- One author noted that we could write on countless American gravestones this epitaph: Hurried, Worried, Buried. Fear, stress, worry, and anxiety ravage modern culture. These two verses of Philippians 4 are among the most treasured by Christians worldwide because of their power to overcome this tendency to be overwhelmed by anxiety. Let’s give our souls a rest by learning and practicing the truths presented here.
This teaching is from our series Technicolor Joy: A Study through Philippians with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

Sign off devices - tv and phone - a few hours before bed. Go to sleep and get up at the same time each day (Google sleep hygiene) cut way down on caffeine and cut it out at noon. Meditate on God’s word first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. Pray. God bless.

58 yrs old. I have been suffering from Anxiety since my teen years. Anxiety has caused me to miss out on a lot of life. I have been seeking Gods words for comfort but I am now listening and accepting Gods help. I can't cope with this disabling condition any longer. Skips sermon was excellent and it he helps me put my responsibilities in an order for me to follow. The how to seek Gods help through Prayer, Supplication and Thanksgiving is very helpful in my redirecting my anxiety into worship. Thank you Skip and Calvary.
Keep going, friend. I am 52 and realize how I've missed and avoided so much of life. Once I truly cast my anxiety to God, I have gained power and strength through Him. It is a very different life.

After Chuck Smith passed away alot of Calvary pastors now do topical teachings. I miss the good old days where every sermon was w chapter in the bible. I really do. However thank you for this teaching.

Wow, what a teaching on "Overcoming An Anxious MInd"...just as Pastor Skip said" I came to the altar of God anxious but i left with the peace of God in my heart"...now, i know from the heart the process i need to go through to overcome my anxious thoughts...what a powerful message from the heart of God for anyone who wants to breakthrough the barriers of anxiety...
Anxiety is a true curse that has stolen so much of my life. So much of it can be traced back to my neurodivergence, and let’s just say that if it wasn’t for God I would have “lost it.” NowI remember that God made me this way as a blessing not a curse, and I can touch so many people with my “voice”!

It obvious who the worriers are. The 86+ viewers who gave a thumbs down to this message are probably life long worriers who heard this message, rejected it & sadly will continue to be worriers to their own detriment.
While growing up I witnessed my mom's anxiety and panic attacks. One of my three siblings and I suffer from this too.
It's a huge struggle and by God's grace we walk with God daily.
Never the less it's a struggle.
My adult kids struggle with it too.
Please keep us in your prayers.
I will be going through knee surgery soon and have many other health issues.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast your anxieties on Him for He cares for you. It has given me comfort knowing my worries, stresses, anything which gives me stress- give it to Jesus. The Spirit gives us comfort and the Lord gives us strength.
Omg this is what I needed to hear...I recently parted ways with a woman I was going to marry due to us not being healthy, our trauma and past experiences entered our relationship and therefore we we're in an impossible relationship. I haven't slept or ate in almost 2 days after this I will rest and stop being a man with two minds. Amen and brothers and sisters i pray that if you're here it's because you're hurting and I pray for your peace! 😇
My mother in law is passing away this week and I'm having a really hard time. I don't know what to say to be helpful and this anxiety making me the opposite of that. Thank you for this. As a newer Christian, guys like Skip and Mike Winger have been invaluable people to me. So much so I found a Calvary church in my neighborhood to bring my kids to. I hope my husband will come aroumd too, but with his mother dying, I'm scared to say the wrong thing and push him away. His mom is very treasured by his family, with good reason. I'm rambling, just wanted to say thank you.

I was hospitalized TWICE for anxiety in November. That's about the time you posted this, right? I still struggle a bit but I think God helped me to cut down on the meds I've been taking.
@@peachydandy2570 about five months ago. Still the same for me always worried about something. I don't like meds but i don't feel I have a choice
@@unapologeticallyconservati4531 That's a pattern. Same timing for me. I heard November (that's about 5 months ago, maybe shortly b4 that), was a popular month for anxiety last year. Yup, same deal for me, still going on meds. I wonder "why" anxiety started for so many ppl around the same time?
@@unapologeticallyconservati4531 BTW I am also very, very conservative too. This anxiety probably had something to do with the election......
I sit here worried about a quarrel that has divided ny family. This will divide all of us for Thanksgiving day and not knowing if it will be resolved before that day is driving me crazy. But after listening to this, you have helped open my eyes to prayer and TRUST in God. Thank you so much for this!

I've suffered anxiety my entire life. From childhood. Now the plandemic has devided my entire family. My children are involved in witchcraft, abandoned me because if my faith. Honestly I feel Free from their perverse and evil life styles. I worry about my grandchildren constantly, 2 have been sexually abused. Please pray for me and my family. Maureen

After this video four years ago, I decided to check out my nearest Cavalry Chapel. I have been saved. I have never looked back. Please pray for my son who has cerebral palsy and now is diagnosed with rectal cancer . When he was born the doctor told me that he was only going to be around for 48 hours but God had a different plan because he turned 35 last year. Now again there’s nothing they can do for him because chemo and radiation are just not an option for him. We’ve decided to do immuno therapy and I give glory to God for leading us to New Hope Unlimited who offered unconventional treatment.

SAD. I remember the condition you referenced . When we lived in Alaska I always felt days were too short in the winter but dealing with it darkness, never really bothered me. TY 4ur kindnesses ... u speak the truth of Scripture w/o turning ur messages into the the name it and claim it nonsense...

Hi Heather the only thing that sends any of us to hell is the rejecting of Jesus Christ as Savior . Surely the shed blood of Christ is stronger to save you . I will pray for you , love from a sister in Christ
