Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your compliment and thank you for watching the video. I tried to play the piece with as minimal amount of my musical influence as possible and just concentrate on playing the notes....it isn't me or my playing, it is all Beethoven's beautiful melody. Regards, Edmund
@poohbear1059 The notes at :47 are open E, harmonic E one octave higher on the E string. Then D# E D# E D# E in the first position on A string. Hope this help. If you need more info on the music let me know. Thanks for listening. Regards, Edmund
@StudioAlNaqqash Thank you for listening and commenting. Glad you liked. The violin was made in 1973 by Erich Sandner in Mittenwald, Germany (cost was $1500 in 1973, probably would cost in the 3500-7500 range now). The bow is a Herbert Wanka cost in the 1500-2500 range now. Strings are Thomastik Dominants. You should be able to get a very good sound from a violin in the 300-500 price range. Make sure that you have good strings. I urge players to focus on practice and not equipment. Thanks, Edmund
Hi Nothing, I definitely I am open minded about different interpretations. That said, I agree with you, Beethoven's original is tough to make better. Regards, Edmund
Thank you for listening, commenting, and your kind words. I do not use a shoulder rest. Most violinists (from beginners to concert violinists) use shoulder rests. However many of the old school concert violinists, including Heifetz, did not use them. I have been told that Heifetz would not let his students use them. My thoughts on shoulder rests are if a player can play better and is more comfortable using them they should. Regards, Edmund
Thank you for listening and commenting. I agree....Beethoven's songs are incredible. It is pure genius that he, like Bach and Mozart and some others, can write such beautiful melodies with just a few simple notes. Regards, Edmund
Hi Lucfi, Glad to hear you are a violinist too. Hoping to hear your videos on youtube some time in the future. Thanks for the kind words and best wishes with your musical journey. Regards, Edmund
Thank you so much for your kind words. Comments like yours make me realize that I have achieved the goal of my interpretation- to let the music speak for itself and sing out without any additions or influences from me....just Beethoven. And when you have music from a creative genius at Beethoven's level all you need is the music. Regards, Edmund

Hello Jasmina, Thank you for listening and commenting....I am glad you enjoyed the video so much!!! You are correct....it is a great cover! Not because I am a good violinist....there are over 1,000 violinists on youtube better than I am! The reason it is so good is because I just played the notes. Beethoven's music is incredibly beautiful and pure genius! Jejejeje, all I had to do to sound great is play the notes......it isn't me, it's the music! Thanks Beethoven

@rikyyyable Thank you for listening and commenting. The violin is an Erich Sander made in Mittenwald, Germany 1973. Cost of violin new in 1973 was $1500.00. If one wanted to purchase an equivalent violin today used or new cost would be in the 2,000 to 10,000 range. My dad purchased the instrument when my family and I traveled there in 1974. Bow is a Herbert Wanka made in 1978, the strings are Thomastik Visions, medium gauge and the rosin is Pirastro Goldflex. Regards, Edmund

Thank you for listening and commenting Tom. Thank you for your kind words and I am happy to hear you liked this version of Beethoven's incredible melody. Bass is an awesome instrument too. That said if you really enjoy listening to violin maybe you should consider taking some lessons and learn to play. Regards, Edmund
brought a tear to my eye
@rikyyyable Thank you for listening and commenting. The violin is an Erich Sander made in Mittenwald, Germany 1973. Cost of violin new in 1973 was $1500.00. If one wanted to purchase an equivalent violin today used or new cost would be in the 2,000 to 10,000 range. My dad purchased the instrument when my family and I traveled there in 1974. Bow is a Herbert Wanka made in 1978, the strings are Thomastik Visions, medium gauge and the rosin is Pirastro Goldflex. Regards, Edmund
thank you so much this is the most beautiful thing ive ever heard ❤️❤️❤️❤️
