's versions?
Jack Draper can you give a little context?
Mirror's Light yes, crazy right?! You know if they hold up?
Have you seen the shitty sequel with lance out of pulp fiction playing the fly's son.
Oh god there's a sequel?
yep it's shitty to the point alot of people don't even know it exists
its not that shitty. its B for sure but it had some interesting ideas and was a proper and mostly competent sequel. and the dog scene is heartchurning.
nah nah I'm talking from the general public opinion.... everybody who watched it in general .... I thought it was okay but every time I said people look at me like I'm from another world
Matthew Flanagan I saw that movie when I was 12 and I still don't get wtf the plot was about? the whole time I was confused on how it relates to the first movie
jeremy going back to the old movies. great. can ya review predator and jaws. been waiting for like 6 years now man.
The Fly and The Thing are my two favorite 80s horrors as well. you're awesome!
My favorite line in this movie, that really points out that he knows where his mind is going is: "There are no insect politicians".
